I find imgur easy to use, although it took me a long time to find the Upload Image button.  ::) At the top, the second icon on the right of IMGUR, if you were wondering.

Entry Six: Toddler Time

The feeling was very familiar to Adam. The pull in his stomach, as if an invisible string was dragging him. He sighed, then changed into his cloak. He hated the old thing. But Sabrina had insisted on 'keeping up appearances'. Thankfully, it was rigged to disappear the moment the job was completed.

Adam closed his eyes, giving in to the invisible pull. There was a sudden whooshing sound and Adam felt his ears pop. He was gliding, nothing but empty space around him. Then, out of nowhere, bursts of bright color filled Adam's vision. He was almost there.

He had reached it, the Wolf Land. Before him knelt the ghost of Hyde Bone.

"Alright," Adam said to Hyde in a deep, powerful voice, "You're time in this world is over. I-"

Hyde suddenly cut in, "Please! I'm not ready to die! Please, have mercy!"

Adam rolled his eyes. He fought to hide the annoyance in his voice as he responded, "Nature has a very delicate balance. Saving you without a death flower would completely throw it off. You're coming with me, whether you want to, or not."

Hyde whimpered in response. Adam sighed. "Come on," he said, pulling the werewolf to his feet, "time to go."

As Adam touched the ghost, he frowned, concerned. Hyde had died from a fire, but when Adam's fingers closed around his wrist, the ghost flickered. For a split second, Hyde looked as if he had died from...

No, Adam thought, That's impossible, I made sure of that. And besides, ghosts don't 'flicker'. It was just my imagination

Adam shrugged off the dread that had suddenly came over him. What did it matter?
The wolf-man was dead. Nothing was going to change that. And besides, Adam had a
job to do and more important things to worry about.

Adam closed his eyes as he tightened his grip on Hyde's arm. The pull in his stomach guided him into the emptiness. Hyde gasped in fear and Adam murmured soothingly, "It's alright. We're just traveling to another Realm. It's nothing to be frightened of."

At that moment, the familiar colors filled Adam's vision. But there was something wrong. The second the colors appeared, a sharp pain shot through Adam's skull. He cried out and grabbed his head with his free hand. Hyde looked up at him, terrified.

"Almost there," Adam said through gritted teeth. But another, more intense pain caused him to scream. Adam almost lost his grip on Hyde, but he forced himself to close his hand even more tightly around the ghost's arm. It felt like his head was about to split open. Adam closed his eyes, silently begging for the pain to stop.

And then it was gone. Adam opened his eyes, gasping, drenched in sweat. They had made it. They had reached the Afterlife.

Adam bent over, his hands on his knees, coughing.

"Whoa.."  Hyde said, his jaw dropping.

"Yes, yes. It's very nice," Adam spoke suddenly, straightening up, "Well, my job's done. I'm sure the other ghosts would be more than happy to give you the grand tour."

And with that, he closed his eyes and was sucked into the emptiness.

Adam appeared outside of the house. He flung open the door and stormed inside.

"Father!" He called, his voice a mixture of anger and fear, "Father! I need to talk to you immediately!"

There was the sound of loud footsteps as Father Time hurried down the stairs.

"What's wrong? What has happened?" He asked urgently.

Adam paced back and forth as he responded, "Something's wrong with me," he continued in a rush, "Look, I know you said that using the orb would get easier over time, I know you said that my powers would adapt and the pain would eventually fade. But as watching gets easier, it gets harder and harder to do my own job. I'm getting headaches, at first they were small. But now, now I can't bear it! Every single time I bring a ghost to the Afterlife, I feel like I'm about to die with them!"

Adam turned towards his father and marched over to him. He grabbed Father Time's shoulders and shook them desperately as he continued, "You said that if my abilities adapted too much, something would happen. Well, something is happening!" He turned away from Father Time and put his face in his hands, breathing deeply. "I need you," he said shakily, "to tell me what's going on."

