Outfits change in game
« on: March 18, 2014, 12:22:59 PM »
When I create a household and choose their outfits, during the game the outfit that I picked will be different especially in the females.
Is there a way to get what I chose back?

Is it their work outfits?

If you buy a dresser, you can go to plan outfit to enter the CAS type screen again.

Jesirose is probably right, when your Sim joins a career they will get a random career outfit. If your Everyday Outfit can partially qualify for a Career Outfit, the game will do it's best to replace the parts that don't.
For example: if your Sim's shirt and pants are found in both Everyday Wear shirts and pants as well as the Career Outfit shirts and pants there's a good chance the game will have your Sim wearing that shirt and pants to work, but if the shoes are only found in Everyday Wear and aren't an option for a career outfit, it will cause new shoes to be showing up in their place for your career outfit. This usually only happens prior to getting a wardrobe for your job (at low levels in rabbit hole careers or all over in self-employed or some variable career tracks) in which the outfit will switch to that of your career. If you were in the military you might get a uniform, in the business career you'll wear a power suit... etc.

In addition to all the correct information offered, I have noticed a bug in clothing for awhile.  My Sims will just get random changes of clothes for no reason.  Another thing I've noticed is that if I completely customize a Sim and then move him/her out of the house, the clothing will change when the Sim hits the Adult life stage and all of my work is just gone.  I don't think there's a solution to this particular bug.  We'll just have to see if EA fixes it.

Coming out of the shower my sims put on the oddest clothes at times. Like Pam said, totally random....top coat with swim suits and a hat. It's stuff I've never had them in before.

I recently had a sim's career outfit overwrite all of her other outfits except the everyday one. So her swimsuit, workout clothes, formal dress, and pjs were all the same career clothes instead of the ones I had spent so much time customizing. Thankfully I had saved the pattern for the dress, because I went through a lot of designs to get it just how I wanted it and starting over would have been quite upsetting.

I've noticed a glitch with certain sims (and maybe it's because they are self employed, not sure) where when they shower during the day, they then appear in the career outfit.
