Sorry if there's already been a thread on this. So in my current game, Stella and Richie Striker had 2 more children after Sebastian, the pre-made son, before splitting up. Then Stella married Harry Marks, and ended up having 6 children with him, a set of twins and a set of quadruplets, something which came as quite a surprise to me. Anyway, all 4 quads inherited Stella's bright blue eyes and the boy twin inherited Harry's light blue/grey eyes. But I've noticed that the girl twin has brown eyes, very much like her other siblings from Stella and Richie's marriage, who inherited Richie's eyes. So how could the child inherit the same colour eyes as her siblings when they got them from their father, who isn't related to the child at all? Is it just random? A glitch? I'm curious as I found it odd. Sims genetics can be weird sometimes. Like 5 out of 6 of Harry's children inherited his dark hair with the blue highlites, which I changed to just black, no highlites, because it just didn't seem right to me. Anyone else had any weird genetics experiences?

We do have a thread on genetics already.  When I get a chance to find it, I'll merge your thread with it.

To have quadruplets, you must have a mod installed in your game.  By itself, the game will only produce triplets, twins, and singles.  As for the eye color, unless the mod has some kind of control over it, it's just a random occurrence.  The kids don't always get their parents' coloring and random colors slip in from time to time.

Edit:  Ok, I found a good thread for merging.  Doing it now.

I'll just go ahead and chime in with my current experiences.  I'm playing Carina Dreamweaver and Pez Dreamweaver in what started out as my Baby Boomer V Challenge file.  (Pez is Christopher Steel's son from my Townie DecaDynasty and he is pretty much a clone of Christopher, which is why I used him for the challenge.)  They have 10 kids so far.  Out of those 10, only one has hair that doesn't come from Carina or Pez.  It's a son who has black hair.  Other than that one feature, every other child has an awesome mix of Carina and Pez.  A couple look just like one parent.  Others have Carina's hair with Pez' eyes and mouth.  And vice versa.  One thing I haven't seen yet is Carina's eye shape with Pez' eye color.  I'm quite fascinated with how they are all turning out and I'm saving them to upload in our Swap Shop.  :)

Thanks Pam :) yes I have some nraas mods but didn't know any of them could cause quadruplets. Apparently it's the woohooer mod that default sets a slim chance of quads.

But yes, thanks. I presumed it must be random, I was just confused because it was the same colour as Richies eyes and her half siblings eyes. Coincidental i guess :)

And yes I'm fascinated by sims genetics too, it's do interesting to see what mix of each parent the children inherit! Thanks for the help!

Yes, it's coincidence.  The game has the eye colors saved in the files and that same (or a similar) brown can just be randomly pulled from the files to use on any Sim.

Quadruplets with mods is possible using Master Controller and Woohooer (or possibly just Woohooer). Hopefully that's ok to mention here. You can set the percentage chance by clicking on the City Hall and going into NRaas>Woohooer>so on, I don't remember the exact location - I know it's there, but I haven't played with woohooer in a long time.
I have heard people without mods getting lucky and ending up with quadruplets, but that's likely a glitch as the game hasn't even implemented a moodlet that says "Quadruplets!" Like they do with "Had a Boy!" "Had a Girl!" "Had Twins!" such moodlets.
Anywho, I agree with Pam on the eye color situation. :)

Yes, it's ok to talk about the mods.  I just ask that the conversation go to the Mods board if it continues because it's off-topic here.

Quidruplets in the regular game has to be a glitch.  Maybe similar to the one where the mother keeps having baby after baby after baby.  It just never stops and you have to force exit the game.

Whoah! It's kinda scary I imagine. Popping kids after kids... (gotta be a very strong mother there)

Nope. Someone here got to about 30 kids once before they gave up and quit. I think it was Juxtaposition?

Hahaha! Okay, that is one hilarious glitch. I'm impressed someone would wait it to 30 nooboos before force-quitting!

As for random hair and eye colors, if save pre-set colors in Create-A-Sim, then the game may randomly select one of those pre-sets instead of the parents'. Although, I recently got a shade of blond which didn't seem to be any pre-set or ancestor's, so I'm not sure what's up with that.

There might be hidden hair colors; I mean, it's not like I can create a sim with awful green-brown colored hair from CAS! I've never looked into it deeply.

She seems to have gotten everything from Agnes, except for her skintone, eyecolor, and eyeshape, which are Chris', and has the preset red-auburn hair, which is more similiar to Chris' than to Agnes' blonde.

The reason her nose and mouth seem different, is because she's a teen and not an adult, plus she's wearing different makeup. Also because Chris' eyes are bigger than Agnes', making the Crumplebottom mouth and nose look smaller than it already is!
