Epitaphs on property
« on: November 09, 2013, 05:12:28 AM »
In case no one knows by now, I have the pets version on ps3. Recently two visitors died while they were at my house (at a baby's birthday party, mind. how inconsiderate, right? ;) ) so kidding aside, they left their epitaphs behind right where they died which has never happened to me before. I had a sim die in a previous game that wasn't part of the family and he didn't leave his behind. I tried appeasing the ghosts but the epitaphs stayed. They don't bother me much, I was just curious about why they're there. I can't move/sell them and the reaper didn't seem interested in them

Pretty sure you can go into build/buy mode and either delete them or drag them into your inventory. Come to think of it, in Pets, I'm sure you could click on it and it should say "take"? I know when I played on console, someone would die at the park etc and leave an urn or gravestone, I'm sure I could just click on it. But on your own lot, buy/build mode should work it moving it or putting it in your inventory, which I think you can then put it in the graveyard?

Thanks for the reply <3 Yeah I tried going to build/buy mode and I couldn't move them or delete them. I also tried deleting the floor and foundation around them but that didn't work. In build/buy mode I can't do anything with them. They won't even be highlighted. If they start to bother me I'll just move the sims elsewhere. That will suck 'cause I built the house from scratch but oh well, means new sims will move in for my sims to make friends with :) maybe while they're moved out I can take them but I can't at the moment

You could save your built house, but everything that is in it will be saved, too, included the remains. Not sure if it would save the glitch you are having, or  if once you placed your house again, the epitaphs would then becoming deletable etc. I think it might work, I vaguely recall having a house with a glitched picnic basket/blanket in the backyard, which wouldn't go away. So I saved the house, moved the sims, demolished the glitchy house, then put the saved one back on the lot and managed to remove the picnic basket. So maybe you could try that? It might work, and if not, you're no worse off than now.
