Once Lucifer's in, there will always be a minimum of four playable Sims around: Gabriel, Gabriel's child, Gabriel's grandchild... and Lucifer.

I'm still thinking on that. The challenge isn't really meant as a punishment for Gabriel, so maybe Mother will let him keep one. At this time, I think she'll make him choose between a butler, a Bonehilda and a simbot.

I think choosing one of the three sounds like a good idea, after all they can pretty much do the same things except a bot is controllable and has a few extra things they can do thanks to those trait chips.
From the moment I fell down that rabbit hole I've been told what I must do and who I must be. I've been shrunk, stretched, scratched and stuffed into a teapot. I've been accused of being Alice, and of not being Alice, but this is my dream. I'll decide where it goes from here.

Downloading Roaring Heights... aside from Monte Vista the only world I really wanted the moment I saw it.

I think Gabriel will choose the bot in that case. Easier to update <.<.

When I wake up, I actually think of calling Hyun. He claims to be quite handy, so he may be willing to help me out, but then again, I will need those skills in the end any way. I may as well pick them up now. With a sigh I set to unclogging the toilet. I will need to clean it today as well I suppose.

But first I need to make at least one more sculpture, so I will have something new to sell next time. My first wooden sculpture this time, because I simply didn't feel like sculpting clay this time around.

After I finish an end table in wood, I clean the toilet... and cook another autumn salad. I think I'll be able to make something a bit more difficult tomorrow.

On Friday, I clean the part of the house that I wasn't forced to do yesterday. With everything in working (and shining) condition, I ready myself for a day of sculpting. Most of my ice sculptures break down before I manage to finish them, but the day is not a complete loss. At least I get one to sell... though it's a bit ironical, after the breakdown of yesterday... and I'm sure my output will increase as I get better at this.

Saturday, I feel more like painting than sculpting, maybe because so many of my ice statues turn to water before I finish them. And believe it or not, but my toilet breaks down again already. This way, I will be maxing out my handiness before the ones I planned to!

I also re-paper my workroom, so the walls are no longer so darkly depressing. And I don't burn down the house while baking pancakes. I'm starting to miss my own kind though... "Why don't you say something, then, silly boy?" Mother's amusement comes as a surprise to me. I had nearly forgotten this was not supposed to be a silent challenge. "Make sure to visit the graveyard tomorrow... and we'll be sure to remedy that."

I laugh. Of course. Where else would our kind meet?

(Gabriel gets the Fast Learner LTReward on Friday. By the end of Saturday, he has reached the following levels: Painting 2, Sculpting 6, Charisma 3, Cooking 2, Handiness 2 and Social Networking 1. Sculptor: 4. He also has 2 friends: Emit and Hyun-Moon.)

(Because he's getting too many skill wishes, I've cancelled the Bot Building one, because I don't really want him to go to the future yet. I think he'd be much too surprised to see descendents of his own line there now. From here on I will try to stick with one post per week, unless something interesting comes up, like an alien abduction/pregnancy, but if I remember correctly, those became a lot less frequent after University. Too bad, as an alien child would fulfill his offspring part.)

(judging from the noise my computer's making... I think I'll save the entire folder to the server before I shut down today.)

Gabriel is definitely doing well learning those skills. Also, you can increase the chance of an alien abduction by learning logic and collecting space rocks. An alien baby would certainly be interesting to see :)

I hope your computer sorts itself out with the noises, it would be a shame to lose the progress you've made so far.

Yes, I think he's going to have to pick up logic soon as well, for the possibility of alien abductions. Because... I actually would prefer his child to be an alien.

I think it would be pretty cool for Gabriel to have an alien baby. Fingers crossed you get an abduction!

