Thanks McHazy.  I found my problem.  My Origin and Store account has been hacked.  That's why it couldn't log me in.  Apparently some guy in Tunisia is now enjoying my 18,000+ simpoints and all my CC.  Since I cannot prove I'm me and not the other guy, I will be a loooooooooong time before I get to enjoy this new venue... if ever.  But I did cancel my credit card so he cannot rack up any more bills for me.

Dude, I don't think we can. At least not through build mode, anyway.

Are others finding that the glassblowing/artisan skill increases really quickly?  I've just started using it, and my Sim's progress bar was moving up very fast.  By the time she had finished her first object, she was up to level 2.5 of the skill.  I sat and watched the skill meter steadily increasing.  She's an ordinary Human Sim.  She does have the Fast Learner LTR (or whatever the exact name of the LTR is), but I've never seen a Sim build any skill that quickly before, and her other skills don't increase nearly that fast.  I'm just wondering if this is typical for the skill.

I don't think the traits have much to do with it. My sims who have been glass-blowers have skilled up very quickly. A couple of things I've noticed -- you can't re-color the objects, but you can re-color the jewelry when it's in CAS; you can't sell what you make at the consignment shop, but you can sell the objects if you have the display tables from Midnight Hollow or Into the Future.

I don't remember all her traits, but she does have the Artistic trait, which I suppose might influence the Artisan skill.  But her painting skill doesn't increase nearly as fast as the Artisan skill.  She's only made two objects so far and I think at last count she was at about level 3.5 or 4.  I've never seen a skill increase that quickly, and I was wondering if this is a glitch in my game or if other people are experiencing the same thing.

My glassblower was also artistic, so I was wondering if that had anything to do with it or if all sims skill up the Artisan skill that quickly.

It increases skill really fast.  I used Xander Clavell as my test subject.  He is not talented or artistic.  He made a total of 26 items and mastered the skill - 6 items were masterpieces, 4 brilliant and the remainder normal quality items.
