Dear Diary, Finally back home again after a really lovely thyme in Champs Les Sims.  We made so many friends whilst there and even had a few small adventures.  Christmas worked so hard all the thyme, writing away.  I do believe the child will grow up to be an author and will then be able to chronicle  our family doings for the rest of those to follow.  She did take some special thyme to play a bit and get to be close to her mom and dad.  Of course her grandfather and I are very special to her as well.  It is so nice to have such a close and loving family!

Here at home everything is all sixes and sevens!  The house is completely torn up and we are forced to live downstairs in the basement whilst the workers turn our octagon house into a more common, but much more usable, home.  It is so good to be getting rid of all the 'stuff' we seem to accumulate.  A nice chance for some new  furnishings, albeit fewer of them.  I'm afraid most of the garden is going to have to go as well as our focus for it is now turned toward nectar making.  Jude has found he has a real knack for this and reached the highest level in it.  Of course, how could he do otherwise considering where we were?  So most of the garden will go and leave us just the fruits for nectar making as well as our money trees and life fruit.  Those trees are surely ripe for harvest at the moment!  Really, two weeks away and they are just bursting with money bags!  It's just as well since our home remodel will take quite a bit of cash.

I would love to show you some of our trip, although really nothing much exciting happened, but unfortunately our local photography processor  is out of order and we must wait till Carl, the owner/manager of it, returns from his travels to repair it!  It is the strangest thing.  When we try to access it on our computers it all shows up in some strange language.  While it looks a lot like Simlish, it is indeed a foreign tongue so we are totally unable to access our account.  Before he left Carl told up a trick to use but unfortunately it doesn't work at all for us.  Ah well, patience is a virtue they say!  Meanwhile, my poor words will just have to keep you up to date.

Oh dear!  The workers need for us to go visit a friend or something so they can continue to remodel our home.  I can hardly wait to see what they come up with!  Talk to you later!

What?  Grannies can't play games?
I speak perfect Nooblik, (and some Simlish)!

I'm glad the rebuild seems to be going well, Joria. It's nice to hear about the progress even without pictures. Hopefully, master Carl has a few more tricks up his sleeve for the Thymes to try. :)

Gallery is working fine for all this thyme :)
Joria, when you finish remodel, please post pictures, even if gallery is not working you can always use thumbnails as Schipperke do. And even without them, you are doing excellent job in writing this story.

Hi guys!  The Gallery is all in Russian for me and Naga.  It started when I clicked on his link to the gallery to view his updated shots of SV 2.1.  I tried the F5 trick but it didn't work.  So I pm'd Carl and he's been working on it, but then had to leave for a trip.  Spring break?  I haven't actually tried uploading any photos, and admit, I've been really bad at taking screenies lately, because I didn't want them being broken or something by going in with a foreign language.  I wish I knew how to reset my language but I can't even read where to go to do anything there at the moment.

The remodel was going well and then I lost all I had done by not saving!  Black screen of death did me in.  Now I've got it back to where it was before I lost it but it's a long way to go yet.  At the moment the ground and upper levels are gone.  The lowest basement level is mostly done and the museum level is a work in progress but getting there.

My museum is not going to be as interesting as most of what others have done.  Basically you can wander along a red carpet from area to area and look at portraits, photos and sculptures and then wander into the nectary and sit and have some nectar.  Tour over at that point.  On that level I also will have my collections.  Only just starting to get those organized.  I want to do those in museum "rooms" as well.  Doing my own gem collection, (I could use Anushka's fabulous collection but I wanted to have them do it themselves), a room for each country, a room for other works of art/photos they make have done and some sculptures.  I'm really not good at laying this out.

The lower basement has 7 en-suite huge rooms with a central gathering area.  The central area has a band stand, dance floor, pieces of work and portraits of spouses, (outside each immortals suite), a pool and hot tub, kitchen, dining area, library, everything they need or want.  I may just not bother with much of a "big house" on top.  We'll see.  I will do some screenies today and maybe give a shot at the gallery, Russian or not.

Thanks for reading everyone!

WOOT!  I just tried something different.  I clicked on "User galleries" and there was a listing of all our names with a small thumbnail.  Under the names it says to click on the picture to see more of what that user has posted.  So I did. It took me to an ENGLISH page where I could sign in.  I figured I'd give it a shot.  Signed in and VOILA!  I'm back!  So today I'll sort through my screenies and take some more of the build in progress on the new mansion and will post some update pics for you all.

