Hello everyone,
so I remember reading that Vampires skill up faster. I created a family with a fairy dad & teenage daughter, vampire mum, child and toddler daughters. The mother and kid did get the double + signs and advanced fairly quickly in anything they tackled. When the toddler girl aged up, however, she started painting and overtook her vampire sister's skill with the first small painting, going to 7 immediately (she had read the Fingerprints book, though).
I was baffled but thought, well, probably a glitch. It persisted for any other skills, too; I had her start the play table at the same time as her vampire sister and she got to 3 almost in the blink of an eye. Meanwhile, the parents had another kid, a vampire boy. He also read the Fingerprints book then proceeded to fulfill his LTW (max writing and painting skill) with ten days to go to teenager, so he also skills up insanely fast. It took him about three small paintings to max out painting skill, and merely two books for writing. All in all, he was at it two sim days only. The other kids have rolled LTWs, too, but those cannot be completed at childhood stage (thankfully?).
The parents had another kid, a vampire girl again, and I am starting to feel sorry for the teenage fairy daughter, who has been doing little but trying to max out Alchemy and advancing slooooowly in comparison. I also find myself struggling to find something new for the kids to do, as they are already supermaxing everything. The certificates keep coming in (they make nice money, though). It's not really a problem at this point, but I have never had such hungry learners before and it might get boring before soon.
So... have you had this happen? How did you handle it? Is this another sign of the game glitching out on me? I cannot for the life of me think why it would have been programmed like this on purpose...