Tears streamed down Adam's face as he looked at his father pleadingly. Father Time reached out and took his son's face in his hands. But as he opened his mouth to respond, a high pitched tone began to sound from the second floor.

Adam pulled away from Father Time and hurried up the stairs.

"Wait!" Father Time called after him, "Adam, wait!"

But Adam ignored his father's shouts and ran over to the orb. "I have to do this for Sabrina," Adam called over his shoulder as he sat down, "Even if something's happening to me, this is more important."

Father Time reached the top of the stairs. His eyes widened in fright when he saw what Adam was about to do. "No!" He screamed, lunging forward. But Adam had already touched the orb. "No, no, please," Father Time whispered as he knelt beside his son. But Adam had already begun to write...

Seeing through the orb has become much easier now. I never black out and the fog only clouds the edges of my vision.

I made my way to the Bellator house with ease. I took in the scene before me and began laughing uncontrollably. Poor Chris.

He had taken up Daycare.

"Michael! Put down those scissors!" Chris commanded as he ran over. After taking
the scissors from his son, he yelled at a little blonde girl across the room,
"Athena! That block goes on the table, not up your nose!"

The two toddlers pouted for a bit, then went over to the dollhouse.

As they giggled and laughed together, Jamie walked into the room carrying another toddler. "This one snuck off into the kitchen," she said to Christopher as she set the girl down.

"Thanks," Chris said breathlessly. He put his hands on his head as he looked around the room. "Could you help?" he pleaded to his wife.

"I can't, I'm taking care of Audrey," Jamie responded. She hesitated, then added, "You know, watching three toddlers and a baby may not have been such a good idea."

"Yeah," Chris replied, "This is harder than I thought it would be."

"On the bright side, it's very entertaining," I cut in, chuckling.

Chris rolled his eyes, then went back to work.

A few days later, it was Audrey's birthday.

Chris's hair, eyes and skin tone. But it looks like she has more of Jamie's features.

With two toddlers in the house, there was a lot of potty training...

Walking...

And talking going on.

Chris quit his job in order to spend more time with the kiddos. I don't blame him honestly.

"The children are getting along quite nicely, don't you think?" Jamie asked me as she stood in the doorway of the nursery.

"Yeah, kinda reminds me of how my sisters and I used to get along," I responded, my mind's eye filling with old memories that I had buried long ago.

"That's right," Jamie gasped, putting her hand to her mouth, "Christopher told me; Belladonna's your sister." Jamie bit her lip, hesitating, then asked, "What was she like? I mean, she couldn't have been evil as a child. I can't even imagine..." she stopped and shook her head.

"Yeah," I responded after a while, "She used to be great. She looked after me and the Watcher. She protected us, defended us when no one else would. If someone would've told me then that she would do all this..."

Suddenly, the sharp pain I had felt earlier shot through me once again. I cried out, my vision beginning to blur.

Jamie looked up, her face a mixture of worry and fear. "What's wrong? Is something happening?" she asked anxiously.

"It's nothing to worry about," I forced myself to say through gritted teeth, "Everything's fine, really. But I do have to go now."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Adam pulled himself back from the orb and immediately started coughing. He put his face in his arm as Father Time thumped him on the back. Once the coughing fit ended, Adam stood shakily. He heard his father gasp and, following his gaze, Adam looked down at his sleeve. It was stained scarlet.

"What's happening to me?" Adam asked fearfully, looking up at his father.

Father Time swallowed, then to a deep breath before saying, "Your body is at war with itself. That's why you're coughing up blood." Father gestured at Adam's arm.

"Your powers may be great, but they have their limits. Your abilities only have the capacity to perform a single task. You are currently trying to do two; watching and reaping. The two tasks are at war with one another, both trying to control your powers. Since watching has gotten easier for you, I'd have to say that your reaping side isn't doing very well."

Adam opened his mouth, closed it, then opened it again. Finally finding his voice he asked, "So, what exactly is going to happen to me?"

