Bellator DecaDynasty: Interlude - A Bit of Background

Introduction: The Fall of the First

As hard as the Watcher tried, she could not overcome the obstacles of nature. One too many snow days caused the heir, Lisa Bellator, to age without making the honor role. The heirs in this dynasty needed to excel in life so that their power would be strong enough to hold off the dark forces threatening the entire Sim World. This failure had grave consequences...

As Lisa Bellator blew out the candles on her birthday cake, a giant knot formed in the pit of her stomach.

She tried to shake off the guilt. After all, the Watcher could just find another dynasty, it was no big deal...right? But an uneasy feeling began to overwhelm the former heir. She ran into the back yard for some fresh air. And that was when she saw it. A portal from another dimension.

As Lisa's eyes widened in fear, she heard a panicked cry from above her, "No! No! This can't be happening!" Lisa had never heard the Watcher so frightened. And in a second, she understood why.

"Eric! We've done it!" Belladonna cried out in delight.

Eric smirked in response, "And we didn't even need to use the lamp. I knew they would fail in the end, I just knew it!"

Lisa stepped forward. "Excuse me?" She asked, trying to hide the fear in her voice, "Who are you?"

The Watcher's voice echoed from above, "No Lisa! Stay away from them!"

Belladonna looked up. A cold smile spread across her face. "Sabrina," she called," My dear little sister, it's been a long time."

"You are no sister of mine!" The Watcher replied in disgust.

Belladonna's smile was immediately replaced with a sneer of pure hatred. Eric put his hand on her shoulder. "If we're going to do this, we have to do it now," he murmured to her. She nodded, and he turned back to the portal. "Come, my friends. Let us take this world!" he called in a commanding voice.

Then they came, faster than lightning. A huge mass of red eyes and pointy teeth. Lisa screamed as two of them came at her. They grabbed her by the arms and dragged her into the portal. "No!” the Watcher cried, "Please!" But Eric only answered with a high, cold laugh.

A great thunderstorm let loose as, one by one, the people of Sunset Valley were dragged into the portal. The Watcher stared helplessly as Christopher went through, screaming, "It can't be! Not my dream! No! I thought I stopped it!"

After Christopher left, the Watcher felt her strength begin to drain. "Do you feel that, sister?" Belladonna called, "As your sims leave, your power leaves with them!" But the Watcher was determined. She turned away from the orb that allowed her to see Sunset Valley. There was a small chance, a last resort, a final hope. But could she get there in time?

The Watcher stumbled through the house, heading for her mother's old room. She flung open the door and fell to her knees in front of a very old chest. The Watcher's vision started to blur as she rummaged through the chest. She cried out in relief as her hand closed around a flask with a golden potion.

The Watcher fell to the floor, no longer able to sit up. She used every ounce of her remaining strength to open the flask and hold it to her lips. She swallowed the potion quickly just before her arm fell, smashing the flask against the floor. Darkness closed around her vision. She managed a small smile of satisfaction before she became unconscious.

The Watcher woke with a start, her head pounding. She stood quickly, a little too quickly. Spots appeared in front of her eyes as the room started to spin. She sat down on her mother's bed until the dizziness faded. "Please let them be okay," she whispered frantically as she rushed back to the orb. What she saw made her sigh with relief.

It was Sunset Valley, whole and unharmed. The Potion of Time had worked. It had reset the clock to before Christopher had been chosen. The Watcher felt a surge of determination. This time will be different. This time the dynasty will succeed and the Dark World will be defeated. But the Watcher had to be more careful this time. She would have to guide with a more forceful hand. And she would have to record everything in a journal to make sure nothing would go wrong. The Watcher still wanted Christopher to be the founder, after all, the problem had been with her, not him. The Watcher closed her eyes and focused on what had just happened, how Eric and Belladonna had almost won. Her memories traveled through the orb and into Christopher's dream.

It was done. The Watcher sat back, feeling a small sense of doubt. She had used the last of the Potion of Time; there would be no going back. If they failed this time, the Dark World would take over Sunset Valley along with all the other Sim Worlds. But she shook of the uneasiness. This time would be different. The dynasty would succeed. The Bellators in Mortis would prevail. The Watcher turned back to the orb. It was time for a fresh start.

Entry One: A Fresh Start

The Watcher walked over to the orb, a journal clenched in her hands. Her head was still pounding because of the 'incident', but she needed to get to work. After all, the entire Sim World was counting on her. But the Watcher's feet refused to move, as if they were glued to the floor.

"Hey," a man's voice called from behind her.

She turned. "Hey," she replied, a smile spreading across her face.

"Look sis," the man continued, "I know this is hard for you. I know it hurts, but you have to guide them."

The Watcher sighed, "I know, you're right."

