Woooo, somebody's finally keeping this board alive besides me. ;)

I really like Marci! A Life States Dynasty in Isla Paradiso. Should be an interesting theme for any vampire generations!

I really like Marci! A Life States Dynasty in Isla Paradiso. Should be an interesting theme for any vampire generations!

This is my favorite dynasty challenge, I definitely wish it were more active.  I've already looked through every thread on this board!

At first Marci was just a bunch of pixels but as I play her more and more, I really like her too.  I mean, when she got turned down by a guy, I took it personally!
Speaking of vampires, I have been searching and searching and haven't found one yet!  I'll be bringing that up soon in my updates.  I do know they exist though, also to be mentioned soon, so I hope their numbers continue to grow.  I definitely won't have one for generation 2 as Marci is already married.

After the failure that was the first opportunity, Marci gets her first today.
Scout got a monetary award for being the "quirkiest pet in town."
Marci:  Not even exciting considering how amazing the last one should have been.
Hey, at least you won something considering how unlucky you are today.

House update!  Sorry it's in the dark.
I got some walls up, but ran out of funds before any paint, flooring or doorway could be put in.

So... last time I mentioned Marci's awful formalwear failure.  Today she went to the Red Velvet Lounge to try and find some vampires.  She hasn't seen a single one so far and to be frank, I was starting to wonder if it was even possible for them to exist on an island like this.  She dressed herself up for the occasion.  She should have just stayed in her everyday clothes.  Well, she sort of did.

The place is absolutely deserted.  Marci helps herself to a drink and sits down to wait.

This girl comes in and immediately thinks she would rather be at home.
Random Fairy:  I got dressed up for this?

Same with this rather frightening individual.
Elderly werewolf:  I got dressed up for this?

So I'm really getting concerned at this point about the vampire situation.  I can't help but wonder if this dynasty is already doomed.  I haven't seen any witches either.  This frustration is getting to Marci as well.  She dumps over her own trash can, and it seems to startle her back into human form.

At the library, Marci decides to mingle with people rather than work on her novel.  Just because time is ticking and she has yet to even meet a guy she likes, much less one who is supernatural.  So she chats up Alfonso.  I check the social tab to see what color the outline around his picture is.  GUESS WHAT???

Valerie Vidal appears to have been bitten by a vampire!  They exist!
Marci:  ahahahaa... I'd like to see her be a vegetarian now!!  Speaking of vegetarians, I'M STARVING!!

Then Marci comes across this handsome fellow.

She asks him all the questions (sorry sometimes I just can't get a shot unless walls are down):

He works for the police, he's a Taurus (compatible), and he is single.  Best of all, he is a witch.  To be honest, I had completely forgotten about them as supernaturals, I was so tied up in more visible things like vampires, faeries and werewolves.
Marci:  I like him.  He's hot.

A hug seals their friendship...

And it's time to move on to romance.  Marci asks him out, and he agrees!
They end up going to this sad excuse for an art museum.  So sad they they end up looking at stars rather than art.  By the way, this is Marci's swimwear.  As soon as I buy a dresser, these terribad outfits will be changed.

Marci:  I had a really great time with you tonight...
Rubisel:  Yeah, I hear that a lot.
He really does seem pretty stuck up.

This is what Scout did while Marci was out.

The next morning at the library, this mermaid shows up looking pretty nervous.

Oh em gee.  Right in front of that girl, too.  She closed her book and got up to leave REALLY fast.

Marci:  Okay, that was way too exciting.  I can't write now!
She calls Rubisel instead, and asks if he wants to go out again.  They agree to meet at the beach, despite Marci being hydrophobic.  That tells you how desperate she is.

Shortly after arriving, the date is interrupted by a phone call:

Marci:  Score!  I already started a drama and it will be done soon!
Rubisel:  Screw this.  Rubisel waits for NO ONE!
Marci:  Hey, it was just a phone call!

After he relieves himself, Marci goes at him hard.  She flirts, compliments, and gives him a massage.  I took screenshots of all, but there isn't really much need to post all that.
Eventually the option to ask him to go steady popped up...

