Losing LTR when traveling to futures and back

My Sim has maxed and supermaxed so many things and as a result had a ton of LTR purchased.  I noticed after traveling to the future and back they were gone!  How does this happen and will they come back or do I have to acquire more points, (or cheat), and rebuy them?
