A Portrait of My Hometown

Goal
This is a brand new challenge and it comes courtesy of MarianT (thank you, Marian). The basic goal is to paint as many different portraits of your hometown residents as you can before time runs out. Adding up your 10 most valuable portraits will also be something to keep in mind.

General Challenge Rules
The General Challenge rules always apply. If applicable, exceptions will be noted below.

Specific Challenge Rules
  • Create 1 Young Adult Human Sim.
  • You may also create 1 pet for your household.
  • No changing life states.
  • You may not add to the household after entering Live Mode.
  • No drinking or throwing elixirs.
  • No herbs, coffee beans, or mixology drinks.
  • No completing any opportunities.
  • No traveling.
  • Your Sim can only have one easel on their home lot and all portraits must be done via clicking the Paint Portrait of...interaction on that easel (unlocks at skill level 7).
  • All portraits must be large size and of Sims only — no horses, unicorns, cats, or dogs.
  • If your Sim dies, then post your score as DNF.
  • This challenge concludes at the end of 4 weeks (Week 4, Day 7, 11:59 PM).

Scoring

Top 10 — Add up the value of your 10 most valuable portraits. No consignment store sales or no cashing them in for opportunities.

Portraits — This is your multiplier. Everyone starts with a multiplier of 1.00 and for every different Sim you are able to paint a portrait of add .01 to your multiplier. You must write down everyone’s name on a sheet of paper in case the team needs to verify your score.

Example: You get to Week 4, Day 7, 11:59 PM and your Top 10 portraits are worth 22,500 simoleans. You have also written down the names of 25 different Sims which you have painted portraits of.

Total = 22,500 X 1.25 = 28,125

Ch-Ch-Changes
The team does not want to edit and make changes to the ruleset once this event goes live, but we may have to. This seasons’ events are shorter and the team has less time to test potential loopholes. If an exploit is brought to our attention or we discover something else we reserve the right to ask affected players to redo their effort.

Have Questions?
Please think hard before you ask in the challenge thread because it may be strategy. What you may consider an innocent question could cause another player to go — “oh, I did not think of doing that.” It’s always safer to PM everyone on the team (Metro, ratchie, Nutella, and Blackrosea) for clarifications. Thanks.

Wow this seems like a challenge I might actually be able to complete.  ;D

One question: Does 'hometown residents' mean anybody who lives in the hometown?

Yes it is anybody that lives in your town. Just remember to write the names down of everyone you paint a portrait of.

The link to the General Challenge rules in the introduction isn't working properly.

I made a change to this line in the ruleset, emphasized a word.

-- Create 1 Young Adult Human Sim.

I clarified the following rule so hopefully there is no confusion which easel interaction to use:

  • Your Sim can only have one easel on their home lot and all portraits must be done via clicking the Paint Portrait of...interaction on that easel (unlocks at skill level 7).

You might want to emphasize the large size since that's not what pops up first when doing portraits.

Done.   Attention All:  I made a change to this line in the ruleset, emphasized a word.

I'm not sure if I have glitch or what but I'm playing a test run of this one and there is no option to choose the size of portraits.  They are always medium sized.  How do you choose to do a large portrait specifically... my test sim is Level 10 in painting.

"I" key to change portrait size, during when the portrait window popups.

Yep, you would just press I one time to get to the large size from the default medium. If memory serves me large may become the default size then if you do not change it again. I am not sure. I may be getting confused with setting a camera's default size.
