Trip 01 - Bonjour!

Hello! My name is Brienne Farther. I come from a long line of famous explorer sims from the past. The past couple of generations, my family has somehow forgotten the wanderlust that captivated my ancestors. I am the first of my family for several generations to finally recapture that adventurous trait. I have the Lifetime Wish to be a Seasoned Traveler and get a level three visa in every exotic location! I've picked up some other traits that will surely help me along my adventure: athletic, brave, lucky, and schmoozer. I used my savings to buy a little empty piece of property in Monte Vista (to build my relic museum on later!).

I didn't want to waste any time, so I called up my travel agent. Unsure of which location to start in, the nice lady suggested I try Champs le Sims in France. She said the locals were friendly, the foods were delicious, and there was plenty of adventure to be found. I thought that France was as good a location as any to start in, so I gave her my account number and booked the trip!

The taxi arrived shortly to take me to the airport. My mind was buzzing with all sorts of ideas. What should I do first once I reached France? Should I sample some nectar or explore an ancient tomb? Would I meet anyone nice? Would the plane crash and send me into a fiery death before I could even begin my adventures? Taking a calming breath, I tried to relax and just enjoy the prospect of a brand new world.

I made it to France safe and sound. The smells of fresh bread and grapes filled the air as the chatter of an unfamiliar language berated my ears. One of the tourists at base camp suggested that I visit the French market since it was my first day. The walk to the new location was short, and I was ecstatic to see all the locals and tourists mingling together. I knew that if I were going to go on any adventures, I would need some supplies. After a quick trip to the general store, I was stocked up on all the essentials: a cheap but workable tent, several showers in a can, and plenty of dried food. The shopkeeper, Jeannine Lambert, asked where I was headed. When I told her that I had no idea, she asked if I would be interested in retrieving an artifact for her deep in a tomb under the Celtic graveyard. It all sounded terribly exciting, so I quickly agreed!

Checking my map showed me exactly how to get to the old Celtic site. I had to poke around a little, but rather quickly found the entrance to the tomb hidden in a cluster of large stones. I couldn't really see down into it, so the only course of action was to descend the steps into the unknown underground world. Here goes nothing!

While the tomb wasn't nearly as scary as I'd imagine, once my eyes adjusted I had to face the realization that it would be hard work to find the relic for Jeannine! Many parts of the tomb were covered in rubble that had to be cleared, and there were lots of places that were impassible unless you worked out the puzzle and moved HUGE statues! Whew! Maybe I should have gained a couple of athletic skill points before jetting off. This was exhausting, but I knew I couldn't give up!

The deeper I delved into the tomb, the closer I knew I was getting to that relic. I'd found several nice souvenirs to take back to Monte Vista and begin my relic museum, but I knew that even greater prizes would be found when I completely explored this tomb. Although I was getting tired, I kept pushing my body and mind.

JACKPOT! I knew my perseverance would pay off! I opened my first treasure chest in triumph, locating Jeannine's relic and a nice sizable gem for myself. Stowing the precious items in my pack, I knew that now I only had to find my way out. I'd been told that every tomb had an entrance and an exit, so I steeled myself to continue on and finish what I started... After a little nap in my tent.

There were a few nasty surprises for me when I awoke. To get to the next room, I had to stick my hand in a dark hole and find the door switch. I was slightly fearful of bugs, but steeled myself for the inevitable. Luckily, there were no hiding creepy crawlies. I flipped the switch and passed into the next room. The air was getting fresher and the room was definitely lighter. The end was near!

In the final room, I saw my first sarcophagus. I hadn't expected to see one here in France, but that didn't keep me from peeking inside! Luckily, there was no mummy to surprise me, but I found a few nice coins to end my adventure into the depths of France. One last set of stairs, and I was back on the surface. I had just enough time to deliver the relic to Jeannine before my trip was set to end.

France was amazing. I only got to stay three days, but I had a wonderful time. I had an amazing adventure, met some wonderful locals, acquired some nice relics, and even got a moment to sample some cheese and nectar. I can't wait for my next trip!

