In the "Nix" of Time: A Short Dynasty (9.15.18)

Ok, so a lot went on, so I get this update will consist of 2 chapters.

Chapter 22: Lot'ta Birthdays
Based off of the title of the chapter, there's a whole lot'ta birthdays in this update. I should also likely set up a family tree, as there's now a lot of family to go around thanks to Story Progression. As my pictures upload for this chapter, some family fun bits starting from the eldest:
>Tessa had a long running relationship with Milton Dickson, they had one child - a boy named Elias. They were off and on and off and off and off as far as relationships go. I would literally hear about them "stalking" each others homes. They were both hopeless, they did that until Milton died. Tessa is still alive in my game. I went ahead and put Milton's grave in the family graveyard because even though he and Tessa didn't really have a strong relationship that kept them together - they had Elias and they never seemed to let go of the other.
>Aiden was really into a lot of girls for a long time. For a while I was sure I wouldn't see any children from him, until after a Sackholme-Ordhen woman came along and gave birth to his daughter Precious (Precious? Really?). He's always getting into trouble with women and has many relationships at once. He's only been married once (to a woman older than he) and kept the name of their marriage after she died (which didn't take long, otherwise it would've ended in divorce).
>Dekit and Franny moved out and got pregnant right away. I was once notified that they got into a fight (singular) on the sidewalk, but after that all Story Progression can say about them is how adorable they are and what a perfect couple they're shaping up to be. They have a son and a daughter right now whose names escape me. I'll try to put them in the next update.

Anyways, onto the people you have been following this whole time:
Rose rolled a wish to go to the park after coming home from a field trip, I obliged her. She roller-skated with the same guy who owns the Elixir Shop.

We have officially 6 Sim-hours before Reid takes over as heir, and as such, I've been pushing Reia for a few more points out of her. She went straight to the library with tabcasts in her ear to have a book of Alchemy pushed in her face.

Meanwhile, I was setting up at home for the after-midnight birthday party.

Wait, is that... four cakes?

It's official. Reid really can't think of anyone else he'd rather be with. He's gotten wishes for her left and right and as soon as one gets fulfilled he wishes for something else. I guess they're perfect for each other, he's inappropriate and she's a slob. Also, I do stand corrected prior on not acknowledging him as Shy. He definitely has that trait. I'll be darned.

Literally couldn't pull these two apart with a crowbar, and why would I? Look at that dopey face.

Meanwhile Sam became an old man outside.

"Wow these pants are awful."
That sucks, your outfit is seemingly fine, so you get to keep it until death do ye part.
"Gee, thanks Watcher."

As midnight rolls around and past, here we go:


Here comes the after pictures...

Rose aged up and gained the Disciplined trait to add to: Loves the Outdoors, Eccentric, Dog Person and Light Sleeper. She's pretty much a doll. She was the only one who hadn't picked a LTW out of the group, so she picked Paranormal Profiteer.

Reia aged up to gain the Hopeless Romantic trait to add to: Brave, Genius, Supernatural Fan, and Hates the Outdoors. She turned out so well. I'm really going to miss these girls.

Last, but not least, is Reid for his outfit showing:

AHHHH! Yay! Family Oriented! Now he's a Loner, Virtuoso, Shy, Inappropriate and Family Oriented. Interesting mix for a One-Sim-Band.



Now I suppose we have one last birthday, yes?


Reid immediately asked her to move in, and - drum roll please - she's Over Emotional, Slob, Genius, Handy and Coward with the same lifetime wish as Eliza. Just for information, her name is Stephenie MacAnna-Ordhen. Her grandparents are Daric Ordhen and Shannon MacAnna. Her mother has the weirdest skin-tone I've ever seen (it's pitch black). I can't remember her father's side of the family, but I'm pretty sure she's related to Calvin (previously viewed as one of the prettiest Sims I invited to the 'Let's find Reid a Mate' party).
After everyone took a quick trip in the Motive Mobile, Rose went out and got her job.

I need to make sure she takes care of herself when she moves out with her sister. Or at least, that's what I'm hoping to do. And Reid is the first Sim in sim-ages to ever wish to...

Propose. I literally haven't seen that wish in a year or two (man I've played the Sims for a long time).
"Shh, I'm trying to propose over here!"
Well excuse me. Do you want that wedding party or not?
"Yes please..."
Of course given he had the wish to Propose, it was no wonder that he wished to Marry her immediately afterwards. Here's her makeover:

And this is the nose I did everything in my power to make it blend.

