sim boxes/sims disappered

Sorry I know this has been asked before.I bought the cd vers. of sweet treats,diesel,70,80,90,movie stuff packs,monte vista,dragon ally,island paradise,and into the future when the were b1g1 and installed them in order(sweet treats and diesel is out of order).now everytime in goto uni or future come back home action boxes or sims all together are missing.I did the nraas thing and delete catche files to no avail.is there any other way around this so I can accually play the game?tried new patches,did not fix...also only DLC stuff are from the store only. no custom

Are the sim boxes gone or are they just greened out?

they are gone.this is the second time it has happened since installing new eps and packs.

Hi Icedone,

I'm not sure I entirely understand the problem you're having, but when I was researching some Sims 3 problems I came across something that sounds similar to what you might be experiencing.

If all else fails, go back to a previous save, if you have one.

your link is very close.I will explain again.my game was fine no problems what so ever,then I bought the add on packs above and installed them,I sent my sims on vacation and upon return home the screen was on my house but my sims were not there and the boxes on the left,where you change from sim to sim were gone,not greened out completely gone and sims were nowhere to be found in game play or town edit.started second game (In dragon valley this time)built sims up and when into the future and upon returning same happened,used nraas then sims were in house but no boxes on left to swith between them,did town edit and same,sims there but cannot control them.and since my 1st post started new game,when to the future,return,and no boxes or sims....

I have had this happen sometimes. It is a fairly common travel bug (not as common as the green square one) and there is nothing to be done when you get it except go back to an earlier save. Sometimes when you save while on vacation and the glitch appears when you travel home, you can exit without saving and then the next time you travel everything will go off without a hitch

I have usually encountered this save when arriving at the vacation world, not when going home, so I would suggest always saving before you travel as well as while you travel. And also to always use save as, rather than save, so that you have a backup save in case of this kind of bugs.