Re: To Raise The Devil. (Gabriel's Return)(8) Visiting an old friend
« Reply #37 on: December 15, 2013, 05:32:57 AM »

The moment I notice the building in the graveyard, I start to smile. I now understand Mother's allusions. It seems one of my oldest friends has decided to relocate to Midnight Hollow as well. I don't know whether he did that for me... or for the constant darkness. After all, Grim truly loves black, unlike the winged ones amongst us. He is not really an angel like I am, but he is so much more than a sim.

When he notices my mortal body's fatigue, he offers me the use of his bed. Of course, I cannot refuse...

But I should have known. If you sleep at Grim's... chances are high you may wake up because of someone's passing. I also realize he seems more social than he used to be, as the local celebrities are holding a meeting right inside Grim's home.

It's nice enough to meet Hyun again, though I would have preferred it to be in different circumstances. For one thing, I'd rather not have my new friend know of my alliance with Death. Our friendship caused Fluff's death and I don't want that to happen to another friend of mine. Not even if Grim lets them go after. For another, I find out they're only here because they have dared each other to set foot inside the scary house. I refrain from telling him I actually slept here only a moment ago. Thankfully the master of the house has enough on his plate, taking the newly deceased through the motions.

I will have to make sure Hyun doesn't repeat this kind of stupidity... but we're not close enough for him to listen to my warnings yet. I doubt he thinks I can be serious about anything like this. He obviously doesn't believe in an afterlife, which is odd, regarding the amount of ghosts around. I suppose he's too young, brash and sure of his own immortality to worry about Grim.

(Gabriel gets the Observant reward after his visit to Grim's home. Of course, in the game, they're not really friends yet. I saved before they met... just in case.)
(Yes, all those visitors to Grim's are celebrities <.<. And they're really drawn to the place like moths to a flame!)

I wonder what it is about Grim's house that makes Sims think, "Hmm, I need to get me some of that!" I suppose we'll find out once the population of Midnight Hollow significantly dwindles.  :P

Actually, I can understand the celebrities: Grim has a problem with paparazzi (and zombies)!

Once I get home from Grim's, I finish and sell another ice sculpture... and I decide to upgrade my kitchen with some more modern equipment... and a brightening of the rest of the room later, I'm starting to feel more at ease in my own home.

My next visit to Grim's, I find out his sink isn't any better than my own. Of course, I can do nothing less than help him out. I know my old friend isn't exactly interested in plumbing... and the uninvited guests are getting on his nerves already. To show me his gratitude, Grim took care of the paparazzi which has been following me around of late. I realize he doesn't see the wrongness of his actions... and so, I'm sure to thank him. Contrary to common believes, Grim isn't evil. He just does his job with a bit too much enthusiasm, as any workaholic.

I got a bit distracted while cooking today, so I managed to set fire to my stove. It didn't take me more than a few seconds to put it out though. There was no lasting damage. Even so, the fireman came inside to scold me for not being careful. I just shrugged it off, replaced my cheap stove with one that will teach me the skill faster and kept working.

The police station has contacted me. They want me to sculpt one of their suspects! I suppose the sims of Midnight Hollow are starting to get to know my work! I can't help feel a bit proud over this contract. Lemon never asked me to make one of those on Redemption, but then again, he would have been more than capable of doing it himself. I suppose that's the nice part about having a police officer who's also a very good sculptor in his own right! I am starting to get close to maxing out my sculpting skill, but I will never turn down a request from the police! Anything to help! Of course, it's raining all during my trip there... and I'm starting to feel ill when I get home...

"There's no need for this kind of discomfort for you," Mother mumbles in my ear, right before I feel the warmth of Her touch inside of me. The sickness dissipates immediately. "No more Sim illnesses for my angel. I want you to be able to concentrate on your duties without suffering from silly infections." "Thank you, Mother," I whisper in awe. It's nice to have Her on my side this time...

With the amount of toilet breakage in my home, I decide to make the thing self-cleaning. That way at least I won't have to clean it every time after I unclog it.