If only her nose was a little thinner - then she would be drop dead gorgeous, but she's still a stunner overall.
One last thing to do before the girls are set free:

The portrait.
Sam and Ima are still as close as ever. Really, these two are adorable. I've been pretty lucky with how much my Sims love each other.

Before the girls moved out I wanted to complete Reia's lifetime wish (I was just so close).

That means Rose got a little more time at the Inventing table.

Which means one last buttfire for old-times sake.

Next up, a planned wedding, a SURPRISE wedding, a birth, and some goodbyes.

Ok! Before I begin I forgot to put in the last post that if anyone wants any Sims they see in here at all on the swap-shop to please let me know soon. These Sims kind-of die fast, so the sooner I know, the more likely I'll be able to fulfill putting the Sim up on the Swap Shop - for those who were worried I believe I have all of the bloodline children thus far already grabbed (Tessa, Aiden, Dekit, Sam). They don't have to be a part of the family for me to grab them, just let me know!

Chapter 23: Marriage(s?)
Today is the big day - the Marriage of Steph and Reid, I'll go ahead and jump to the guests arriving.
First up is Dekit, proudly sporting his negativity for Calvin:

Shortly after is Tessa, who looks a little absent-minded.

Then everyone else showed up. What? So sue me that I didn't want to grab a picture of everyone individually. There were more important things to do and it seemed as though some trouble was brewing. Oh wait, isn't that Rose's romantic interest?

Why is Ms. Dwyer-Lawless so upset? Oh... he's engaged.
Er... Rose?
"Shh, I'm too busy flirting with Orlando."
You do know he's engaged right? To the woman that's standing next to you, booing you?
"Oh, that old hag? She's as old as my mother! Believe me, she's got nothing on me!"
Well, I mean, that's true... I mean... Sam did pick your mother over her, and you are a version of your beautiful mother... so I suppose it does make sense that people would chose Ima over Johanna...
"Exactly. Now where was I- Oh! Wedding!"

"LABOR! AHHHH!"

Well, that escalated quickly, weren't you just like, barely pregnant yesterday?
I sent Eliza, the calm family-oriented, wonder-woman to take Ms. Ariel to the hospital to have her baby.

You think it's probably cruel to make the loving family member miss out on Wedding Cake? Well she got a 24 hour +80 "It's a Boy!" moodlet to make up for that. I love helping random townies have their children.
"Speak for yourself, I missed out on all that sugar-y cake."
Speaking of the cake! Reid and Steph just looked adorable as they cut the cake, I almost forgot that one was a slob that liked to fart and spread it around while the other laughs hysterically as others get older.

I had to take leave at this part though, because, dun-da-da-dun!

Congratulations Sam! I'm so proud of you!
"Thanks! I've worked really hard for this."
That you have, given how many times a week they would call you in to work.
"Did I miss all of my Son's wedding?"
Unfortunately so, however, it appears one of your children is determined to let you see them get married...
"What are you talking about?"
Well...

"So now that you've dropped that old hag for me, I think we should go ahead and seal the deal!"
So they did. They walked right outside to the wedding arch and a secondary - surprise - wedding took place. I was kind of sad, as I would've loved to dress Rose up in a whole wedding-shabang for this moment, but it was perfect all the same.

Except that I forgot to raise the house up a level! Curses! Oh well, at least Rose is cute enough to prevent others from noticing the random end of the house and the sky where there's supposed to be a second floor.

Rose soon moved in with Orlando and his cat Fitz. I thought it was sweet that they both turned and waved at the camera in unison as they left.


Random news: This is Elias Nix, son of Tessa and Milton.

I promise his face is a lot less creepy when he's not romantically fawning over the wedding.

So, now that the wedding is coming to a close and the house is slightly emptier than it was before since Rose moved out I decided I needed to get these two to work.

As did Reia, who was still only a few minutes away from maxing her third skill, Alchemy.

Sam also decided this was a good time to retire. I wish I would've thought that through a little more and waited until after I heard chimes coming from the shower...