Father Time bit his lip, trying to think of how to respond. After a minute of silence, he answered, "Slowly, over time, your ability to reap will fade. This is what's causing the headaches. Eventually, you will become a watcher, and there can only be one watcher at a time, so your sister-" he stopped, unable to finish the sentence, tears brimming in his eyes. He took a shaky breath before continuing, "If you become the new watcher, there will be no Grim Reaper. And death will vanish from the universe completely."

Adam's eyes widened, his mind spinning. He tried to respond, but his mouth had become completely dry. Adam licked his lips; his tongue felt like sandpaper.

"Maybe that wouldn't be too bad," Adam finally said, trying to be optimistic, "I mean, no one would have to suffer through losing a loved one."

Father Time looked into his son's eyes, his face suddenly gaunt, "You don't understand," Father said darkly, "Your powers control the death of everything, not just sims. Your abilities are what causes a thunderstorm to fade away. They make a tornado become a gentle breeze. They force a roaring fire to die down until it is nothing but smoldering ash."

Father Time took a shaky breath, "If your powers cease to exist, nothing will die. Nothing will end. Thunderstorms will rage on until all the realms are flooded. Tornadoes will only become more powerful, ripping apart everything in their paths. Lightning will strike over, and over again. Giant waves will break away the edges of the land until there is nothing left. Fires will spread until each world is hotter than the sun. But the sims will not die. They will overpopulate, which will lead to famine, poverty, and misery. But they will not die. Yet their lives will be empty. They will have nothing but pain, a fate worse than death."

Father Time turned away from Adam, unable to look into his eyes any longer. His voice was barely a whisper as he concluded, "If you lose your powers, complete chaos will break out. And the entire Sim Universe will be faced with a never-ending Armageddon."

Author's Note:

First of all, thank you all so much for your patience with the updates. I'm really glad you're enjoying the story! Second of all, I want to give you some information about the next update. Basically, this next update will not be part of the main storyline. It will be an interlude.

As some of you may have noticed, this dynasty involves a complicated universe full of different worlds (the Fairy Realm and Wolf Land for example). Originally I had planned to slowly reveal things about the worlds throughout the plot, but it would be hard to keep up on everything. This interlude will start off by explaining the general idea of how the universe works.

However, that's just the first part, the rest of the interlude will fill you in on what the main villains of the story are doing while the Watcher is dealing with the Eternal Sleep. If you don't remember them, refer to the introduction. This way, you'll know that Eric and Belladonna aren't just sitting around while the dynasty is beginning. I'm planning on having at least 1 interlude per heir. Let me know what you guys think of them!

And just to make sure you completely understand my writing style, I'm going to close with an explanation of how the storyline works. I'm planning on having this Dynasty work kind of like a TV show. Each heir will be like a season and each will have their own problem to deal with (the second generations problem was hinted at in entry six!). This 'season' obviously is about the Watcher's curse. I'm also planning on having a cliff-hanger finale during the chapter when the heir moves. The interludes will have their own plot line that will eventually connect to the main one.

I hope this gives you a better idea about where the story is going, I'm trying to make this as not-confusing as possible. Thank you!

Wow, where do you get all the ideas from? I am so jealous! Poor Adam, but I hope he'll stay strong for the Watcher.
The toddlers are adorable, poor Chris and Jamie, they sure have a handful of toddlers. But I'm sure they're enjoying it.
I will patiently wait for the next part, it's so worth it!

I've been expiriencing a lot of technical difficulties for a while, I can't get sims3 to stay open without crashing after twenty minutes. I eventually stopped playing all together. However I will hopefully be getting a new computer in the near future and will start back up with the dynasty if you guys are still interested. If you still want updates, please let me know. If not then I will scrap this and start a sims4 dynasty once a challenge is created.

Hi.

I'm so intrigued by this world you've created. Jaime and Chris are perfect together. I really would love for you to continue if you're able to get your problems sorted.

