Saved File gone from launcher and EA saves File

Hi Everyone,
First of all, sorry if this has already been answered and also apologies for the long winded explanation/question!
 I updated my driver yesterday to the latest patch and then went to play my game.  When going into the game all the dimensions had defaulted to basic. All my files were there, so I was not concerned.  I then started a new file, and it began in tutorial mode.  I quickly went into edit town to exit this.  I played for 4 hours last night and saved successfully.  I then played for 2 hours this morning and as I was saving, the file hung and I had to do a forced exist.  This didn't bother me too much because I am quite good at saving and it happens every now and again.  After I did the force exit, I went to go back into the game and the file was gone.  So I quit and went into the EA folder ..../saves and the game folder I was just playing wasn't there.. So I thought I would check to see if the Sim I made in CAS was in the saved sim file (as I saved her after spending time creating her) and she wasn't there either. I have a very bad feeling that it's gone.. I have shut down my computer, re-started etc.. and I did that when I first updated the driver too.

I know that this is a ton of information, but hopefully I can find the game file... I was REALLY enjoying it and was making up rules for a new challenge that I was going to ask permission to post..

Hi KTK10,

I'm not exactly sure this will help, but maybe do a search on your computer for the filename of your saved game, to see if it got saved in a different spot?

Hi KTK10,

Hubby reminded me to ask if you had any .bad or .backup folders in your Saves folder. Or if there's any files at all in your Saves folder. What it sounds like is that you had to force quit while it was still trying to save the game. Which may have led to the computer deleting the file or corrupting the file.

I did have one .backup file, which I already knew about and all my other files were there.  But what your husband said makes sense to me!  I am guessing that is exactly what happened.  I am now considering it gone forever...    Thank you for your help MrsFlynn!
