Efficient saves
« on: March 17, 2014, 12:37:43 PM »
Hi guys :)
My legacy save is almost 1GB (944MB) and may be faulty of my game's latest performance, so I'm wondering if there's a way to sort of 're-save' it and and make TS3 that my save is new? (but loosing nothing such as, skills, inventory, family, travel data) because I dont need the saved history from waay back when my sim used to be a teen; thus being maybe a few 100MB instead of all the gigabyte that I clocked up in 6months? Is it even possible? if not why didnt EA think it through!!
Also the TravelDB.package in my save takes um 585mb! all the other files are between 25 to 50mb except for the NHD file for my hood is 183mb, but think that the 183MB NHD is perfectly normal as its a very big recreation of NYC.

Welcome to the forum, NeroKVH.

I'm going to move this thread to the Technical Support Board where it's more likely to be seen by someone who can help you.

If you're wanting to save your household, houses, and community lots from your current saves to play in a different game or a new one. I've written up how to save those files.

When you save as household, it does save family ties, as long as they're in the same household. It saves both individual and family inventories, and their skills.  I'm unsure about if it saves the travel data. As I haven't done any traveling in my game in quite some time.

Make a backup copy of your saved game as is, just in case. Then try saving the household and play them in a new/test-play game to see if it works.
