Criminal can't work anymore

  So, I'm going through my ABCs of Lifetime wishes for my sims, and I'm currently on Master Theif LTW. Every day(well, night) he went to work just fine, got promotion after promotion so now he's at safe-cracker. But now, it gives the little alert that the carpool will show up. It does. The "going to work" thing flashes, then gone. I try over and over again. Click the car, go to work, flashes then it's gone. Same for if I click on the building itself, and also when I click the thing in career section. I'm kinda starting to stress out... Does anyone have suggestions? For now, It's on to Astronaut until I can fix poor Patrick...

EDIT: I even tried Resetsim. Didn't do anything.

Try planning a new career outfit for him at the dresser. One of my sims had the same problem too, but a new outfit did the trick.

How in the devil did you even come up with that idea?

You could also try just manually putting your sim in the career outfit. The criminal career is so bugged it's not much fun to play it anymore.

I recently had two criminals (one in each branch), and they seemed to go through their careers bug-free. Is there anything I should have looked for?

I had an issue when I was trying to play Emperor of Evil when I first started playing The Sims 3 in December. I can't remember what went wrong, but I know it irritated me then, too. I think I may just start the Master Theif game over. Oh well. My sim is saved in the library so I can just try again, ya know?  Thanks for the suggestions! I know what to try if it happens again xD

Well, what Gracefulclutz said, and sometimes I would be able to send them to work but it wouldn't register until midnight so they wouldn't get paid and it was much harder to get promoted. I posted about it on here and it's supposed to be a bug related to getting promoted shortly after midnight. It's very frustrated if you do get the bug.
