Master Controller lying to me
« on: February 14, 2014, 11:54:11 PM »
Hello,

I have been experiencing an issue where I cannot have kids on my game...
My current family is formed of 4 sims and 4 cats. If I'm right, the base game allows 8 sims and 6 pets.

However, I have MasterController, Woohooer, Mover and PortraitPanel. I may be forgetting one but I know I have all the necessary mods to have more than 8 sims in a household. I checked, the settings are set to allow more than 8, yet I still cannot have my two adult sims to try for a baby. Why is that and can someone help me?

I don't use mods, so I can't help with that part of your question.  However, I wanted to point out that even though the game allows 8 Sims and 6 pets, the overall household size cannot exceed 10.  Just so you know.  :)

Did you make sure to set the right setting under MasterController to allow for more than eight sims per household? It's under Settings -> Allow More Than Eight Sims Per House -> True (it's set to "False" by default). Woohooer allows for sims to Try for Baby when the mother's house is full by default, and PortraitPanel should work automatically.

Thank you Pam for clarifying that for me. However my household is currently at 8 and no-one is pregnant (I'm trying to get the mom pregnant...).

Thank you for reading my post Trip. Yes, MasterController is on True for that setting. I was previously playing with a 12 sims household, and it was working properly. I simply switched active household to populate my town a bit.

Could it be because the mother gave birth on the same day I'm trying to have her try for a baby or is there no "Cooldown" on the Try for baby action?

I have updated all my mods, as well as the game itself. Didn't solve the issue.

However, the female was at 0 days until adulthood, so I triggered her age transition. Now, I can try for baby. That is why it was causing problems. Thank you for your tips. :)

Haha, I'm late to the party but I was just about to say, if the female is on her last day of her agespan she can not try for a baby (successfully).
I'm glad you got it figured out!