Hey, it's great to see a story of someone gathering relics. My adventures always leave me with bugs so I've never completed that LTW. Looking forward to more.

Thanks, guys! I have a couple of chapters ready to go, but I don't know how exciting it will be. I've never completed a story, so I figured this would be something short I could do; if it evolves into something larger, then yeah!

I think I'm the only person in existence who has never really had bugs with World Adventures. :/ When it was on my laptop it would crash a lot because there was so much to load, but on my desktop it's just fine.

The mummy will come soon. ;) I should have an update today.

Trip 02 - Nín hǎo!

My time in France was wonderful, and definitely fueled my lust for adventure. But once I returned to Monte Vista, I had to face some harsh realities. I was broke. Yep. No money. I would have to get a job with VERY flexible vacation hours that also fit my talents. Heading on over to the gym to boost my athletic skill, I saw an ad for amateur athletes. Flexible hours. Decent pay. It sounded pretty perfect, so I quickly pulled out my phone and called the number. In just a few short minutes I was employed in the Sports career!

In between working my new job and attempting to raise my athletic skill, I decided that I should pick up a few more skills to help make my life a little smoother. Eager to learn the recipes for the many new dishes I was trying, I read a nice book about cooking at the library. I had planned to learn a bit of handiness, too, but the wanderlust gripped me again. It was time to head off to a new destination! This time: China!

Upon arrival at Shang Simla, China, I decided to check the adventures board to see what kind of mischief I could get into. There wasn't a lot that caught my interest; someone looking for a lost cat, someone looking for a Simlish tutor. All very boring. I decided instead to grab a map and head to the Forbidden City and the Chinese market, since I'd had such luck in the market of France.

This market was so different from the one in France! In Champs le Sims, there was such hustle and bustle as everyone rushed around about their daily business. Shang Simla was much more subdued and... peaceful. I soaked up the quiet and found my way to a cafe for lunch. Eating with chopsticks was strange and difficult at first, but after watching a few other patrons, I got the hang of it.

After wandering around a bit and enjoying the scenery, I met a woman named Adaeze Min. She seemed a little down, so I asked her what was wrong. After a bit of coaxing, she revealed that she had been the mistress of a dojo that taught martial arts. Her dojo had kept with the old ways of peace, non-violence, and self-defense. However, the martial arts being taught today had become about sparring and beating other sims up. I told Adaeze that I would love to learn her form of passive martial arts, which made her face brighten. Giving me the address to a local dojo that still held onto the old ways, she sent me off with the promise that I would only use my skills for good.

The dojo was high in the mountains of Shang Simla. I decided to rent a bike and see as much of the local scenery as possible. Everything was so serene, majestic, and beautiful. The grand scale of the walls and homes were awe-inspiring. I felt a deep sense of peace and calm steal over me. I had come searching for adventure but found serenity instead. That was the perfect mindset to begin my martial arts training!

When I had the dojo in my sights, I spotted a limping bird on the side of the road. It was not a local breed, but rather an African Grey. I knew it had to be someone's pet. I made my way over slowly and coaxed the poor thing onto my arm. It accepted my help eagerly, so I gently stowed it in my pack. Surely someone at the dojo would know who the poor creature belonged to.

My first experiences at the dojo were not exactly the most grateful. The masters told me that I need to practice with a dummy before I could practice against a real sim. I fear I looked a bit silly trying to beat up a rotating stick with arms. It got the better of me a few times, but I refused to give up. Martial arts were an important part of my experience in China, and I would love to be able to show off some colored belts to my coworkers. If only I could avoid the humiliating bruises from this wooden opponent.

Finally! I had earned my first belt! True, it was only a white belt, showing that I was still a novice. However, it gave me the inspiration to keep going with the wooden dummy and earn another belt. I felt so accomplished that I wanted to keep feeling that way!

