Stereo bug- can't sleep

Hi, I have been playing Sim 3 for not that long, but I have reached a great amount into the game. I have used music to my advantage for my sims gaining happiness. I started noticing this bug, the sims would not turn of the stereo when they went to sleep. I thought this was cool, I got happiness while sleeping. Then after I didn't pay the rent for my house the guys came in and took the stereo. My sims were sad and I was sadder. I could see that the speakers were pumping out notes and I could here music. So i decided to buy another stereo and from there It never turned off. My sims never went to sleep, and I could never sell that stereo. So I decided to buy a new house, then I quite the game without saving because I love my house I can never leave the Porsche residence. HELP!

I also tried the cheat to delete it, it worked but they still didn't sleep.

I don't think I've heard of this particular bug.  Have you tried resetting your Sims?  You say you did manage to remove the stereo, right?  What exactly happens when you try to get your Sims to sleep?  Normally, Sims won't sleep when there is music on because it wakes them up, so I'm surprised you were ever able to get your Sims to sleep with music playing in the room.  One more question.  Are you running any mods in your game?

I'm going to move this to the Miscellaneous Help thread because it's more of a general problem rather than something specific to Showtime.

They don't sleep at all, I clicked on them and pressed sleep option on the bed. They go close to the bed get the remote to turn off the stereo but they don't sleep because of the bug. I am not running any mods. I can try to record  it, if it helps.

Will they get in the bed at all?  Or do they get in, then get right back out again?

They never get in the bed.

Did you try what Pam suggested?  Trying typing in resetSim Firstname Lastname or resetSim * to reset all Sims. in the cheat bar (open the cheat bar by pressing CTRL + Shift+ C)

That's the only thing I can think of at the moment that may help.

Have you tried moving them out of the house and right back in again? It can solve many problems. When you used the cheats to remove the stereo, did you also remove the wall units?

My first reaction would be to delete both the stereo and wall speakers using testing cheats.  Also replace the beds.  If it doesn't change, then try using Edit Town to move the family out to the clipboard, then move them right back in again.  If none of this works, let is know and we'll keep thinking.

Thank you guys for helping me. I soled all the speakers and the stereo. Now my people sleep. There was one bug with one of the beds so I sold that.
