Re-installation with new EP

hi,
after losing my hd i am doing a complete re-installation of the sims 3. i had all ep's except university life and a i have my backed up sims 3 documents folder. my question is that now i have UL to install too do i need to put my backed up folder in before i install UL. does ep installation change anything in this folder ie. installed worlds, library etc. another question if i may, do i need to reinstall all my sims3packs or is it all in my backed up folder.

Hi, nimble.

If you backed up the entire "The Sims 3" folder, you shouldn't need to re-install your .sims3pack files since those get installed into the DBCache folder. You don't need to copy the folder back into Documents before installing the new expansion as The Sims 3 will place anything it needs into the folder when you first run the game after installing the expansion.

When re-installing, I personally wait until I have everything re-installed and tested before moving my "The Sims 3" folder back in to the Documents\Electronic Arts folder just to make sure things are working okay.