By the end of the day, I had earned my second belt: a yellow belt. This uniform looked much more impressive, even if only to my inexperienced eyes. After showing off some slick moves, I approached a dojo master to find out what the next step was. He told me I could now practice with my fellow martial artists. Giving me the address of my opponent, he sent me back to base camp to get a good night's sleep. I would need it to fight an actual sim instead of the wooden dummy!

When I arrived at the address, I was a bit surprised to see that my sparring partner was rather... well... portly. I assumed that one needed to be physically fit to be a proficient martial artist. Seeing as this woman was a higher belt than I, there must be something I didn't know. So I respectfully bowed and we began our match. I hate to admit that she got the better of me a couple of times, but after studying her moves I was able to best her. We parted as friendly acquaintances.

The dojo masters were quite pleased with my progress and awarded me with a new belt. I felt so powerful with my new skill, yet somehow so at peace. I yearned to be able to meditate like the other martial artists, but to learn that trick I would need another belt. I did not have much time left in China, but if I worked with all my might, I could just barely make it.

Success! With just a few hours left in my trip to Shang Simla, I earned a green belt and the ability to meditate. I worked so hard on this trip to China, and it had all been worth it. I hope to impart my newfound knowledge to the sims back home in Monte Vista. For now, I needed to earn some more money and rest up for my next trip abroad.

You're so lucky! It seems bugs bunny only appears to some people and other doesn't. I just wonder why that is. I love how you make her life story sound realistic! Traveling cost a lot of money! I do wish that she would gather enough money! I can't wait to see her next adventure!

She does pick up a fair amount of gems and relics, but I have a hard time selling them unless they're uncut stones or common relics. >.< I'm a hoarder, so Brienne is too!

Trip 03 - Marhaba!

My time home in Monte Vista was largely uninspiring. I was too exhausted from my travels to do much besides go to work and sleep. I did decide to get a tattoo to commemorate my time in beautiful China, though it set me back a little on my savings. I hired a builder to begin work on my relic museum, though they didn't get very far with my limited funds. It's always an ongoing project. I vowed to myself that I would spend more time in Monte Vista once I returned from my next voyage... to Egypt!

The heat of Al Simhara was intense. I had expected it to be warm, but this was a little much! I didn't see how the locals could wear long sleeves and pants in such sweltering heat, as I was sweating through my tank top. Trying to gather my thoughts, I checked the board for a new adventure. There was one to explore beneath a minor pyramid. Ooh! Maybe I'll see a mummy!

I hadn't really intended to visit the market this early on, as I wanted to earn some money from adventuring. However, when I was checking my supplies, I realized that I had left my tent at home! Blast! At least the fountain in the middle of the marketplace offered some respite form the heat. As I realized I didn't have the money for a tent, I knew that I would just have to return to base camp more frequently than usual. So I splashed my face, and headed off to the pyramid.

My journey was disrupted only when I spotted an area that seemed to be ripe for excavation. I pulled out my delicate little brush and began sweeping the sand off the shards. Most of it was trash, but I did manage to uncover a nice gem and several ancient coins to add to my reserve. Now if only my Visa levels were high enough to buy what I wanted!

I finally reached the pyramid and found the secret entrance. When I stepped inside, I was in awe of the sheer magnificence of the Egyptian tombs. They were grandly decorated with intricate hieroglyphs and large statues: much more impressive than the tombs of China or France. I nearly forgot why I was there! But I remembered that I was to collect flame fruit (because apparently Egypt isn't hot enough), so I searched every nook and cranny to find my prize.

I had grown accustomed to sarcophagi in my other travels, but they had all been empty. So imagine my surprise when I realized that a mummy was standing right over my shoulder! Suppressing a shriek, I knew that this was the moment that my martial arts would benefit me! After all, it was only self-defense to protect oneself from becoming a mummy, right? Well, either way, I desperately wanted to teach this mummy not to mess with Brienne Farther!