Because it then took 12 more tries to get them to successfully enter the shower and try for a baby.
A little later:

Congratulations babe, you are free to do whatever you like. I'd like to spend those lifetime happiness points if you don't mind?
"Depends, are we getting yet ANOTHER motive mobile?"
No, actually I was thinking about an honorary degree.
"Really? You would do that for me?"
You've maxed 3 skills in the time it took Rose to get to level 8 in one, as well as maxed a career. You've so earned it.
She got a degree in Science and Medicine and got a job at the Hospital.

I wanted to make sure she was taken care of, especially since the Alchemy career likely won't pay very well for her.

Eliza finished one last upgrade before she and Reia took off for their own place and the start of their own lives.
Also, everyone would be pleased to know that as soon as Rose had left we seemed to get an announcement that she was pregnant and glowing. I'm a happy camper. Also, not too long after Reia and Eliza made the move did I hear that Eliza had gotten romantically involved with someone I had no idea who, so I clicked the picture.

Er, well, he's old, but whatevs. Funny enough, he looks a little like an older Noten from the Reapers legacy? Eerie.
Steph got to work maxing her logic and handiness right away. Thankfully, Eliza and Izzy both left some household objects that needed upgrading, so as soon as she's high enough in levels I'll let her get to work on those.

You're spot on in both.
Liam Mithrilen is Stephenie's father. Calvin's last name is Eames, but I don't know who exactly he's the son of (as he's not in the family tree/in the family for me to look at).

I just wanted to put him up with all of his other siblings, but I soon realized I didn't have Dekit or Sam and I had already taken my mods out and I wasn't ready to put them back in to play again. Forgive me? I'll have him up soon, I just wanted to put them all up at once.
Rose and Orlando are pretty cute together. They make me smile with how happy they are. I have no idea why Dekit didn't like Calvin... everyone was just kind of 'boo'-ing him. Poor guy, he seems like an ok guy to me.



Watcher Went Crazy
So readers, I sort of did something crazy.
Yeah, pretty crazy.
I save-as'ed right before hand, so here's the deal. I'm going to show you what I did, and you guys get to decide if that is actually how the story is going to go or not.
If not, I'll go back to my prior save-as and pretend like none of this ever happened.
So let me start from the beginning...
Once upon a time, there was a wonderful founder named Ara...
"TOO FAR." Everyone shouts (yes, that's all of you, readers). 
Er, fine, so this Ara had a son named Sam...
"STILL TOO FAR." Everyone shouts again.
ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT - I get it! So Sam married Ima and they had triplets. This is where our story begins, you see, with a woman named Ariel.
"Finally..."
"Took you long enough."
(Watcher takes deep breath in to calm nerves and mutters)No one appreciates my wonderful story-telling anymore... (She clears her throat) So Ariel O'Connell-Dellaney lived in a big house with her parents and her siblings. Ariel had a tendency to sleep with older men, which angered her parents and disgusted her brothers. Her parents encouraged her to marry and settle down, but she simply couldn't stop. When she got pregnant with her first child, everyone tried to stay supportive, but it didn't last long. First her siblings up and moved out, and when Ariel announced her second pregnancy, her parents moved out too. Ashamed of herself, she even shortened her name to Ariel O'Connell-Del. She lived alone with two screaming children in a large house and it wasn't long before she was pregnant with her third. Her support system had all died, including the men she had chosen to sire her children. She was alone, unstable, and quite the unfit mother.
"Aw... really?"
Well no? I'm not entirely sure. I don't know her life.
"But you just..."
Shh, this is our pretend world, where everything works out the way the watcher says it does. Now back to the story. Ariel was quite unstable, and always being used for her youth and beauty (that she's only maintained by having so many children). She was angry and frustrated with the world. Ima Nix would do her best to console her, but it was to no avail. The children were sleeping on the floor, starving and in unfit clothing. Ima couldn't help but feel an overwhelming urge to set something in motion. So she did.
"Oh sure, Watcher. I'm sure they were all 'miserable.' You lied about the intro so why not now?"
Hey! There actually wasn't a crib in that huge house, Ariel didn't have a job yet she was never home. Her oldest daughter had to watch her youngest two! I was being honest about the dead-beat stuff!
"Oh... Carry on then."

So Ariel was unstable and unhappy. Her eldest daughter could just sense what a toxic situation it was, but she was almost a young adult, and didn't want to be held back by her younger siblings. Ima had the solution though. She invited Ariel's oldest child over (who wishes to remain anonymous, as she's embarrassed by her situation, so we'll call her June) and held an impromptu birthday party for her - the first she had ever had.

