Adopt my Cloned baby?

So I have cloned from DNA and I get a baby - but it is listed as an 'acquaintance'. When I harvest a Plant Sim it is my 'child'. I want to adopt this baby so that the game will recognize it as mine. True enough, I can give it my last name - but when the family tree is clicked on it will not be listed as my child.

Is there any data out there regarding this issue? I did not see any in the forum.

The cloned babies are unrelated to your sim by design, and there isn't an in-game way to officially making them your sim's child.

If you're not opposed to mods, Twallan's Master Controller has a function to edit sim relations, so that you could make the cloned baby recognized as your sim's child. But aside from that, they're only their child in your imagination.