Wham, bam, thank you ma'am! That silly mummy didn't stand a chance! Once I got him into a choke hold, the poor thing had no choice but to give up. Once he recovered his feet, the mummy declared that I was henceforth a mortal enemy to all mummy kind, and that someday one of his kind would take me down. I shrugged the threat off and told him to bring it on. The mummy ambled back to his sarcophagus in defeat, as I realized that I was thoroughly exhausted. I would have to finish my explorations tomorrow.

Luckily, the base camp at Al Simhara had plenty of tents for use. I was tempted to pack one up and borrow it for the duration of my journey, but I didn't want to get arrested by a foreign police brigade. Instead, I quickly changed into my pajamas and caught some z's. I had very pleasant dreams of defeating mummies and finding wonderful relics to take home to Monte Vista.

While I was grabbing a quick bite for breakfast, a strange woman sat down at my table without even asking. She gave me the creeps, but when I told her I was looking for flame fruit, she suggested I ask the woman who worked at the restaurant in the market. I told her I would take up her suggestion and then got the heck out of there... I don't know why, but that woman was super creepy!

After speaking with the woman in the market (woefully, I forget her name!), she pulled me to the side and whispered in my ear exactly how to get into the chamber with the flame fruit. I thanked her profusely and promised that I would give her any extra fruit I obtained. She was ecstatic about the prospect of the gift; something to do with a secret recipe she wanted to try. I didn't quite understand, so I headed off to the pyramid.

I found the flame fruit with no trouble (I guess the word had gotten out to the mummies not to mess with me) and delivered them to my contact. We chatted for a bit, making me realize that I didn't really have any friends. It would be nice to be able to share my stories with others. Perhaps when I return to Monte Vista, I should work on that.

The rest of my days were spent exploring the landscape of Al Simhara. It was a beautiful place, and I was quickly becoming accustomed to the heat. The pyramids were massive; I had a hard time believing that sims built them instead of great construction machines. I was so in awe, that my trip was practically over before I knew it!

My last hours were spent excavating sites and gathering some gems. I was becoming quite proficient at excavation and even uncovered a couple of nice relics. It was surprisingly relaxing to sift through the sands and equally exciting when I uncovered something other than litter. Yet, as the last minutes of my trip trickled away, I felt like someone was watching me...

Bah, that's just silly! I returned to Monte Vista with a new kind of adventure in mind: establishing myself in my home town. I wanted friends and to better myself before I started my adventures back up again. Monte Vista could prove to be just as exciting as Egypt, China, and France all rolled into one!

I love the mummy scene! I thought that she would fight the mummy using Sim-Fu that she has learned in China? And I loved the screenshots, you’re very good capturing the moment and I loved it. I always love to see screenshots anyway second the story, which add more feel!

I'll be waiting for the next upcoming chapter then!

Haha, I guess all her Sim-Fu training went out the window, and the noogie instinct kicked in!

Thank you for the compliments. I should have another post up tomorrow. :)

Trip 04 - Home Sweet Monte Vista

Back home in Monte Vista once again, I needed a little break from my adventuring. I headed over to my favorite place (the gym) and took a refreshing dip in the pool. The water helped ease the tension of travel and had me right as rain in no time. Now that I was feeling better, I thought I should meet some new people. There were lots of people at the gym, and they were probably just as sporty and athletic as me!

Upstairs, I met a woman named Adora Almeria and her daughter Marta. I was surprised that Adora was my own age, yet already had a daughter! I was nowhere near ready for children! Despite that difference, Adora and I began chatting, and before I knew it, we were finding out a lot about each other!

By the time Adora had to leave (it was getting late and her daughter had to go to school in the morning), we were good friends. We parted with a hug. I guess that Never Dull lifetime reward really helped my socializing! Oh, I guess I should tell you. By this time I had acquired several lifetime rewards: Never Dull, Observant, Learned Relic Hunter, Jetsetter, Steel Bladder, Discount Diner, Opportunistic, Prepared Traveler,  Dirt Defiant, and Eye Candy.