And he agrees!

Now, I'm going to be completely honest here and say that I don't really like this guy.  He seems really snooty and rude.  I got a pop-up about his cheating reputation.  He has an accent - I know, it's Sim language but you can just TELL.  He is just one of those exotic types living a self pleasing, fast-paced life.  Not to mention he turned Marci down for a kiss twice whilst trying to get their relationship up.  I kind of took that personally!  I feel like he only agreed to go steady to shut her up or something.  What does it matter to him?  He can always cheat on her.

But hey, she seems to like him and he's the best match we have found so far.

No surprise what Marci dreams about that night.
No surprise what Scout dreams about, either.

Great shot of that elderly werewolf in her formal clothes <<shudder>> lol  ;)  I played Rubisel once, he annoyed me so much that I testingcheatsenabled changed all his traits apart from sailor  :P

Yeah!  I wish I had the walls up though.  Rubisel seems to make a better husband than a boyfriend, once he gets past that commitment issue thing.  I was surprised he agreed to go steady on the first try, after turning her down for a kiss twice.  On the plus side, I don't think a more devoted guy would have dealt well with Marci being so busy with the dynasty requirements.  She barely spent any time with him at all.

House update!  Marci can afford some more walls.  This is mostly thanks to the income from the resort plus Scout's finds, as she is not yet making much profits in her writing career.  Still no floors or doorways but that's okay, no need to use this room quite yet as we will be too poor to furnish it for a while.  I know it looks odd, but I already have a design in mind for this place and I think it will look nice when all is said and done.

Marci is in a great mood the next morning after her date with Rubisel.
Marci:  Siiiiiinging in the raaain... omnomnom eat all the water.

See what happens when you sing, Marci?

Back to work at the library...

Two desks behind Marci, this frightening woman from the vampire lounge turns up to shred the desk this fairy is working at.  He seems bothered by this, as he quickly gets up.

He gives her a firm NO, BAD DOG, lecturing finger and all.

This seems to make her come to her senses.
Ignore the woman on the toilet.

Okay, I know the townies are probably not as interesting as Marci's story, but when she is doing nothing but sitting there writing, seeing silly things happen around her amuses me.

So Marci invites Rubisel over for a visit now that they're steady and all.  He arrives all dressed up and looking rather good.

Marci is glad to see him!  He seems glad to see her, too.

She is so happy that she kicks her trash can over!

He doesn't seem very impressed by her dwelling though.  Personally, seeing as I built it, I am offended.  I have big plans for this house, I know it looks a little silly now, though.

He likes Scout though, and she likes him too!  That is pretty important in a boyfriend, am I right, Marci?
(Yep, the full moon has just arrived.)

So they go out to stargaze, not having anything else interesting to do in Marci's shack.

Of course, this has to happen right next to them:

Not two seconds later, Scout makes it even worse by relieving herself right next to everyone:

Out of the blue, Rubisel starts thinking about proposing.  I guess I can see how all the romance going on around here could do that to a guy...
(or maybe he just wants some bling, which would not surprise me)

Zombie:  Rawwwwr!!!!

Rubisel:  Booooooo!  Worst zombie ever!

Okay, maybe it's time to go inside.

So Marci takes advantage of Rubisel's rare thoughts of commitment (he has commitment issues):

That's a yes.
...or maybe he just liked the ring, who knows.

This is an exciting update (and also my last until Monday).

Because Marci's formal wear is such an embarrassment, and also because she really only has the one mermaid friend at this point, and also because I am impatient and there really is no reason to wait, the two decide to wed on the spot now that the proposal is out of the way.  I can't imagine having a fancy wedding with a dress and cake and decorations when Marci is broke, unpopular, and poorly dressed.

You know, you can't tell in screenshots because it looks like no time has passed, but I spent a good 5-10 minutes repeating romantic emotes trying to get "ask to move in" to come up.  I believe I tried for a while before proposing as well.  It never did (I don't know if that is a commitment issue thing or what).  I really wanted to save marriage for that 5k wish.  I guess another Conroy will get that one.

