Chapter Seven - Monsoon Wedding
Elysium: Make a wish, darling.
Anarkali: *I wish to finally wear my anarkali dress!*
Anarkali: Huh...
The very next day, it was time for Anarkali's graduation ceremony. With everyone's busy schedule it took all morning for them to change and by late evening, Anarkali emerged as valedictorian. Strangely, her classmates voted her most likely to burn down her own house. Did they really think she was capable of something so dangerous?
While Anarkali went to join the fortune teller career, Kyoko and Gene spent as much time together as possible. Gene watched the cooking channel now and then, she was in no rush to max the skill with Len still around.
Pearl: I feel...
Pearl: E-Ely?
Elysium: I'm here.
Amid the sobs, Pearl could just make out her life-long friend.
Pearl: Don't fail, Ely, just be careful, please?
Elysium: I-I will.
Kyoko: Mum! Don't leave me!
She had fulfilled her wish and provided the first few museum sculptures. She'd raised an adopted daughter and seen Kyoko marry her true love. Pearl smiled at her daughter and went gladly with Grim. Dear Pearl passed away at the age of 81.
The house felt strange without Pearl's presence. From time to time someone cried and needed consoling. Anarkali bought the cemetery and moved Pearl's headstone there, she had a plan for the future that she wasn't going to share with anyone until the right time.
Her parents moved out of the master bedroom so she was able to decorate it to her taste.
After work on her very first day, Anarkali drove to Performance Park. She'd had her eye on one of the proprietors, Rashad, and now she was old enough to date him.
Rashad joined the household and got a change of clothes and hairstyle. It was only right for Anarkali to propose in her garden, her favourite place in the whole house.
She didn't know if everyone was remembering Pearl or they were all just emotional.
It somehow seemed appropriate to get married in the rain but no one complained even when their clothes were wet through.