"Aw, that heartwarming!"
I know, right?! So Ima expressed her deepest concerns for June's younger siblings. While Ariel's oldest was resistant to Ima at first, when Ima finally expressed her end-goal was when June finally fully understood and whole-heartedly agreed. June moved in with Olga and Cordell, and shortly moved out to start her own life - leaving Olga and Cordell to merge and become part of the Nix's.
"Well, that escalated quickly."
Cordell was pretty ecstatic, as he had been laying on the floor since he was born and he was excited to have his birthday.

Sam was very happy to have babies in the house once again, so he was happy to take Cordell to his cake.



Sam immediately got to work training his adoptive son. Cordell was pretty happy to have a father-like figure to look up too - in fact he had two of them, one in Reid as well, though Reid was usually only around to act funny and make silly music.

"What about Olga?! Huh? She's probably upset you took her mom away!"
Olga was actually in the red with her mother, which makes me sad. I'll work to rectify that later though. First things first, she got a makeover (long overdo, the poor dear) even though her birthday was merely hours away.



She also got straight to work on logic, a skill she had been eager to learn, Sam and Ima were eager to teach her too. Though she was possibly too eager, as she went to look through the telescope it appears something awkward caught her eye and scared her away from it.

Steph also announced her pregnancy.

Sam taught Cordell to talk.


And with a little boy in the house, I was given the option of possibly... encouraging a little girl out of Steph.

"Aww, a possible love story!"
No guarantees with them though, I would really prefer Olga to marry in - she's just so darn cute and I want that gorgeous red hair to pass on for generations, unfortunately, her little brother didn't get that awesome red hair.
So that's what I got readers, the question for you is, did this really happen?

I couldn't help it, I'm too excited with the new breakthroughs I've had. I literally can't stop playing this file. It's way too much fun.

Anyways, MediaFire is starting to respond a little more, so hopefully these next few updates will come through well.

Chapter 24: Graduation, Birthdays and Plotting
It was a quiet day at the Nix residence. The morning rose hazily, as it usually does. Everyone was quietly skilling or taking a ride in the Motive Mobiles when I was prompted that it was graduation day. Graduation day usually means a fair amount of lag for me, but I simply couldn't put it off any longer. Reid and Steph needed to graduate, along with half the rest of the town.

So everyone trooped across the road to the City Hall, wearing their Sunday-Best-Dress (well, not really, as I didn't design anyones formalwear, except for Stephs and Reids, and they're wearing gowns). They ran into some familiar faces at the graduation, including the girl who didn't win Reids heart (who was heavily pregnant) and Julius Orlando Nix (what a strange name, I've just called him Orlando, and in the beginning - Julius. Either way, he's Rose's husband).

For anyone who can't tell, Julius Orlando is a Pleasant-Hooley. He's the grandchild of Jennifer, John/Marian, Robin combo.
I severely regret not getting rid of Jennifer and John Pleasant-Burb, as they've had so many babies that they almost single-handedly dwindled the rainboo population down to minorities. They just. Won't. Stop. Breeding.

The girl who didn't become Reid's wife (I'm horrible, her name just isn't there in my mind. It starts with an A, but I'd rather not get it wrong) was beaming and glowing, happily showing her pregnancy off.
Graduation is always a hectic day for me.

So this is where the group split up and went about their day. Sam took Cordell to the library to study up on books, that didn't go so well, as he eventually got stuck and was force-reset by Overwatch, which left Cordell all alone.

I had left Reid in front of City Hall to perform for everyone and to get his tips up, but he eventually had to leave to get poor Cordell. Prior to that though, he had a fan out of his Aunt Franny.

For those who were worried, Cordell was never alone, in fact, I went to check on him and Reia was watching over him carefully - which is weird, as her final trait she got with her Honorary Degree meant that she would Dislike Children.

Back at the homefront, Olga was aging up to be a beautiful teen.


I never told you her traits though, did I? She's Insane, Grumpy, Genius and a Vehicle Enthusiast (as of this birthday).

I have her saved to my bin, as she's completely stunning as an adult - I mean, if you think she looks good now... just wait.
Ima and Steph were getting some Mother-In-Law/Daughter-In-Law time together, mostly, we just took time to figure out the gender of her baby.

