Can I build my current family a new house?

Hello. My Sims 3 Pets family just had twin girls!

The house I originally built is getting too small. I've already extended it twice and I think it is time for me to create a new, larger house.

How may I make a new house for my Sims in the same town?

Do you want to rebuild on the same lot or do you want a new lot?

To rebuild, you can just take the sledgehammer tool in build/buy mode and buildoze the house and rebuild that way.

For the latter, click on an adult Sim in your household. Go to their inventory and click their cell phone. Then click Real Estate... (I think that's the phrase they use) and click move. Move screen pops up and click your family members one by one and shift them over to the right side of the moving screen by the arrows. Next Pick Lot and pck the lot you want. Click accept. Voila! Or you go to Edit Town mode and evict your family. The family will go to your Clipboard (not the bin). Pick out your lot (make sure you can afford it), click on your family, place and buy the lot. Click button on top that says Return to Game.

Thank you. I want my family to move to another lot where I can build new house from scratch. I want the family to keep the furniture, like the 2 cribs for the twins and the new telly and other items.

The old house, I build basement wrong and I cant put things on the walls. I have learnt how to make good basement for house with foundation. I dont want to start a new family over; I like playing with my current family and watching the 2 males who live with the mother and father Sims help out with the twins.

Mow the furniture you want to keep to your family inventory. Your family inventory can be accessed in Buy Mode. It's the opened box below the chair and lamp.
