origin stopped working

I tried to play sims 3 yesterday but when I try to start nothing happens I got a message yesterday about verifying my origin account so I verified my account then nothing works I cant even get on to the website

Hi,

verifying your Email-Account doesn't have an effect on playing Sims. (I still haven't verified my account to this day.)

But have you installed the latest Origin Version? Because they've released a new one the other day. Maybe that could help?