Interlude: A Bit of Background

Authors note: I was able to get my laptop fixed so TS3 doesn't crash all the time, but now the disk drive needs replaced.  Because of this I am unable to even attempt to play TS3 and do not have any pictures for this update.  I did play ahead in the dynasty so the next update will have some pictures, there just won't be any for the parts with the Watcher and Adam.  I will possibly get a new laptop next saturday, so hopefully this problem will not last long.  In the meantime I will try to load the disk everyday and will try to get the screenshots for this update.  Sorry for the inconvenience :)

Within the Sim Universe, there are ten different realms; the Fairy Realm, the Afterlife, the Wolf Land, the Endless Forest, the Land of Space, the Great Ocean, the Realm of Dreams, the Sim World, the Enchanted Light, and the Dark World.

The Enchanted Light is the strongest of the first nine realms, and watches over them protectively.  But then there's the Dark World; the last to be created.  It was the result of a terrible, terrible act committed by a young soul who was blinded by jealousy.

This act brought into the universe a new species, one filled with evil, malice, and a strong desire to kill; vampires.  Because vampires were created out of hatred, they have no place in the Afterlife.  Instead, they go to the Dark World when they die.

The Dark World isn't exactly what you'd call 'pleasant'.  It is cursed with everlasting night, yet there are no stars; just a dark, empty void.  The grass is not green.  In fact, there is no grass at all.  The ground is nothing but hard, dry dirt.  There are trees, but the trees are dead and barren.  In the center of it all is the main house.  The floorboards are rotten, the shingles are cracked, and the wallpaper is torn.  The entire house seems abandoned and dead.  Nothing in this realm is alive.  Death and misery press in from all sides, suffocating all who live there.  If you listen closely, you can sometimes hear the lonely wails of the vampires condemned to this place for all eternity.

This terrible place is where we find the Watcher's sister, Belladonna.  She and her husband, Eric, rule the realm.  And this is where they plot their revenge...

(Past: When the Watcher drinks the potion of time)

Belladonna leaped through the portal and wheeled around to face her husband.
"We've done it!" she squealed in delight, "We actually succeeded!" She ran over to Eric and wrapped her arms around him in a tight embrace. "You and I are going to rule all the realms," she said, looking up at him.

Eric smiled, but his face became dark as he looked around. "Wait," he said, his expression a mixture of confusion and fury, "What's happening to the sims?"

When Belladonna and Eric first came through the portal, the Dark World was full of all the sims that were taken from Sunset Valley.  But one by one, they were vanishing into thin air.

"No!" Belladonna cried.  She lunged at the nearest Sim, but her fist closed around empty air as he disappeared.  In a matter of minutes, all the sims were gone.

There was a sudden loud rumbling, and the entire Dark World began to shake violently.  A vortex opened up in the sky and began to tear the land apart.  The dead trees were ripped from the ground with an earsplitting groan, and the portal shot up into the sky.

"Quick!" Belladonna cried as she grabbed Eric's arms, "The protection spell!"

"Tueri incantatores," they murmured, "Tueri incantatores. Tueri incantatores!"
They squeezed their eyes shut as they screamed the spell into the sky.  Then the rumbling stopped as suddenly as it had started.  The dead trees were back and the vortex was gone, it was as if nothing had happened.

Belladonna let go of her husband and turned away.

"What just happened?" Eric asked her in a panicked shout.

Belladonna didn't answer right away.  She stood there quietly, her jaw clenched, her hands balled into fists.  Her entire body was trembling with rage.

"Sabrina," she hissed through gritted teeth.  She turned back to her husband, fury emanating from her like waves of heat.  "She used the Potion of Time, the clock has been reset.  The only reason that you and I remember the other timeline is because the protection spell preserved our memories." She paused, then let out a high pitched cackle, "But Sabrina was never told!  She doesn't know that the potion will infect her with the Eternal Sleep!" She began to laugh uncontrollably.

Eric smirked at this news.  But then became suddenly concerned, " But what if the curse gets broken?"

