Those look like docks with houseboats in the picture Corey posted, I wonder if they are real ports for docking your IP houseboats on or fake ones with static homes.

It's a very interesting looking place, one of the few towns Late Night buildings might not look out of place in, I rarely use the high rises in the bin but I could see them fitting in here if there is space.

I was also wondering about those houseboats/docks. It would be nice to have a diving enabled store world too :)

Wasn't there a location in the Urbz called Diamond Heights.  Some of the decor and clothing in the video remind me of that.

The Sims 3 has put up a comprehensive guide on how to build your own roller coaster for the new world due out next week, Roaring Heights:

You can find it here:

Thanks Bri,  makes me really keen to give building a roller coaster a go! I love it when there is new content etc etc

Roaring Heights Available at the Store, replay of the broadcast
« Reply #51 on: December 12, 2013, 03:16:33 PM »
Note:  This is just a combining of two posts.

If you want to watch a replay of the Roaring Heights broadcast, you can find it here on Twitch TV:

Roaring Heights broadcast.

As for Roaring Heights:
Roaring Heights is now available at the Sims 3 store.

As with other Worlds in the Sims 3,  you can't purchase it via Simpoints, you have to buy it with actual money.

The base world is $20, the Gold Edition is $35.  What is the difference?  The Gold Edition gives you the Boardwalk Attire Set (it is a clothing set) and 1900 Simpoints.  Realize neither includes the Roller Coaster.

Information on the basic editions can be found here:

Roaring Heights

However, if you wish to have the Roller Coaster, then you need to purchase a new venue simply called The Boardwalk.  (Be sure not to confuse it with the Boardwalk Attire Set mentioned above).  However, if you aren't interested in the world, and just want to get the Roller Coaster, you can purchase it separately.  (Purchasing the Gold Edition of Roaring Heights gives you enough SimPoints to get the Boardwalk)

You can find it here:
The Boardwalk (Comes with the Roller Coaster Kit).

I've just purchased the gold bundle and can't find it anywhere on my system and it doesn't show up in the EA launcher.  The only thing I can find is the email purchase receipt.  Where is it?  How do I get it to the game?

I would recommend logging into your account at the Sims 3 store, and then go into Purchase History.  It may take a few minutes to show up in the history, though.

Otherwise, you could go to the Store Page for Roaring Heights itself  and it should show it available for download.  Once again, it may take a few minutes for it to process.

If a large amount of time passes, you may have to get a hold of the EA's customer support.

Hi Bri, Got it from the store.  Thanks so much.  It looks like a ton of fun.  Can't wait to see it in action.

I had a weird little glitch in the site where the Boardwalk Attire set didn't show up in my Purchase History (I got the simpoint bundle for the Gold edition, so it was supposed to be there). Anyways, I got around it by going to the set's actual page and downloading it from there. If anyone else has the issue after purchasing the Gold bundle, here's the set's actual page. It's not available for separate purchase, but there should be a download button if you're already entitled to the set.

Can't wait to open up this world. ;D

The Boardwalk Attire set didn't show up in my purchase history either, but when I opened up the world, the clothes are available in CAH.

I have finally got this world installed! I really like it. The hair and clothes are okay, though I don't think I like them as much as the ones from Midnight Hollow or Monte Vista. The rabbitholes are very nice and I love the community garden. There are some very interesting households, including a rich bachelor and a little orphan that lives in his house. I've got the Boardwalk as well but I'm yet to play around with it.

I've put up a list of Roaring Heights' residents here. They're quite an impressive bunch, including May West and MD Fields, Elliot Nest, Virginia Supine (Woolf) and Ainsley Andrews (Ansel Adams). If you have Late Night or Showtime, I'd recommend adding the studio or some of the performance venues so that all the talented sims have some place to realize their dreams.

There are two 64x64 empty residential lots  that could be used for dynasties --

36 Riverside Terrace
20 Paradise Drive

There is also a 64x64 commercial lot at 39 Beach Drive.

I love the look of the city and also the clothes.

I already brought up the dynasty lots to Nutella and Metro. :) Those two are approved, as well as 25 Beach Drive (60x60).

There are also a lot of 50x50 lots around. I like how it's like a big city, but with far more empty space to build than in Bridgeport. I love BP, but the lack of space is often infuriating.