Rubisel may be disappointed, and so may I be, but it is what it is.  So they exchange rings, vows, and a kiss.  Scout is their only witness, and she just sleeps through the whole boring ordeal.

It's really too bad it happened on a full moon.  Maybe it is appropriate for a werewolf to experience a big event during a full moon, but it makes for low quality pictures.  Not a big fan of how everything glows.  It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't SO bright.

Marci is completely taken by his undressed form (his sleep wear), and he seems surprisingly pleased at being married:

So here is the exciting part.  House upgrades!!!   It turns out Rubisel owned a house.  Marci has to stay on her lot so I was left with no choice but to sell the house.  He also had a car and a jet ski.  So Rubisel came to us with a decent amount of money, about 35k simoleons.  I hope it is within the rules to keep all of that.  It allowed me to really do a LOT of work on the house, although it is mostly just walls, windows and flooring - I saved some of the money to put into the resort.  Windows are expensive, and the only reason I could afford these was probably because I already had all the downstairs walls up prior to Rubisel joining the family.

I think a large chunk of this update is going to be taken up with screenshots of the house, but its a big deal.  There will be 7 generations here after all, and their lives will largely revolve around this place.

Note:  I'm sorry about the quality of these pics.  They're a little dark because we can't afford lights yet.

Front

and back

This isn't a very good pic of the downstairs layout.  It's also missing a door, but I will show you that shortly:

And here is the upstairs.  At last, an actual bedroom.  Two in fact, although more will be added in the future.

A shot of the future kitchen - we can only afford this small bit of counter space so far.  But at least they have places to eat now rather than the toilet and bathtub.
Please note Rubisel still excited about being married.  He seems to be shaping up to be a much better husband than he was a boyfriend.

Okay, so it turns out Rubisel also had a dog, Ladybug.  I didn't even know until he moved in!  He never mentioned it.  Here she is:

Yep, she is invisible.  She also has the destructive trait.  If you look closely in my screenshot of the front of the house, you can see her actively shredding a newspaper.  Here she is digging a hole:

This is a really big problem, because I can't click on her to scold her and teach her no.  I tried using "resetsim" and I also turned the game off, but she didn't fix herself when I started it again.  At this point I don't really know what to do and don't have the funds nor the desire to keep a dog that will destroy everything.  So Marci put her up for adoption.  Scout knows something is up.

Afterwards, she really doesn't feel great about having to do that.  But anyway, here you can see the door I mentioned the ground floor screenshot did not have.  This is the future living room and the archway leading into the foyer.

The guy shows up to take Ladybug away.  I felt really bad about it.  I mean, the sad music started to play and everything, and Rubisel sat out there and watched her go.  She has her little thought bubble of her own picture, like she is wondering why we don't want her as she is taken away... I mean, it was super sad you guys.  I hated it.

I thought Rubisel would be upset, but then he cheered!

Come on, Marci.  We just got rid of a dog for this.  Literally, you can still see the guy's car outside.  This is why we don't have any furniture.

So I don't have a picture of it, but Marci completed her opportunity to write a drama.  It wasn't a hard opportunity, as I mentioned in an earlier update, she had already been writing her drama, "Oar and Geese" and it really didn't take long to finish it and the opportunity.  So now she has this one, which just popped up.  It is her third and last to complete this portion of her dynasty requirements.

I find Karlie Goldberg sprinting up a hill in what appears to be her formal attire.

I thought Marci needed to talk to her to write her story (opportunity star in town map led straight to her), so I had her hop in a cab to meet this woman.  When she got there, I discovered that is apparently not the case, she can just write the biography without knowing a single thing about this girl.
Marci:  Well that was a waste of time.  I feel stupid for arriving.
Quick, rock paper scissors!  Good cover.

Marci goes to the library to start this thing, which we title "Formal Running".

