Unversity Townies Question

Are they always the same students ? Lets say my sim goes to University, then after goes home to resume normal life in Sunset Valley, etc. She has a child who then, when grown attends University. Will he or she encounter the same sims there? It'd be kind of weird if they dated the same townie as their parents did. Is this a strange question?  Sorry if it is.

When I have returned to University, I had the same batch of townies as had been there before, but in different roles - my former professor was a student, my former housemate now worked as a barista, etc.

Intergenerationally, I don't know how it will play out. My University Sims have not wanted to have a kid yet. My Sims who have adopted haven't been to University (and their son is still a child).

University sims do age, but the game repopulates the world, often using the genetics of whoever was at university the last time you visited. The daughter might see the same sims, but they'll definitely be older by then, or long-lived supernaturals if you have those enabled. But she'll see new faces as well, so it won't be totally weird.
