I'm about to change computers..

My laptop has all my Sims 2 and 3. Now 2 I can just reinstall, no problem. And normally, I'd say that about 3 as well. I very rarely PLAY with my Sims [I'm much more interested in the building/design of the lots] But now I've got a family that I don't want to lose, so how do I need to go about moving the save file so that it's all intact?
I understand some of y'all will think this is a ridiculous question, but Sims Medieval screwed up while making a transfer, and I got so irritated that I haven't played since.

There's a great thread someone just posted about using Git, which is a technical service for managing "versions" of things. You could use that. You could also just put them on a USB drive or something like that.

I do appreciate the help. I've continued to play with my family, and if I didn't want to lose them before, I certainly don't now.
