Mummies- What are they good for?
« on: September 13, 2010, 07:58:22 PM »
I'm sorry if this already is a thread, but I couldn't find it anywhere else on the forum. I just finally summoned a mummy in my "max everything" character, and I was wondering what I could use it for to make loads of money. I know that they never have to sleep, but besides that what are some "industrious" things I can do with them (think Profit!). Or am I just not being creative enough?

Well, they don't need sleep or bathroom brakes, like you said, and I think they might be slower at aging, but I'm not sure. Most people want 'em because they look cool. Anyway, If you've got Ambitions, self employment, like writing or painting will be good, but not gardening, and no professions. Mummies are slow, and if they've got a profession where they have to talk to people, that won't work. Actually, interior design might work, but I dunno. Hope this helps!

You have a mummy and need money ? Thing Karate Kid Mummy ^^

60h of strength training in order to complete the challenge
Martial art to break as soon as possible 150 oak.

And you have an "Industrious" mummy that can break space rock and give you loads of gems.
Heart cut for pink diamonds and soulgem, and growing tiberium insure you to be have enough money to buy you whatever you want.

My Karate kid mummy also does gardening and sculpting but for fun, because I don't need money anymore.

I will try a Writer mummy I think in my current game, I try to change my game pattern between each save.

Guess you could have your mummy play tag with someone, that would speed them up, lol. ;D  Sorry, it is early in the morning and that just sounded funny, but it would work though.

You could see if you can make them catch a run bug which only appears in certain games, there is a thread somewhere on here about the Running Bug.

-Delurk-
(First post  ;D Great site by the way, love it.)

I finally got a mummy (after an eight day Egyptian adventure that took me the better part of a weekend day to complete) and they are quite the hoot, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to deal with their hygiene. I ordered mine to take a shower, she did, then got the bad moodlet for being soaked, along with creating the requisite puddle. Poor mummy, I told her to mop up that puddle, but doh she go re-soaked. Brushing teeth and washing hands only goes so far ... so am I missing something, or are they uhm ... ah .. cursed?

Edit: Figured it out :) Canceling the shower before it's finished will prevent the soaked moodlet, although they still create a puddle.

Yes, mummy and water aren't big friends ^^

Mine have Dirty Defiant LTR so she's soaked for 2 hours but rest of time she has no problem.
When my mummy does some dirty work (athletism, martial art, gardening...) I let her stinky and try compensate with other moodlets (Ambrosia + Spa ftw ^^)

Hey... the Karate Kid Mummy is an awesome idea!  Also: is a Mummy Babysitter possible?  Since you'd probably keep them at home all the time, being so slow.  I've only run into mummies in tombs, so I have no idea how a toddler would react to a freaking mummy.

Why don't you just use showers-in-cans?  ???

About the speeding up mummy quest here: will it maybe help to let them (mummies) fulfill the running challenge of the athletic skill? Not that I will believe they can runout other sims they could get a bit faster this way.

Ha, nobody can beat that comment! :D Although the only two downsides of this way of traveling are that it needs an extra click and take a place in the taskbar, so it will save time for sims, it doesn't for the player, and that sims don't use teleporters automatically themself being it the shortest way to get from A to B. I think they still believe that the shortest way to get somewhere is a straight line, not 0.