"I usually am," her brother responded. He then reached out and ruffled her hair as he continued, "Don't worry; I'll be right here the whole time."

The Watcher nodded. She then took a deep breath and sat down at the orb. She opened the journal on her lap while touching the orb's smooth surface with her other hand. She gasped; her eyes turned a milky white. And, in a trance-like state, she began to write...

At first I wasn't sure what to do. There he was, just standing there.

I could see confusion in his eyes, probably caused by the dream I sent him. But how to approach him, that was the question. Last time I had just startled him on the beach, but I don't want this to be like last time. It was at this moment that Chris decided to get in a taxi.

He was probably going to the beach again. I shook my head in frustration. I guess this was going to be like last time. I'll just go along with it. "Bellator in Mortis," I whispered, just like before. He shook it off, thinking it was the wind, just like before. I wanted to cry in despair; this was a disaster. Everything was the same. But then, Christopher Steel surprised me.

He hadn't gone down to the beach like I had assumed. Instead, he had went to Summer Hills Springs by the Altos and the Landgraabs.

This made me giddy with relief. I actually started giggling. I know, it's kinda embarrassing. Unfortunately, Chris heard me laughing.

"Whose there?" He called, turning away from the pond.

"Don't be afraid," I responded, "I am the Watcher, Christopher. And you have been chosen to be the first 'Bellator in Mortis'."

"What does that mean?" Chris asked.

I chuckled; he had asked me that last time too. "It means, 'Warrior in Death'. Chris, that dream you had wasn't a dream."

"What?" Chris questioned, unable to conceal the fear in his voice.

"It was my memories of the future. You see, this has happened before in another timeline. I recruited you, but my errors caused your family to fail. The consequences were terrible, but I was able to reset time. Christopher, we must not fail, or else everything you know will be destroyed."

Christopher's mouth was open in shock. He tried to speak, but only managed a quiet groan. He cleared his throat and tried again, "So...if I don't...if it doesn't...," he put his face in his hands as he finished, "Ugh.. Ok, I'll do it."
There was a look of determination on his face that I'd never seen before. I smiled; this time would be different, I was sure of it now.

"There's one more thing you have to do," I said as Chris climbed into a taxi.

"Oh yeah? What's that?" he asked as the car started moving.

"Oh, it's somewhat of a tradition. You just have to go down to City Hall, sign a couple of papers, and then you'll be ready to begin," I responded.

"Excuse me," Chris said to the driver, "Please take me to City Hall instead." The driver nodded.

As Christopher climbed the steps to the building, I felt excitement building up inside of me. We were going to succeed, I just knew it. Then, it was done.

Hello, Christopher Bellator. Welcome to the first day of the rest of your life.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Watcher sat back, gasping, drenched in sweat. Her skin was as white as snow, except a little more green. She tried to stand, but her legs buckled. Her brother caught her before she hit the floor.

"I don't understand," she gasped, "I've never had trouble with the orb before."

"It's probably a side-effect of the potion," her brother said soothingly, "You know what mother always used to say, 'Magic always comes with a price'."

"She also used to say," The Watcher whispered shakily, still leaning on her brother for support, "that the greater the magic, the greater the price."

"Well there you have it, the price of the potion is sickness," her brother responded confidently, "I'm sure it'll clear up soon."

The Watcher pursed her lips, "I don't think illness is the price of the magic I used. Mother always said to never use the Potion of Time unless it was a dire emergency. I think...Oh Adam! What if I'm dying?"

Adam's voice was suddenly serious, "Listen to me, you are not dying. Ok? Trust me, I'd know. Death is kinda my thing. I can always tell. After all," he chuckled, "I am the Grim Reaper, it's my job."

"Ok," The Watcher gave her brother a forced smile, "Ok, you're right, it's probably nothing." She hugged Adam. The Watcher stared into his eyes trying to find comfort.

They were the same bright blue as hers. All of their kind had the same eyes, they reflected the magic each being had within. The Watcher gasped, a sense of dread engulfed her, making it hard to breathe. She rushed into the bedroom, Adam close behind.

"No, no. This can't be," the Watcher gasped as she stared into the mirror. Adam was right, she wasn’t dying; this was much worse. It was her eyes. They were getting dimmer.

I dont want to give too much away, but something is happening to her powers. You'll just have to wait and see if she's losing them or if its something else  :)

Glad to know other who sees Watchers as not almighty being and how they’re related to their Sims. Interesting part in your story is that you’re adding something that lead to so many question and you add realism in your story. I taken love into this story and I just want to see the continuation. You also have a good writing style and I love it. I wish you luck to finish your Deca Dynasty :)

Bellator DecaDynasty: Two - Finding Mrs. Bellator

Entry Two: Finding Mrs. Bellator

"No! No way am I letting you use the orb after what just happened!" Adam yelled at his sister, a note of panic in his voice.