By the way, I totally fail at saving money or graphics in my builds.  Instead of having less stuff I'm winding up with more.  (sigh)  I'm going to ask for help/advice for this new building as I am sort of at a loss.  First of all, I KNOW I have to make the lower basement much smaller.  It is huge.  Almost the size of the entire lot and it's a mighty big lot!  When you see one Sims bedroom is large enough to fit an entire small house in you know you've gone overboard.  Those rooms are meant to be luxurious for sure, after all, it's where the eldery immortals will go once there is a new baby born to the heir.  (So we have an heir and an heir presumptive?)  But not that luxurious.  Besides, I kind of feel like we're burying them before they are dead.  Maybe they should go up into the sunshine of an upper level rather than down into a lower level?  That could actually save some simoleons if not graphics.

Now the advice is many faceted.  First, do I stay down with them or go up?  At the moment the house is a single floor with two bedrooms and bathrooms, a kitchen/dining area, small lounge and lots of outdoor use areas.  Previously my house had a lovely second storey that was open and airy and very comfy and gorgeous.  If I go up, should I try an arched gallery around the outside as I did before but with a classical look instead of modern looking arches?

I don't think I'd make a huge party area up top this time but who knows.  I'm working on making the pool/patio more "party central" at the moment.  This is mostly because people who came to the parties never went to where the party stuff was but hung around the pool or inside the house.

I want the house to look rather neo-classical so I've used a different style window, (going away from the modern look because I'm no danefaith when it comes to building modern), and am using purely decorative, (at the moment anyway), columns.  I'm using the sirens one.  I was just gifted the Greek spa thing and there are a lot of nice construction features to use.  Hecates door for one.  I don't know what to use for the exterior wall covering though!  How do I get that nice, neo-classical look?  I don't particularly want to go with clapboard siding.  So ideas for that would be appreciated.

I'm also having difficulty with interior design.  Not that I can't do interior design.  It's just mine tends to be a bit cluttered and loaded down with too much stuff and then doesn't look right.  So when we get to that point I'd like some advice.

I also have trouble with color.  I'm a very monochromatic type person.  I'll pick maybe three colors and stick with them through an entire house.  My current heir loves turquoise.  YUCK!  Great on clothes, fine as jewellry but I'm struggling with seeing it on walls and floors.  Just looks too bright to me and whatever goes with it?  To make it worse, her kid is all yellow.  Another, though not as serious, yuck for me.  Maybe I should just decorate it to my taste and not worry about their colors?  They can always just wear them.

Ok, off to do the screenies and work on the house a bit.

I'm glad it's working for ya! I'm no good at building so I will leave that advice to someone more knowledgeable, but for the color thing, here's my view on it. I am the one playing the game, and I want everything to please MY eyes. I really don't care about their favorite colors except in certain cases. But I make them the way I want to see it. After all, you are the one staring at them all day, so make it the way you like it!

I'm glad it's working too, Joria. I can't wait to see pictures! ;D
In the Tunic Legacy (And all the Legacies I've done in the past), the house was coloured to the heirs fave colour, without fail. I belive turquoise can look good, but it is all your choice.

Dear Diary,  It's me, Summertime.  Mom is busy in the garden, (as usual!), Christmas is in school, Dad is at his easel, (as usual, lol), and Jude is being a good son-in-law and is helping Mom.  I KNOW I should be out there helping as well but really, mucking around in the dirt just is not my thing!  Ok, we have to give Jude some kudos here because even though he doesn't have to, he's maxed out his gardening skill and has decided he'll go ahead and work on the challenges too.  Oh, and he also got to Vintner Master, (level 10), in making nectar.  Now if he would just get out of the garden and start making the stuff I'd be happy as can be.  He says all that gardening is so he CAN make top notch nectar.  We'll see.

I got our photos back!  Oh, the memories they bring.  Here's one of Jude becoming a nectarologist, or whatever you call them.

Now, can someone PUHLEEZE tell me what is so thrilling about getting all gooshy between the toes squishing fruit?  And, do I REALLY want to drink this stuff?  Not that Jude doesn't have adorable toes but I sure hope he bathed FIRST!  Speaking of adorable toes, here's some pics of my sweetie and me.  I really wonder who took them?  Maybe I'd best check our suite for hidden cameras because I sure don't want Christmas and her little camera in on the action.

Come to think of it, I don't want ANYONE watching what we do in our private moments.  *sigh*  We really are so very much in love.  I just wish I could have more children with Jude, but really, it would make things so much harder having to watch my child age and die.  Bad enough I will have to go through it with Jude.  This being in love is wonderful, but it is so hard knowing what I know.  I hope I'll be able to make it through and not ruin things for the next generation.

Oh!  Coffee is done!  Be back in a flash!

Joria, the pictures are not showing up on my computer-is it just me?  :(

I have no idea about building or interior design, in fact I put it off as long as possible (especially recolouring!) and choose mismatching colours.  :P
