And I've turned it off and took long breaks from it to let it cool
Down, but to no avail. It worked perfect before I installed pets. So that leaves me with the option of just going back to the sims 3 with no expansions, but I love the animals and was so looking forward to playing with them.. :(

Is this problem happening in all your towns?  (or both of them, if you have just Sunset Valley and Appaloosa Plains)  I ask because I have a good computer and my game usually works fairly well, but there are some towns that I find unplayable because they are so laggy.  For me, the towns that have most caused problems are Appaloosa Plains and Starlight Shores, but I don't think that's necessarily the case for everyone.

Hi Jody,

Yep, I'd try creating a new game to see if that helps. You can save your family either to the library and/or "share" them to have them saved for backup.

So should I not try Appaloosa plains because it's been deemed leggy too? Suggestions for good towns? Will I lose the dog and cat park I placed in sunset valley?

You could backup your current save game to make sure you don't loose anything.

How To: Saving folders/files to use on a different computer or to use as backup

Or if you want to just save the pets park you could save that.

I'd start off with Sunset Valley in your new test game. See how the computer behaves, and if it works okay, maybe try Riverview if you have it?

I heard back from Hubby, he says if you continue to have problems make sure everything is set to Low in Graphics Settings in the Sims 3 Options. Restart the game to see if that helps. From what it sounds like, you've got an older graphics card with no shared memory.

No, that's not what I meant at all.  I said that was my experience, not necessarily what happens in everyone else's games.  I think it's always a good idea to try different towns to see which one works best for you.  :)

Good news!! I opened a town in Appaloosa plains and it is running great! It is a family that was already moved in so I'm going to go back to sunset valley later and see of playing sims already living there work good too!
