A invisible sim causing script errors
« on: February 25, 2014, 01:00:29 PM »
I played with a family of several adult and YA sims of different life states. One of my "test subjects" was Emily Hamada, an YA vampire, and when I installed Error Trap and Overwatch, the first one said her mother Honey was age stuck, which, I suppose was because she was a werewolf. But Error Trap caused poor Honey Hamada to become invisible, in family tree, in relationship panel and in gameplay. She doesn't appear in Edit Town and resetsim doesn't work on her. When I tried to invite her over or to a park with my Sim, it said that my Sim had script error and returned her home. Many times. This annoys me, is there any way to get Honey back visible and healthy? Or have I just adjust to the situation?

Have you tried splitting up the family using edit town, moving her out that way and then merging them back together after?

Or maybe resetting the whole town might help. I was having a problem with one of the townies in Sunset Valley (Xander Clavell), resetsim wouldn't work, killing him didn't work, totally annihilated him with a Nrass mod, nothing worked. He continued to give me errortrap messages. Having exhausted all my options, I gave up and decided to let him be. I noticed quite a few townies getting stuck in the ground (just saw their speech and thought bubbles) later on though and used the reset everything option in MasterController and the messages stopped, as well as fixed all my sims.

That family consists of Honey and four other sims. Honey is invisible in the family's picture, and if I try to split the family, it recognizes Honey should be here, but doesn't allow me to split family. Resetsim doesn't work, neither global or normal.

Huh. I wonder why it won't let you split it. Maybe try kicking her out from live mode and move her back in?
Or move the family out using edit town > evict, and then back to their same lot. Anything you want to keep move into their inventories, because it might not survive the move.

Have you try resetting everything using MasterController? Not using resetSim.

That family isn't the one I'm currently playing with, but I could give it a try and test edit town again. I don't have Master Controller and I'm afraid this whole mess was caused by Error Trap, so I will probably remove that too.

Sorry for the double post, but when I went to the game, Honey was back and healthy, although aged to elder. Now Emily is going to visit her with a Fountain of Youth elixir. Thanks Skilletnap for keeping my hopes high!