Belladonna rolled her eyes, "There are only two ways to break the Eternal Sleep.  The first is True Love's Kiss. But I took care of Sabrina's true love a long time ago, so that won't be a problem.  The other way requires a dynasty founder, but I know just how to stop that." She winked at her husband, then started heading into the trees.

Belladonna walked for hours, facing straight ahead and never slowing her pace.  Then she suddenly halted, nothing around her but dead trees.  She looked around to make sure she was alone.  Satisfied, she extended her hand and murmured, "Revelabunt." A cloud of billowing, black smoke swallowed the space in front of Belladonna.  Once it had cleared, a small shack was revealed.

Belladonna smirked, then stepped into the shack.  It was small and cramped, with nothing but a spiral staircase leading downwards.  She descended the stairs and emerged into a slightly larger, dimly lit room.  But the room was completely empty.  At least, it appeared to be…

Belladonna stepped forward and examined the wall. “Nineteen down,” she murmured to herself, “twenty-three across.”  She counted the bricks, then, satisfied, she pushed one into the wall.  It was a button.  There was a low rumble, and the wall slide back to reveal a dark, damp room, lit by nothing but a single torch.  But this wasn’t just a mere room; it was a dungeon, with a single cell against the wall.
Belladonna moved forward and grabbed the bars of the cell.  “Come out, come out, wherever you are,” she sang sarcastically.

There was a rustling from the back corner of the cell, followed by the clanking of chains.  The prisoner stepped forward into the flickering light of the torch.  It was a ghost.  She was a coppery-brown color, which meant that she had died from some sort of curse.  There were chains around her arms and legs, keeping her tethered to the rock wall.

“What do you want, Bella?” the ghost said warily.

Belladonna smirked, satisfied at the ghost’s defeated tone. “I require information from you,” she said, pacing back and forth along the bars of the cell, “It’s about the Eternal Sleep.”

The ghost looked up quickly, “Why?” she questioned, suspicion in her voice, “Are you planning on using it on your sister?” suddenly her voice became dark with fury, “Because if you are, I assure you that no cage will save you from my wrath.  And if you even dare to consider the possibility of subjecting your own sister to that kind of torment, I will end you.”

Belladonna took a step back, and, for a split second, there was fear in her eyes… But then that second ended, and the fear was replaced with a burning hatred.

“You think you can threaten me?  ME?” she spat, “I was the one who imprisoned YOU! I was the one who was able to capture your soul!  Not even the Grim Reaper knows the truth! They all think that your soul was destroyed because of the Eternal Sleep!” she cackled, a crazed expression on her face, “I outwitted them! I outwitted ALL of you!” She smiled, pausing.  She tilted her head and slowly advanced towards the cell, whispering darkly, “You think you can threaten me with your wrath, Mother? Well, if you think that your wrath is terrifying, let me show you mine!”

And with that, Belladonna raised her hands to the sky.  Black smoke appeared, swirling in her palms.  She smiled, then, in one quick motion, she brought her fists down and pointed them at her mother.  The black smoke shot towards the ghost, engulfing her.  She screamed in pain and fell to her knees.

“Trust me, mother!” Belladonna yelled over the ghost’s screams and the roaring of the black smoke, “I am so much more powerful than you can even comprehend! And you will help me kill Sabrina!”

The ghost tried to fight off her daughter’s magic, but she was too weak.  “Never! I will NEVER help you!” she screamed at Belladonna.  The pain was unbearable; it was as if every bone in her body was breaking.  She let out one more bloodcurdling scream, then she fell to the ground, and everything went black.

“Fine,” Belladonna said to her mother’s unconscious body.  She began to walk away, then began muttering to herself, “I’ll try a new strategy, at least, for now anyway.  It will take time for the curse to affect Sabrina, so there’s no hurry,” she paused and tilted her head, smirking, “Ah, yes… there’s no reason why I can’t recreate that particular spell.  After all,” she laughed as she hurried up the stairs, “just because I can’t touch Sabrina, doesn’t mean that I can’t manipulate the dynasty itself!”
