Free Sims 3 Town Life Stuff!

For those who don't own the Sims 3 Town Life Stuff, you may get it for free.   

EA is offering this as a sort of anniversary/birthday gift for the Sims franchise.  If you own the Sims 3 base game, and are registered on Origin, you can get this Stuff Pack for free.

This offer expires Feb. 10, 2014, so you do have some spare time to get it.  I also don't know if this link is good for anyone outside the US, so hope that isn't a problem for anyone else.

Is anyone else having trouble redeeming this? When my friend and I hit the link, it brings up a new page, but that page never loads. If you reload it, it just brings you back to the email. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? I already own it, so I don't know if that's why it's not working for me. But my friend doesn't and it's not working for her  If anyone has any ideas on how to make it work, that would be great!

Anyways, I can confirm it not loading properly on my end (like you, I already own it, but was going to show it to a couple friends).  I have a feeling it is something on EA's end. 

Addendum:
My friend was able to get through.  After they logged in, and the screen acted up, they hit the above link one more time, and it took them to the screen to claim the Stuff Pack.  Of course, this may not work for someone else.

It's OK to post it, but we're not EA and can't provide a definite solution to problems they're having. On a related note, it's just an error on their end and they're working on it. They're posting on Twitter about it (by the looks of it, it's still broken -- I have Town Life already so I can't test it. )

I was able to get through just a minute ago.
The problem is that button. It's being blocked by antivirus and antimalware programs (specifically for me, it was Avast)
I temporarily disabled Avast and was able to get through, redeem it, and then turn Avast back on. (I had to go into Settings in my browser, turning off the main program did not work)

Thank you for sharing! My penchant for free stuff was enough to get me over my aversion to downloading the Origin client, so unless something goes kablooey I should have my first stuff pack ever in a short while. I generally prefer physical discs, but at this price, whatever.

I get that, I just wanted to make sure my friend and I weren't the only ones having a problem. She said she was able to get it, so it seems like it's working. I have it too, so it was harder for me to help her.  Thanks, Seabody!

It took awhile, but now it's showing up in My Games in Origin. Now it wants a code to actually install it, but I don't have a code. Checked my email, but there wasn't anything sent to it. Anyone know what's up with this?

Sorry to hear there are still issues

Well, as of the time of my posting, the Sims 3 twitter feed says they are aware of people having problems installing it.  In fact, the announcement is this:

We are aware of the reports of players who are unable to install Town Life Stuff. We are currently working on a fix & will keep all updated.

So, they may get it resolved.  On the other hand, this may be something you may want to talk with customer support about.

Still waiting for mine to show up in My Games. Oh well, it said it could be 72 hours, and it's only been about 26. One step at a time I guess.

Rhoxi: try looking in the Origin window under My Games, and click on the info button next to the Stuff Pack.  It should list the registration code (doing this from memory).
