Prism Art Studio - New Venue with Premium Content
« on: January 22, 2014, 05:23:17 PM »
Addition:
You can now purchase the Prism Art Studio Venue with its Artisan's Glassblowing and Jewelry Making Station.

Normally 1900 SimPoints, it is available for 1700 Simpoints until February 10, 2014.

You can find it here:
Prism Art Studio Venue

As some of you who follow the SimGurus on Twitter know, they've been teasing a new venue for February.  I didn't post much earlier as it would be considered speculation.  However, with the latest image seemed clear enough.   However, if the moderators feel this is still speculative, I will gladly delete this post.

However, the newest picture on SimGuruTatertot's twitter feed looks clear enough to suggest it is glass blowing:

The image is a little rough, as it was supposed to be in a stained glass style.

It looks more like a mosaic than stained glass, but I can definitely make out a rod with an orange orb on the end that the woman is holding, which certainly does suggest glass blowing/making. And it looks like the building has stained glass windows, perhaps they'll come with it as a build item.

SimGuruTatertot also hinted on twitter about the green blob on the left being something notable.

However the more notable part of this venue (in my opinion of course ;) )reveal is that SimGuruCopeland just tweeted this... He's said it is coming in a venue so I am assuming this venue but who knows.  :)

Proper two flight stairs without the hard work on making them ourselves anymore? Oh yeah! That would be awesome, and space saving when building houses.

An official release date hasn't been given yet, other than early Feb.

Certinly looks like glass blowing to me.  I can't wait to see what kinds of mechanics this will bring for items our sims can make.

Well, the SimGurus have finalized some more information on the new upcoming venue.  It is going to be called Prism Art Studio, and is due out February 6th

Here is the official Sims 3 forum link:
Prism Art Studio - February 6th

It will introduce a new Artisanal skill:  Glass Blowing

It will allow you to craft some new jewelry like necklaces and bracelets:

It will also allow glass partitions, chess sets, stained glass windows, beautiful glass containers,  glass gnomes and more!

You will be able to craft perfumes, as well:

And as mentioned earlier, the L-shaped stair cases.

L-shaped staircase? I already see a house build in my minds eye. I've failed at trying to build those stairs every single time. Excited!

L-shaped stair cases will be awesome! I've built them myself with CFE, but it's just not the same to look at during play becaue of the floor levels.

I'm so excited for this! Glass blowing, make your own jewellery and perfume? Yes please! The L-shaped stairs are just the icing on top of the cake.
From the moment I fell down that rabbit hole I've been told what I must do and who I must be. I've been shrunk, stretched, scratched and stuffed into a teapot. I've been accused of being Alice, and of not being Alice, but this is my dream. I'll decide where it goes from here.

This looks so cool! I was stunned by the perfume table, though. It is basically what I suggested when EA asked for our opinions:

Quote
a perfume stand where each perfume has a different effect on the user and the Sims around them (e.g one might make romantic actions easier or one might give the user a good moodlet about smelling nice)

I'm also very excited for the glass blowing and the L-stairs. I can see those being very versatile.
