Disappearing Books?

So my books keep disappearing, and I don't mean recipes and such, I mean all of the other books. I've checked my sims inventory, family inventory, and the bookshelf (which I only have one). My sims haven't set them down anywhere. Anyone else have this problem? I keep having to go out and re-buy all these books.
