Can you rename bicicles to?

And Leto, yes it works for bicycles too.  James doesn't have the 'vehicle enthusiast trait' but after two sim weeks of riding his bike everywhere, the option to name his bike appeared along with it showing up in his relationship panel.

Note:  And after a 'people week' my poor Sim that I was worried about that has the trait was finally able to name her car!  She is James' wife.  The option appeared two Sim days after James.

Aha! I think that info will be very handy for the guide. Thanks for sharing. :) I don't have to buy this game. I will get it for my birthday from a friend. :D

I'm also still trying to figure out how this works. After I installed the most recent patch it appeared.
One of my sims, myself actually, who didn't have this personality trait suddenly had her car listed as her best friend in the relationships panel.

I made another sim and gave her the vehicle enthusiast trait, a motorcycle and the most expensive car.
Without driving anywhere she had the car listed as her best friend.

Can you get more than one vehicle listed in your relationships panel?
This seems such a waste of a trait because other than have an extra friend and giving your car a name, it doesn't do anything!
You should be able to name your car without having to sacrifice a personality trait for it.
It's a shame they didn't program this trait to be able to maintain or upgrade parts of your car or something.
I thought this trait would give you the ability to build your vehicles, but sadly not.

I never replied as to whether I got a social bar boost from my Sim riding his Beast. He didn't, but then, he doesn't have the Vehicle Enthusiast Trait. Then, Verde, his Beast, got stolen, so he's starting all over with another green Beast.

You don't need VE to be friends with your vehicle or to name it, so does it just make that process faster/easier? There's nothing wrong with new vehicles and clothes to go with them, but why add a new Trait? I remain baffled.

As I posted on the 14th, my Sim with the Vehicle Enthusiast trait took longer for the 'Name your Vehicle' and the relationship to appear than did her husband who did not have the VE trait.  He only rides his bike back and forth to work, but she drives all over Twinbrook.  I was very surprised when it showed up for him first.  He is now good friends with his bike.

It did add a new friend for his Charisma skill to go to the next level.  Other than that I see no reason for these options unless something more will happen in the future.

Oh! Thank goodness for this topic, I thought I was going nuts when this happened in my game :

But now I know it is just a new feature from Fast Lane Stuff. Huh! I would have never figured that out.

The only real "bonus" I can see to it, other than the one extra friend, is that you can access the vehicle menu by clicking on the portrait in the relationship tab. Good times!

Are we sure the relationship with the vehicle doesn't affect anything else? When I first saw my Sim's car in her relationship panel, I thought perhaps higher relationships would result in better speed or better performance or something. It'd sort of make sense - when you get to know your car, you know what it's capable of and how best to drive it. Once you'd worked out any flaws or quirks your car had, you'd have enough attachment (and reason) to name it. Opinions...?

Sounds interesting. But I can't test it, because I don't have the stuff pack. I guess you don't have it to. :)

I don't have the Stuff Pack either, but my game's fully patched, so I have the Vehicle Enthusiast trait and the car naming/relationship options.

Okay I just tested it out then (whether relationship with a car affects its speed). I tried it with a few different types of car at a few different relationship levels, aaaaaand... Nothing! I'm disappointed.  :'(.  Oh well, it was worth testing it out anyway.

So the VE trait is useless, unless you want to name your car and have a relationship with it?

Welcome to the forum, Morbid. The only other thing that comes to my mind would be a quick source of friendship between one VE and another VE with a "Enthuse About Cars" type of social. I'm only guessing here as I have not seen that social myself, but when two artists, musicians, bookworms, etc get together they can always do the "Enthuse" types of socials. And those seem to be the very fastest way to build a friendship when you just spam those socials. But, aside from that, yeah...it leaves a little to be desired, doesn't it?  ;)

Thanks. And indeed, it seems as if the "High end Loft" SP was better, and all it had were stuff. But they were pretty great. But except the cars, "Fast Line" is quite useless.

Now I'm really curious if this trait can be considered as being useless or not. Maybe it is usefull for storytellers or movie makers in the game. Not sure if we have those players around here on the forum but if this trait comes with a few motions or emotions that seperates the character (sims) from other sims that doesn't have the trait it can be usefull in another way than we've expected.