Hyun invites me to a costume party... and of course, I accept. I'm not in the slightest surprised to find out he's one of the richer members of the society. Somehow I had guessed that part from the way he keeps himself. You have to admit, I don't look that bad as a clown. I meet a few new people at his house, but since this is the time I usually sleep, I have to leave early. After all, I can hardly fall asleep during his party!

I still haven't breached the subject of Grim's home with Hyun, but I'm not sure how to do so. I know his breaking and entering is upsetting Grim... and I want him to stop. It's just not right for anyone to walk into someone's home without being invited, especially not because of a bet among friends. I fear one day it will cost my young friend more than he wants to accept. Of course, since we're both supposed to be young adults, he believes we are of an age, which will make his acceptance even more difficult. I am still the newcomer to Midnight Hollow, so Hyun probably believes he knows more about this town than I do. And he does. Just... not what concerns The Reaper. I try to talk to him on the phone a few times the rest of the week, but I just never find the right moment to talk about what's really bothering me. I don't think he has been there again after that first time, but I'm not really sure.

I do know Grim is really getting frustrated with the sheer amount of trespassers inside his home. He doesn't mind them visiting the graveyard that is his yard, but they should stay outside...

It's starting to snow! Maybe a white blanket will lighten up this town... A new  papparazzi has appeared at my door. I hope he's dressed for the weather. While I was sleeping, an alien walked around my garden as well, most likely wondering about the white hydrangeas, the only ones in town.

(Levels at the end of week 2: Sculpting 9, Charisma 4, Cooking 4, Handiness 5, Painting 2, Social Networking 1. Sculptor: 6. Celebrity Stars: 2)
(Friends: Emit and Grim. Good Friend: Hyun-Moon Yun)
(Added Entrepreneurial Mindset to his rewards on Tuesday, Simmunity on Thursday, Steel Bladder on Saturday)
(And it seems that thing doesn't work as a fridge... so Gabriel's sold it again and replaced it with a future fridge. I think I know how Gabriel will manage to get a baby without romance...)

My agent wants me to work out for 4 hours... so I go over to Grim's again, to ask him whether he'd let me use his treadmill. If he refuses, it'll be the gym, of course, but I would very much prefer to do this a bit more privately for now. Even his house looks more festive with the snow and Christmas lights. Yes, Grim celebrates the holiday, of course. He adores snow as much as any of us.

I think this may be a surprise to Hyun-Moon, but... we both made sure no one else is nearby. It wouldn't do for any strangers to see 'The Grim Reaper' build a snowman, now would it? It would very much damage his reputation... which I don't want to risk. After all, he moved to Midnight Hollow for my sake. The least I can do, is to make sure no one has a reason to doubt his deadly seriousness.

He has worse news for me though: Hyun and his celebrity pals still use his home for their pleasures. I could ask Hyun to move in with me... or Grim to become my room mate, but both options will get in the way of my challenge. I promise Grim a place in the eventual mansion without hesitation though. He knows Lucifer and he is aware of what I need to do here. Unlike Hyun, who I cannot bring into this.

I can't convince Hyun to stay away from Grim's home, because he truly doesn't believe in his own mortality. He just laughs at my concern. However, Grim promises me that he will try to keep his temper in check around my young friend. He understands I love Sims more than most of our kind does and is willing to help me. Of course, we both know this doesn't mean Hyun has a get-out-of-death-free card. He will most likely die before I end my assignment down here in any case. If not because he ticks off Grim, than because his time is simply up. I already don't like the idea of seeing him age...

I'm going to have to slow down though: I just can't play enough hours for an update a day. So there will be days without updates even if nothing's wrong over here <.<.

There's only so many hours in the day, and unfortunately Sims can't take up all of them. :P

Grim's manor really does look nice in the snow though, and it's pretty cool to see him building a snowman with Gabriel.

Sadly enough, you're right. There aren't enough hours for Sims <.<.

But there will be an update tomorrow :). And Grim and Gabriel have re-established their long-standing friendship. They're now really best friends.