Wait, what? Nooo! You were supposed to have a girl! You can't have a boy! Noo! Now it's set in stone! You had all 10 of your watermelons! Ahhh Why!? Why?! Why!?
"Chill out Watcher, I love my baby no matter what gender they are."
I NEED A PLAN B! I NEED A PLAN B! Quick! Olga! To the Bat-Mobile!

"Hi, I'm Olga, you fit all the qualifications my Watcher was looking for in a mate, and I think you're cute. Wanna be my boyfriend?"

"You're pretty forward, I like that in a woman."
"Dang straight you do, now we need to practice making babies."
"Wait, what?"
"I need to have a baby ASAP."
"Uh..."
"Don't worry, I'm still a teenager, practice just means making out."

"I guess..." Snogging noises. "Trying for a baby..." More Snogging noises. "Won't be so bad."
"Stop talking."
"Yes my'dear."

I had to send Sam over to grab Dekit and save him to my Bin, so here are his two beautiful children: Morgan and Sheree:


Now that Sam and Ima are getting even older, I've switched into "Wish-Fulfilling" mode.
Ima wanted to learn all the other potions, so I obliged her.

The "Wish-Fulfilling" mode stretched even to young Olga, who wished to learn to drive.


Reid taught Cordell the rest of his skills that Sam didn't finish.


Then he went back to rocking out for him while Cordell read himself toddler books.


Now my readers, I am one screenshot away from the cap - so I'll leave you with this picture as I prep the next update - I've still got another 70 or so screenshots to go through before we're all caught up. Stupid Mediafire.

Chapter 25: Births, Deaths and other Crazy Things
Olga had spent some time with her nan, Ima, learning how to garden.

Overall, Cordell and Olga really fit well into the family. They get along swimmingly with everyone else and they rarely ever wish to speak with their usual family.

Honestly, I think it's quite adorable how well they melded in with my dear family.
Ima got an invitation to visit Reia and have a get together with her, she immediately accepted. Reia's home is very beautiful, although I never imagined she would choose to live in a place that was so walled off (there's really no such thing as open floor plan in this house).

Shortly after Ima conversed with her, she got an important phone call - Rose went into labor! Ima was so excited at her first grandchild that she darted right over to the Nix-Pleasant-Hooley household to meet her beauitful granddaughter, Louisa.

Sam stayed with Reia, the daughter he always wished to be best friends with but never seemed to have the time to. I decided to right that wrong.

"I'm so proud of you Reia, no matter what anyone says."
"Aw, thanks dad."
"PILLOW FIGHT!"

That's my Nix family.
I was panned over immediately at this time, with the screenshot I left everyone off with:

"Birth!" She screamed. "Labor!" She breathed hard. "Owwww!"
Cordell: "Does this mean we don't get to finish that book Stephie?" He pouts. "Peg box time, I guess."
Ladies and gentlemen, with the birth of our heir, Felix Nix, we had a tragedy.

Tessa Nix, my Tessa, passed away that night. Ima did the honors of retrieving her grave and placing it in the family cemetery right next to Milton - the father of her son.

(Tessa-above, Milton-below).
Ima, despite the sadness of losing Tessa, was one happy grandma with two grandkids under her belt - she wished for five. Reid and Steph are done for now, but I soon got word that Reia was expecting, so I obliged Ima's wish.

Now where was Reid while Steph gave birth?

Outside. Playing his drums. It seems our heir may have a bit of his granddad Bradan in him yet.


Felix Nix, fourth generation heir, rolled the traits Perceptive and Artistic. This makes me excited.
After the crazy night, life resumed to a more normal pace.
Olga was tutored by Ima.

Steph continued working hard towards her lifetime wish.

Reid continued to smash his drumset to pieces practice his drums. He's thiiiiiis close to finishing.

Sam was bored with life, so he picked up the science skill. It's hard to slow those workaholic sims down.

And before we knew it, it was time to celebrate Cordell's birthday!

Cordell is a cute kid. He started out with the Athletic and Excitable traits, and soon gained the I'm a horrible watcher and can't actually remember for sure what he got, but I suspect Genius trait.

He moved in with Sam in the study room to work on painting. Sam was a little busy doing... well, science, I guess.