So life goes on.  Rubisel takes up painting because I have nothing for him to do while Marci is at the library all the time.  He is off work for a few days for his marriage.
(Still no lights in the house)

Funds slowly trickle in from book sales, the resort, and Rubisel's job.  I still have Scout hunting as much as possible - I believe she is a level 10 hunter by now but I can't remember (I'm well ahead of this point in game right now).  The next thing we buy is a row of kitchen counters.  Yep, wood countertops.  I am such a fan of those cuttingboard counters you see sometimes in real houses!

Marci:  Bam!

Marci:  I can't believe I just did that, I'm so embarrassed.

First painting sold for a whopping 37 simoleons!

Maybe Rubisel cheered because he doesn't even know Ladybug is gone. I'd imagine it's pretty easy to lose track of an invisible dog, after all. I always love seeing Dynasty houses towards the beginning of the game, watching them mature and grow from their (extremely) humble origins.

Ha, I hope that is the case, because I felt pretty bad for poor Ladybug that nobody wanted her.
I like watching houses grow too.  Its interesting how people go at it different ways, such as only doing one room at a time or something.  I prefer to get the entire house done and then furnish/decorate as it goes along.  It's kind of funny, my house went without siding for the longest time.  But I would rather see the structure done than make it pretty.  And then I want permanent fixtures like lights and counters and bathrooms done first, too.  But then, I usually have a very firm idea of how I want the house to look already and I get the impression a lot of people just wing it.

Thanks, I can't wait til you get to see the finished product.

So first off, look at this little guy who came through the library while Marci was there writing.  This is Rubisel's nephew (Marci's too, now).  I took a screenshot of him because it was interesting to see him come through and I thought he was a cutie.  I have already had my second generation and I have to say they resemble this kid a LOT.
Everado Ichtaca:  NO PICTURES!!
My bad.

Marci:  I'm starving, can I go home yet?

That night, the Conroys have a visitor.

This has to be one of the silliest things I have seen in this game:

So my little couple decided to confront this thief on their own.

And so of course it escalates into this (Marci is pleased as punch)

Yeah I definitely had to post this one!  Walking back into the house in his underwear, proud and victorious!

Because I want to increase the cash flow, I start focusing on getting Rubisel promoted while Marci is away writing.  He heads to the park to skill up on logic.

And after finishing up at the library that night, I send Marci out to hunt.  I have decided to work towards skill challenges in writing and collecting.

A little more money brings a little bit of furniture to this corner, As well as a kitchen table (I like mismatched chairs).  Also, ignore that bit of wall sticking out to the right of the couch.  It happened when I added the new room (you will see below) and I didn't notice it until afterwards.  It has since been deleted.

Marci approves!

Rubisel came with a fair amount of scuba diving skill, and had a wish to head out to the water.  Unfortunately he got into a fight with a shark.

During the full moon, this zombie actually came in and sat down to use a computer at the library.  I dunno!

But it made Marci uncomfortable, so Rubisel surprised her with this.  This ends the trips to the library!  We are all so relieved.  They also now have this skilling/office sort of room.  Marci has much closer access to the bathroom, not to mention the fridge.  No more wasting time traveling across town!  No more food in her inventory!  I am now able to keep her in a much, much better mood most of the time.

I catch Marci about to cook something and had to stop her.
Marci:  when can I have puppies?
Okay, first of all, we're looking for a witch nooboo, not another werewolf or puppies of any sort.
And second, you don't deserve nooboos when your counter tops are that filthy.

On that note, you see they have gotten the rest of their counters and cabinets.  The kitchen is now complete, except for window coverings.  I did buy 2 stoves just simply because I love how it looks.  So far I haven't had a problem with keeping Marci away.  I stay on top of her hunger so she is in a good mood for writing, and really, most of the time she just grabs a snack out of the fridge rather than going for an entire cooked meal.  The few times she has, its easy enough to stop.  Rubisel cooks a lot and there's always leftovers.  Also, being a werewolf, she tends to lick dirty plates clean to satisfy herself.