"Let me? You won't let me?" the Watcher screamed in retaliation. She laughed coldly as she continued, "Since when do I take orders from you? Since when do you call the shots around here? Who died and made you king?"

Adam opened his mouth to retaliate, but the Watcher held up her hand. She took a deep breath and said more calmly, "Look, I appreciate you looking out for me, but this is something I have to do. Don't you see? What we're doing is so much bigger than either one of us."

"I am not going to just sit around and watch this happen like we did with mother," Adam replied, forcing himself to speak calmly as well.

"I never expected you too," the Watcher put her hand on Adam's shoulder, "While I'm helping the dynasty, I need you to do something for me."

"What's that?" Adam asked, puzzled.

The Watcher took a deep breath. But before she could respond, a high-pitched tone began to emanate from the orb.

The Watcher gasped, "Something important is about to happen in the dynasty!" She rushed over to the orb, pulling out her journal as she sat down. Then, ignoring her brother's protests, she touched the orb and began to write...

"Hey Chris, what's going on?" I asked in a casual voice, trying to hide my excitement.

"Nothing much," Chris responded, "I'm just about to make a new outfit for myself."

"That's it?" I asked, confused, "You're not going out to meet a girl, or anything like that?"

Chris looked up, his voice suspicious, "No...Why?"

"Oh," I sat back, confused. Maybe the orb wanted me to help with his makeover? Well, here it is.

New hair

Everyday

Formal

Athletic

Sleepwear

Swimwear

And Outerwear

He basically has the same look as last time.

"Hey Watcher," Chris said, "I've been thinking about what you asked earlier."

"And?" I asked, suddenly hopeful. Maybe he would be meeting Mrs. Bellator after all.

"I was wondering, how did I meet my wife last time?" Chris replied.

"We went door-to-door and met your wife at her house," I explained.

"Who was she? Who was my wife?" Chris questioned further.

I hesitated, "I don't think I should tell you that. I don't want your past life to influence your choice in this one."

"Oh," Chris mumbled, disappointed. Then he perked up a little, "Well, then I guess it's off to the library!"

"Why the library?" I asked.

"Why go from house-to-house meeting potential wives when you can meet them through online dating?"

It was a pretty good idea. This way Chris could meet many bachelorettes at once. But while Christopher was heading through the door, someone caught his eye.

Talk about irony, I swear I didn't plan this.

"Whoa...Who is that?" Chris asked in awe.

"Why don't you introduce yourself and find out?" I urged him.

"H-h-hi," Chris stuttered, "I'm Chris,"

"Jamie," the woman responded, shaking his hand, "Jamie Jolina."

The two hit it off nicely and became good friends quite quickly.

Chris started to woo her with a bouquet of purple flowers.

But then he threw all caution to the wind and kissed the girl!

Thankfully she didn't mind.

Then they started dating...

Then they got engaged...

Then it got dark and Jamie had to leave.

"Wow Chris," I said as Christopher headed home, "I didn't know you had that in you."

"I-I-I don't know what came over me... I just had to be with her. I can't explain it."

I laughed, "Maybe I can. I guess the heart never does change."

Chris looked up, puzzled.

I smiled, "Chris, Jamie was your wife in the other timeline,"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Watcher sat back from the orb, gasping. "What happened?" she asked Adam, for the Watcher had not left Sunset Valley willingly.

“Don’t look at me," Adam said defensively, "I couldn't have done anything even if I wanted to."

"Hmm," the Watcher's brow furrowed in concentration, "It must have been the curse. There's no other explanation. It must be limiting my time with the orb."

"Ok, so basically, you're getting worse," Adam stated in a worried tone, "So, what is it you need me to do?"

The Watcher looked at her brother pleadingly, "I know I'm asking a lot, but...I need you to find father."

Adams eyes widened in shock, "And why do you want me to bring back the man who abandoned us?"

"He spent centuries researching this curse while mother had it. He knows more about it than both of us," the Watcher explained.

"I hope you realize how slim my chances are of finding him. He could be in any one of the realms. He could even be dead for all we know," Adam responded.

The Watcher laughed, "Oh, dear brother, don't be silly. It's impossible for Father Time to die."

Thanks for the congratulations! Father Time is actually a mythical being that represents and controls time. I figured he would be the perfect father for the Watcher and the Grim Reaper  :)

Chapter 3: Marriage and a Nooboo

The Watcher paced back and forth, wringing her hands anxiously. She bit her lip and stared at the orb, waiting. At that moment, the orb began to pulse a bright pink light. The Watcher flung herself into the chair and touched the orb.

"Hey," her brother said, his voice traveling through the pink light.

The Watcher looked into the orb and saw Adam standing in a forest. "Any luck?" she asked hopefully.