While it was nice having a friend of my own, I was getting pretty lonely all alone on my property. An idea popped in my head, so I grabbed my cell phone and gave the local animal shelter a ring. They said they had a wonderful, sweet-tempered old gal that really needed a new home. I thought that sounded wonderful and told them to clean her up and bring her over straight away!

Everyone, meet Rose Farther! She's an English Setter and has the traits Loyal and Destructive. As we mostly live outside, I wasn't too worried about the Destructive trait; I had nothing of value she could harm and the trait can be easily altered. She really was a sweet dog, and we took to each other immediately. I had never had a pet before, so Rose's gentle personality really helped ease my fears.

Despite Rose's age, she was still very much an active dog. I decided to put her energy to good use and teach her to hunt gems. She didn't seem to be getting it at first, and I got discouraged. Then all of a sudden it clicked for her! She brought me back a hunk of metal on her first excursion. Not exactly a gem, but not bad for a first try! She could be a mighty hunter yet!

When she wasn't hunting, Rose regarded herself as a queen. She was such a dignified lady, even while she was going at her dinner! Her grace knew no bounds. Most dogs look silly with overexcitement when they hunt, but not Rose. She had learned to reign in that energy and use it productively.

Trying to get into the swing of things in Monte Vista, I got into a nicely comfortable schedule during my work days. I would work, come home and play with Rose, grab a quick bite to eat, shower, and go to bed only to repeat the process the next day. I was steadily climbing the career ladder while improving my relationship with Rose. It wasn't as exciting as adventuring, but had its own charm. By the time I had a day off, I realized I hadn't talked to Adora in a while. I grabbed my phone and we had a nice long chat, cementing our best friend status.

When I began to feel the Autumn chill in the air, I knew I couldn't be running around in just shorts and a tank top any longer or I would end up hospitalized. Adora told me that I could use the styling stations as the Salon for free to find a new look. It was nice to be able to wear some warmer clothes, but still within my same sense of practical style.

I spent a lot of my off-days playing with Rose and exploring Monte Vista. The picturesque landscapes seemed almost entirely untouched by autumn, the falling leaves being the only give away. I loved riding around on my scooter, zipping quickly through the city streets or just letting the wind blow in my hair as I wandered the country roads. The peace and tranquility were indeed splendid, but I could already feel the stirrings to travel again...

Rose was a champion at finding precious metals and gems. I wanted to have 5000 simoleons in my bank before I headed off on another trip, and Rose was working hard to help me achieve that goal. She didn't always bring back something valuable, but she was getting better and better all the time.

While Rose hunted, I worked on my martial arts skill. I wanted to be able to break space rocks, the hardest substance known to sim, which could also produce gems. I was breaking oak boards when I gained a new belt. I was so excited to show off my new belt that I didn't have time to turn to camera! Oops!

Finally, a package came with the gems that would set me over my goal for simoleons. I would finally be able to take my trip! I was planning another venture to France, where I would study a bit more of nectar-making and learn some of their famous recipes.

Nervous to leave Rose home alone while I was gone, I decided to spend my last day in Monte Vista just with her. We played all her favorite games, then I gave her coat a good brushing. We headed over to the park to play some more. I even took the time to teach her a new trick. I was going to miss my baby girl, but I knew she would be in good hands as Adora had volunteered to look after her.

Finally, it was time to go. I called for a cab to the airport then I was off on my next grand adventure!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Sorry for the doggy spam, I just thought Rose was such a beautiful dog! Most of the animals I get from the shelter look odd.

Oh, how I do love Monte Vista! Although that I never explored so much! I only had my eyes for Constanzo Rossi, Gino Ferarri and there are two girls but I forgot who their name is :P

You seem love Rose a lot. Do you have one too in real world? I’m not an animal person although my parents and sister are the one. I think that’s alright for spamming once awhile!

I look forward for her new adventure! I hope your file is alright and never ever encounter with bugs bunny and oh after her adventure finished or along the way you could give her a chance to find her prince charming ^^
