Is there any way to take plants when you move?

I have a gardener Sim who I started on a small lot, and now I have extra cash and want to move to a bigger house. Must I abandon all my planted plants?

I've tried putting plants in pots in family inventory, but that hasn't worked for me. The only thing I can suggest is to plant the best of what you've harvested when you get to the new house. You can still have access to your old plants if you're in the same neighborhood, just move them to the front yard or remove your fence. I don't think zombies will spawn unless you're on the lot at the time, but you might lose some to deer and horses.

It's a long time since I did this, and my memory may be faulty, but I'm sure I remember putting money trees in a Sim's inventory to move them.  I'm talking about plants that were in the garden, not in pots (it was before there were plant pots in the game).   Possibly other plants as well as the money trees, I honestly don't remember.  It seems to me that the plants lost their perfect quality when they were replanted, but they did survive.  Have you tried moving the plants into your Sim's inventory?  As I say, it was a long time ago and successive patches or EPs may have changed things, but I'm sure I remember doing it.