Adam shook his head, "Father's not in the Wolf Land, I'm sorry."

The Watcher sat back, disappointment and despair pulsing through her.

"But," Adam continued, "The Alpha told me he heard whispers of a man in the Fairy Realm. A man that made a forest fire stand still, then fixed the land as if the fire had never happened."

The Watcher's voice quivered with excitement, "That has to be him. It has to be!"

"Or it could be a dead end," Adam said dejectedly. He sighed, "I just don't want you to get your hopes up."

"I know it's him. I just know it!" The Watcher smiled, "Have a little faith, Adam. Just because you're the Grim Reaper doesn't mean you have to be so depressing all the time."

Adam chuckled, "Don't you have a dynasty to look after or something?"

"Oh wow, I can't believe I forgot! See you soon!" The Watcher waved to Adam before the light faded from the orb. The Watcher placed her hand back on the orb's surface. Sunset Valley filled her vision, and she began to write...

"Hey Chris!" I said cheerfully, "What's up?"

Chris looked up suspiciously, "Well, somebody's awfully chipper."

"I'm just really excited to see you get married," I said, which was technically true, "Go ahead, call her."

Thankfully Jamie wasn't busy and was able to come over.

They immediately exchanged vows.

The love on their faces brought tears to my eyes. The dynasty was off to a great start.

"Jamie, now that you're part of this family, you have a responsibility," I said to her.

"Chris, who was that?" Jamie asked, looking around.

Chris looked at her sheepishly, "Honey, there's something I need to tell you."

While Chris explained the situation, I worked on Jamie's makeover.

I'll put her outfits below.

"Wow! I love this hair!" Jamie exclaimed as she stared into the mirror.

"Yes, yes. It's very nice. But now's not the time. I've booked you both flights to China as a wedding present! You'll be leaving shortly." I told them.

Christopher's jaw dropped and Jamie turned to protest. But then the cab came and they left without complaint. I know, shocking.

Overall the trip was very productive.

Chris fished the whole time while Jamie ran around collecting metals.

I also had Jamie pick up a chest to store stuff in for the dynasty.

"I still don't understand why you want me to buy something so expensive," Jamie huffed.

"Once your child moves, they'll be able to come back and take items from the chest," I explained.

"That's an amazing idea," Jamie said, "Who told you to do that? Is there another Watcher or something?"

"Kind of," I responded, "I got the idea from a Watcher named Pam, but she looks after a different Sim Universe. Each Sim Universe has its own Watcher and it's own story. It's kind of hard to explain."

"I think I understand," Jamie replied.

"Hey," I called, realizing something, "How did you know that wasn't my original idea?"

Jamie smiled, "You're smart, Watcher. But let's face it, you're no genius."

Jamie and I are going to get along just great. Can't you tell?

Anyway, the couple didn't see much of each other during the trip, so they had their honeymoon when they got back.

The next morning...

"Ugh," Jamie groaned, "I knew I shouldn't have tried that experimental recipe Chris made last night."

I debated whether or not to tell her the truth, but decided against it. Let's call this payback for the whole 'you're no genius' incident.

But then the entire dynasty almost collapsed in one, terrifying moment. Jamie had decided to try some experimental treatment in order to make some quick cash for the family. She's taken it before, and nothing bad has ever happened...except for now.

After Jamie swallowed the pill, fire erupted from her body, causing her to scream in terror. Thankfully, Chris was close and put out the fire.

I sighed in relief, but fear still pulsed through my veins. That was way too close. One moment almost ruined the entire dynasty.

"Watcher!" Jamie called, "Watcher! Where's Chris? I'm pregnant!"

Jamie rushed over to her husband excitedly, "Chris! We're having a baby!"

"Seriously?" Chris's jaw dropped, "That's wonderful!"

A few days later...

"ARGH! The baby! IT'S COMING!" Jamie screamed.

"What should I do honey?! What should I do?!" Chris shouted back.

"Stop yelling! You're just making it worse!" Jamie said through clenched teeth.

"Chris," I said slowly, "I don't think she meant that you should sit down and read a book,"

"Hey, she wants me out of the way, so I'm staying out of the way," Chris replied.

Welcome to the world-

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Before the Watcher could finish the sentence, she was thrown back from the orb.

"Oh come on!" the Watcher said as she slammed her fist on the table, "I don't even know the baby's name..."

The Watcher leaned against the wall and took a deep breath. Tears streamed down her cheeks. It wasn't fair. How could she help the dynasty when her time with the orb kept getting shorter? At that moment, a sharp pain shot through the Watcher's skull. She fell to her knees, screaming. Her head felt like it was about to split open.

"Please," she whispered with great effort, forcing each word, "Please, make it stop!"

Then her eyes rolled back, and she became still.