Eventually Marci masters the writing skill, and that would be her very first 5000+ point wish.  I was not smart, though, and didn't screenshot the wish itself.

Meanwhile, the bedroom happens:

I don't know if my decorating skills appeal to anybody other than myself.

I want to save the next events for my next update, so I figure I will use my last few allotted pics to show you Marci's wardrobe (and I guess you will see the living room too).
Now, bear in mind I have zero fashion sense at all, but here is what she currently has (her everyday outfit has stayed the same).

Marci's favorite color is orange, so....
Her athletic wear

formalwear

and sleepwear

Forgot about her swimwear.
But here is a shot of her writing in werewolf form in her new pajamas.

Also, say goodbye to Rubisel as you knew him.  He came home from work one day...

And aged up into an elder.

I hadn't even realized he was that far into his adult life.  Granted, a fair amount of time has passed since they were married - I know screenshots are misleading on how much time really has passed but hey, it was enough time for Marci to max her writing skill, as well as to build the funds to add a nice amount of furniture into the house.

Yeah, the police have never exactly been known for their competence. I guess that's why law enforcement jobs are in such high demand!  :P

Out of curiosity, when you did your makeover before and you had that age reset glitch, did you use the Stylist station? (the mirror and dresser combo that came with Ambitions) That will reset your age, no matter who uses it.

No, I didn't give her a makeover at all on that glitch.  It happened when she got a promotion, and the game changed her clothing.  It took me forever to figure that out, but I found somebody else mention it when I googled and sure enough, I noticed it only after her career outfit change.  In this game, I don't have the stylist placed in town, and they don't personally own the station.

I saw one person say that their wolf changes appearance but only for certain outfits, whereas in other outfits their sim retains their custom look they did in CAS.

Oh, also I have read about them getting their appearance altered when they age up.  But Marci aged already and that didn't happen to her either, fortunately.  Regardless, I waited until after she had completed her requirements to change her outfits just in case it did reset her age.  I just posted the screenshots early because I had some extra space in the post to do so, and didn't know if I would have the room to post them later.

This is not a super exciting update.  A lot was accomplished in this one, though!!

I didn't get a picture of Marci's first 5k+ wish (Master Writing), but I did resolve to get pictures of the other 4.  I was actually really worried about getting these wishes, I hardly ever see anything above 2500.  But it seemed like once she got far enough into her career, they all just came up at once and it was no sweat.

Her writing skill challenges were also cake:

The hardest part was by far the collecting challenges.  It just took me SO long to do.  It wasn't like writing where I could just ultra speed through it and only stop to take care of her needs.  I didn't take a lot of screenshots of her collecting, it was just the same thing over and over.  Not interesting and too tiring and annoying to really bother with.  But she finally managed.  Here is the screenshot, it's the best I could do to fit all 3 together in one shot:

As for the happiness rewards, those were very easy to get.  Between the huge wishes she was getting, the time that passed, all of the smaller wishes, and fulfilling her lifetime wish, she had plenty of points to spend.  Heck, even Rubisel had a ton of points.  Here is a list of the rewards she purchased:
(1)Hotel Mogul
(2)Entrepreneurial Mindset
(3)Alpha Wolf
(4)Acclaimed Author

With that done, it's time for some big changes.  First, we finally got the siding on the house.

And it is also time to put Marci's items in the mausoleum - which meant I actually had to build one.  I googled pictures of some and just tried to copy their look, and I have to admit I had a ton of fun with it.  The statue I got for free!!!  Apparently we were robbed.  I must not have had my volume up because I had no clue until I got the pop up.  The thief was caught this time, and the police checked the house to see what was taken.  Then about 8 items I had never even owned were placed in my inventory, including the statue.

In usual Marci fashion, she sat and made faces while I tried to get a picture.  As for the interior of this mausoleum - it's quite small and I wasn't sure I'd be able to fit all 7 generations.  But it is 2 stories.  If I give each person a corner like this, then all will fit with 1 spot leftover in the end.  So I know the corner thing is a bit weird, but it works.

