The Nesbit Dynasty
« on: August 29, 2010, 06:58:32 PM »
Introducing Alpha Nesbit!  Nesbit is a name that I've used in my Sims since way back to Sims 1, and my very first Legacy family had this name, so it's a bit of a nod to my past families.  I picked it long ago because I think it's kind of a funny name, and it's fun to say, so there ya go!

And of course, my dear Alpha is blue.  Why?  Because it's my favorite color, and when you can have blue Sims then you MUST have blue sims!

He looks a little worried.  I would be too if I were him!  Heck, I'm a little worried myself!

Alpha's traits are Angler, Natural Cook, Green Thumb, Lucky, and Eco-Friendly.  His LTW is to become a 5-star chef, so that's what he's gonna do.  I figured that the reward fridge might be a nice thing to have at the start of the game.  His SuperMax is going to be cooking.  Hopefully.

And a nod to Monty Python, right, Aria? I want to say that name was in "How Not to be Seen."

Alpha has completely embraced his role as the Founder.  His first duty was to find a mate, and is there really a better mate than the hottest girl in town, Amy Bull?

I think not.

He spent his first day making friends with her, and then he decided to spend the night at her house.  She has a really comfy bed so that worked out pretty good.

And then the very next day he woo'd and married her.  I didn't get a picture of it, but immediately after he proposed she pee'd herself!  She really lived up to that Excitable trait!

Then he went off to his first day of work at the Bistro.

When he got home he invited Amy over to visit, and as soon as she arrived he went for the Private Wedding.  Yes, Weddings by the mail box are in vogue this season.

Amy didn't bring much in the way of funds to the family.  She added $7000 in cash, and thankfully she had a Big Lemon and an expensive Chinese book in her inventory so that boosted the total family funds up to $10,000.  It was enough to build a little house, although mostly unfurnished.

As a result, Alpha and Amy are taking turns scrounging up salvageables in the junkyard each day.

Amy has been painting away since the day she arrived and is now up to lvl 6.  Alpha hasn't worked much on cooking except when he's at work, but he's got a decent sized garden started.  I figure the cooking will nearly take care of itself in time.  I still haven't decided if cooking will be Alpha's SuperMax skill, or if I'll go with gardening.  I'm sort of winging it, so we'll see how it works out.

That could very well have been where I got the idea, I don't remember now, it's been so long ago!

That name, Mrs Nesbit, was in Toy Story.  Remember the robot guy had to play tea party with the little girl and he had on an apron and he was high on DarJeeling tea and she called him Mrs. Nesbit.  We used to play that part over and over because it was so funny.

We're in the midst of Week 2 now, and things are going well at the Nesbit house.  Alpha's earned a few promotions, and Amy's leveled her painting skill up to 7 and has painted a few portraits including 1 Brilliant.  There's still a few more days till Alpha's birthday, so she's trying to get that Masterpiece of him that she's always wanted.

So when the day came that they both rolled the wish to have their first child I thought, eh, why not?

Amy continued to work on painting during her pregnancy, and Alpha kept up with his long hours at the Bistro.  In his spare time, that garden sure was coming along nicely.

And when their day was over they'd fall into their nice new cozy bed and sleep like logs.  Amy in her goofy blue glasses, and Alpha... well, he's just blue all over.

Soon it was time for the newest Nesbit to arrive!

Everyone say it, you know you wanna!  "AWWWWWWwwww...."

Welcome to the virtual world, Beta Nesbit!

And check out all the cool stuff Mommy & Daddy picked up for you at the junkyard!

Everyone's safe and sound in their cozy beds inside their cozy house.

The next day Amy made a big decision, she decided that becoming a Fashion Phenom just wasn't the right path for her, instead she wants to focus on her family, her art, and her music.  So she picked up the phone and quit her job as a stylist.

Hopefully she's made the right decision.

Warning, big update ahead!

The day has come for little Beta to grow up!  I think he's pretty cute too!

Amy has taken a break from painting and sculpting to focus on teaching Beta how to pee in the potty and talk, while Alpha will take on the job of teaching him to walk.

The part of the game always hits a little too close to home for me... Art resembling Life or something like that.

In the midst of all this, Alpha aged up to an adult, and Amy went on to paint a Masterpiece of him, although you wouldn't believe it to look at it!

Another day, another block of ice.

Amy is so busy painting and sculpting now that she pretty much never does anything else, so it was no surprise when she aged up to adult at the easel.

Alpha's garden is coming along nicely.  He's got quite a few special seeds in the ground, although they haven't matured yet.

But wait...

What's that???

You have GOT to be kidding me?!

So, after all that seed hunting, I'm back to square one.  Except now I've got a really sweet hole in the ground and $7,000 cash to sooth my troubles.

He's to hoping for some very specific special seeds when Alpha replants, because all he had in his inventory pre-meteor were some apples, lettuce, watermelon, and onions.  *BIG SIGH*

I think this event has pretty much sealed the deal for Alpha's SuperMax skill, he's probably going to have to go with cooking now.

Oh well, onwards and upwards!

Beta made the perfect pose for his first portrait, it turned out Brilliant, and I'm ok with that.

Amy was able to pick up a camera at the consignment store on Week 2 so she's got pics of Alpha and Beta in the proper age stages, although she FORGOT to get one of Beta as a toddler.  Oh well.  This is what happens when you play too late and your brain is half asleep.

Beta had his birthday!  I picked Lucky for his third trait, his first two are Artistic and Loner.  I figure he's going to spend a lot of time by himself sculpting and painting.

Move over Crib, Hello junk yard bed!

Beta's already started on his painting skill.

And I thought this was pretty funny, Amy made a perfect little Ice Potty, too bad Beta never got to use it.

With the extra money they made from the meteor they were able to buy their first property, Brunton's Boxcar Diner.

Nothing else exciting happened.  Their days are currently filled with school, sculpting, and seed gathering.  Each day is a bit of a rinse, wash, and repeat at this point.  I'm waiting for Alpha to reach level 10 of his culinary career and get that super fridge, and then I'll start filling it up with meals to reach his SuperMax challenges.

What a relief that no-one was hurt by the meteor!  Too bad about the garden, though.

I thought I wanted a meteor until I had one!  It was such bad timing!  One more day and I would have had at least some life fruit in my inventory.

Too bad about the meteor, seems they target the gardens for some reason, because your is not the first.  So strange.  Good story Aria.
Is it true that cannibals don't eat clowns because they taste funny?
