Missing Time Traveller

I travelled to the future for the first time in my IP saved game, but when I got there, I was not greeted by Emit Revelart, the time Traveller. When checking my friend list, where he should have been is not even showing his avatar or his name just the word "acquaintance" but when I click on the icon it gives me options to text and such. Any idea why he would all of a sudden be missing? I met him in present day already, and he went back to the future...or so I thought 

EDIT: He is not even showing up at the community center. And apparently some of my descendants are living at the community center with me..there is only one "future resident" at the comm center. Is it the IP expansion that is causing this issue?

Hi there!  Sounds like your file might be messed up so I suggest going to:

Try resetting your Sim first.  If that doesn't work try a factory reset.  I have to admit I've had more trouble with this EP than any other but it is so fascinating I just keep plugging along.  Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions. I have tried both of these things but I am with you..frustrated. This was one of the EP's I wanted to try because you can't deep sea dive and find mermaids in any other town (that I know of) so I was looking forward to playing in that town. It looks like, for now, I can play other towns, but I still have lag and freezing issues - that I can deal with. But it's still disappointing that EA made a Sims 4, and still can't fix the bugs in Sims 3, don't you think?

This has always been a problem with most software companies.  They rush to get things out but don't finish fixing everything first.  I just deal with it and do a lot of do overs.

Have you updated your drivers lately?  Sometimes that helps.

Do you keep your cache files cleaned out before every game play?  My pc suffers a lot of lag and freezing even with a new cpu, memory and video card so I clean out everything I can and even empty my screenshots folder to a separate file. 

Have you checked your DC back up folder and removed all the files EXCEPT ccmerged file?  The ones the game needs will be replaced as necessary but DO NOT remove ccmerged package.

Did you call the time traveler before traveling and do the small opportunities he gives?

I have tried to update my drivers as much as I can, but sadly, there are no recent drivers that are available to support the graphics card I currently have. It's not an old card, and there are new drivers out there for my series of vid cards, but just not my actual model. It sucks really, but I try to deal with it as much as I can.

I delete my cache files and such after every game that I play, and I have tried to summon the time traveller before going into the future, but that option doesn't even work. He's nowhere to be found on my friends list in-game. I am going to try uninstalling and re-installing the IP expansion, hoping that will work. Thank you for all the suggestions and support

All is well! Uninstalling and re-installing the IP expansion seems to have fixed all my issues. I can travel to the future with no issues and the Time Traveller is there! This topic can be closed!