Scout aged up to elder.  I bought her the young again potion because I really love this little dog (I don't give it to her right away though so you will see her as an elder for a little while).

Rubisel also got the young again potion so he'll be around to be best friends with his future child.

With that, it was time to do the nursery.

Here we go!  The fun part begins!

Marci and Rubisel are making a very nice income at this point.  Marci makes over 30k a week.  Rubisel is making a bit over 700 a day.  The resort is bringing in 5k every couple days.  And that is not even beginning to talk about the hundreds of things sold from Marci's collecting.

So...I updated the resort property.  I completely deleted everything on the lot (which gave me even more money) and started over on a rebuild.  I sent Marci to the resort to relax after all that Dynasty work, and thought it would be the perfect opportunity to take some shots of the new place.

So here's the pool:

The banquet area and outdoor, over-the-water seating... complete with karaoke for entertainment:

(By the way, anyone recognize the blue jacket on that person dining at the table?)

Above the food room is a little gym:

It has it's own deck with a hot tub (I should tear down the railing right in front of it, huh?  Kind of ruins the view..):

Here is an aerial view of the entire place.  The "office" building is just the desk, seating area and bookcase on the ground floor.  The top floor is a mini arcade.  I didn't bother with pics as it's nothing special.  I raised the prices and the resort is definitely bringing in a very nice amount of money.  Unlike with the house, I didn't already have a plan in mind, so this just kind of came together on a whim.  It was fun, but I wish there was more space!

Marci!!  You're squishing my heir!

Scout also came along for the trip:

I will leave you with Marci, doing the pregnant walk:

Marci enjoys a dinner plate at the resort.  This old man kept on following her everywhere!  He continuously sat at the table with her, and when she got up to get another plate, so did he, and when she sat down at a different table, he joined her.

So he was a little panicked when this happened.

Finally!  I'm so excited!  Marci heads to the hospital!

Poor Scout was left behind at the resort and had to run home in a very bad mood.

Meanwhile, Rubisel sprinted the entire way to the hospital to meet his wife.  I guess guys tend to lose their heads in situations like this.
Rubisel:  Rubisel does not ride in taxis.  Maybe Watcher should consider buying Rubisel a car.  Somebody sold mine when I got married.
Fair enough.

And so....
It's a boy!
This completes Marci's final 5k wish.  I don't know if it even counts and I might have failed the dynasty at this point.  I believe I should have had 5 wishes prior to the child being born, even prior to her getting pregnant - not 5 wishes completed at the same time as the child is born.  But it doesn't matter, you will see I fail for sure in generation 2.  I will keep going.

Marci is completely exhausted after the experience.

His name is Rob.  I've decided to give all kids names beginning with the same letter as the name of their spare parent.  Just a little way to honor the ones who contribute so much to the generations.

He was born a genius and artistic!!!  What wonderful traits!

But sadly, he is a werewolf and not the heir we were hoping for.

Here are some pictures of Rob's infancy.

Well, there are only so many pictures you can take of an infant that lays there being useless.  Marci spends a lot of time rocking with him.  And they try again immediately.

The crib is going to be needed again soon, so Rob is caked up once I was sure Marci was pregnant.  I want to get as much toddler time with him as possible, and I only have a few days before the next kid is born.

Here he is!  Aged up into pink!

His favorite color is actually aqua.
Here is a closer up picture of him.  I don't know how all of you get screenshots so close up of the toddlers and babies.  My screen/camera just won't zoom in close enough.  I don't know if it is the way I built the house (is it because it's not on a foundation?  but no - I can't get a good shot on the 2nd floor either) or what the problem is but I just can't get the camera so close to the ground, and I can only get a good shot of my nooboos when they are being held.

To be honest with you, he is completely adorable.  He does get new clothes though because pink just won't do, and a new hair style.
Marci and Rubisel have a lot of fun with him!  He successfully trains all 3 toddler abilities - I know as a spare it doesn't matter for him, but it's good practice for me in regards to getting routines and mood managing down, and it just doesn't feel right to not train him in these things.
