More than MachineWhile the watcher waited a sim week hoping that Gavin and/or Joslynn would pop the wish to marry each other (which they never did), Ransom and Isabelle proved much more obliging. On day two of his young adulthood, Ransom threw up the wish to marry her, so he proposed at their favorite spot.
Ransom: "There's a wedding arch upstairs and a dress with your name on it. Are you in?"
She was! Isabelle threw herself into his arms with a passionate kiss. Unfortunately, some sims just can't stand to see other people happy, as this one townie so aptly illustrates.
Townie: (fuming) "Public displays of affection? This is an outrage!"
They married in a private ceremony upstairs, away from preying eyes and townie hissy-fits.
Shortly thereafter, this happened:

But while our heirs were getting ready to welcome a new life into the household, Tris was mourning the loss of an old one.
Grim came for Joaquin late one evening, mere days after he finished maxing the culinary career.
Tris wasn't exactly getting younger herself, but she still had plenty of time. She spent much of those first few days just visiting with Joaquin's urn in the mausoleum and reminiscing.
While the rest of the household was consumed with thoughts of the life and death of organic creatures, Ransom was obsessed with the mechanical.
Could bolts and nuts become something
more? Could he too create life?
He decided it was time to find out!
After carefully choosing a schematic and designing a few useful trait chips, Ransom created his first plumbot: Proteus.
Next he installed the trait chips, allowing Proteus to clean house, cook meals, repair broken objects, learn skills like any normal sim, and even baby-sit.
Okay, so maybe it wasn't life
exactly. He didn't yet have the skill to give Proteus sentience, but it was certainly a marvelous contraption of metal and machine. At least, Ransom thought so.
Upstairs, someone seemed to disagree.
The moment Proteus stepped forth, the contractions hit Isabelle with a vengeance.
Their daughter Wendi was born--
--absent-minded, insane, and a technophobe in the making!
As promised, pics of how Gavin and Joslynn's kids turn out.
First one's a bit odd. Joslynn's features, I think, but with Gavin's rainbow skin.
This one's all Joslynn's--practically a clone of Joslynn/Tris/Connor. Beautiful, but I've played with these same features for the last few generations.
And finally, all Gavin's features (he makes a pretty girl). These are the Lau genes, which have passed down from Walter and from the original townie Annie Lau.
They're not bad, but I have to say I'm happy with the way the votes turned out. These kids got nothin' on Ransom and Isabelle's!
