Laggy, then freezes, and then BOOM CRASH!
« on: February 03, 2014, 09:39:39 PM »
So I have all of the Game Expansion Packs and Stuff Packs. I am up to date on all the Patches and everything. I do have Custom content, and my computer meets the requirements of the Sims 3 game.

I've cleaned all of my DCBackup files and the special Stand alone files and yet my game still starts to lag after 3 minutes of playing, then freezes when my sims go to sleep, and then it crashes or I have to bring up task Manager to force stop it. Why is this doing this to me?!?! And how do I fix it?

And Please no Technical stuff, I'm not smart with computers.. :(

Thank you.

Hi Jm29129,

Even if you're computer meets Sims 3 specs, it may lag, freeze and sometimes crash due to having all the expansion and stuff packs and custom content.

However, would you please post the error message you are getting so we maybe able to help you further?

In the meantime, try running the game without the custom content to see if that may help.

Hope this helps, :)

It doesn't come up with an error message at all, just says "Sims 3 has quit responding" Thats all.

I found a couple of links that may help.

Lags & Intermittent Freezes
http://sims3.crinrict.com/en/2011/04/bug-lags-intermittent-freezes.html

Game Crashes (CTD)
http://sims3.crinrict.com/en/2011/01/error-game-crashes-ctd.html

If you find these don't help, please post back so we can try to help further.
