Where to get lime tree and other seeds?

Where may I get or buy lime tree and other seeds? I play Sims 3 Pets and my gardener Sim got a request for limes. I am new to Sims 3, but I have a garden growing at my house. It is tomatos, apples trees, grapes and lettuce. I'm not sure how I got THOSE seeds, LOL!

Having fun with the game; any help will be appreciated.

Limes are part of the base game. You should be able to purchase them from the grocery store and plant them - same as any other produce. You don't necessarily have to plant only seeds to get the produce.

Any veggies you want to plant, and the two trees you can find in the grocery store, just buy the items, such as garlic and onions and plant them in your garden and they will grow and produce the veggies. 
Same with the trees, buy the fruit at the store and plant them.

You can search around the town and find the plant too.  Or seeds that can be planted.  Any seeds or fruits and veggies you find that are extra can go into your fridge to be used in cooking or sold to the store. 
Way to earn some extra money and just needs you to do some running around the town.  In Pets, there are lots of seeds by the criminal headquarters, Any fishing area (usually) will have something whether it is a fruit tree or veggies mixed in with the bushes.

Will also find gems and metals as you run around searching, near the hanging tree are some seeds, gems and/or metals, and maybe veggies, can't remember if exactly what is there.

You get the first few seeds by learning the gardening skill. Which town are you in? Most of them have a community garden you can harvest if you don't want to buy the plants, plus then you gain skill points.
