Oh no, I want to know what's up next :z

Your wish is my command  ;)

Chapter 27: Immortal

Dallas is worried about his mother, so much so he even gets distracted from arguing with his sister if June enters the room. I understand his worry perfectly, June has lived for so long now it's almost as if she too is immortal, but we all know that isn't true.

Zebulon was holding a party and had invited the girls, Grace was working at the bistro now and her boss was our old friend Bob Newbie, Grace really likes Bob but then he's a very easy guy to like.

There's no doubting Puzzle is pretty, she attracts a lot of attention from men, Preston her old school friend tried it on but she shrugged him off as she is already taken, shame she can't show that same loyalty to Zebulon where my husband is concerned.

While the girls were out enjoying themselves tragedy struck at home.

June was 110 when she died and had fulfilled every wish she had ever dreamed of, she was happy to leave this world and join Tom in the next.

At first I thought MaryKay was making some nefarious deal with the Grim Reaper, that would be so like her.

And what's more he agreed.

But it seems it was nothing more than an innocent water balloon fight, odd thing to do when your mother has just died MaryKay.

Tom was distraught over June's death, Dallas tried to calm him down but he just wouldn't listen.

And then on top of everything Dallas' pager went off, he was needed down at the station, he left work about an hour before his shift was due to start again but he had no intentions of going back, his mother had just passed away and he needed time to grieve so he took some vacation. I was surprised when he came home again, I really hadn't expected him so soon, but he just told me to pack my bags as we were going back to China for a few days, I wasn't about to argue with that.

Chapter 28: Holding Back The Years

June's death wasn't the only thing that had prompted this holiday, Dallas had a birthday coming up and he wanted to finish what he had started while he was still young and fit, namely retrieving Pangu's Axe. Part of that involved learning the Martial Arts skill, all my reading during our previous trip had turned up a few things that would help him in his quest, the main one being that the tomb was large and full of dangers but a person skilled in martial arts could easily avoid them.

He tried to phone MaryKay the day after we arrived and got the same response he had given her in Egypt, she didn't want to talk.

We have a new addition to our home, a very pretty little iguana Dallas found named Izzy, he loves it and spends ages making a fuss of it.

This place truly is our sanctuary, we both feel at peace here, for me it is a wonderful place to be creative whereas Dallas spends a lot of time jogging, he often jogs to the Temple of Heaven and back, I can't say I blame him as the scenery is spectacular.

Finally after much practice Dallas is able to meditate at last, he told me not to wait up for him as he may be some time, it takes quite a lot of meditation to achieve zeneport.

But it was worth it as it meant he could avoid the long and confusing tomb and just teleport directly over the chasm in front of the axe.

I can't help wondering just how many explorers have tried and failed to retrieve this legendary artifact. I always knew Dallas was special but then that's mostly because I am biased, but I never dreamt he was part of an ancient prophecy told for countless generations. The fact he now held Pangu's axe proved it must be true.

Either that or I've been reading too many stories, I know that is what Dallas would say.

He gave me quite a shock when he suddenly arrived in the middle of the living room, it seems doors aren't good enough for heroes anymore.

Even here I'm not allowed to cook, Dallas does all the meals, he's almost as good a cook as Grace and makes some very nice egg rolls. I have snuck to the fridge a few times but he gets so cross with me if I do. I understand why, the book gave strict instructions about things like this, I'm a painter and I have no place cooking, that is Grace's task but sometimes I just fancy making something for myself for a change.

Dallas though had his own solution and put a padlocked gate around the cooker.

All too soon our vacation is over once more, as much as we would love to stay here and hold off time a little longer it just isn't possible, nothing can stop the fact that Dallas is getting older but every birthday draws us closer to the moment when he will be gone and I will have to carry on without him.

Chapter 29: There All Along

The day has arrived, It might have been nice to have had a party but both Grace and MaryKay would be working, so instead Grace cooked us a special meal at the bistro.

Then we bought a cake at the grocery store and took it to the Gazebo, as it turned out some of our friends did join in our little celebration as Max, Susie and Oscar were there.

Dallas really didn't want to get old, I can't say I wanted him to either but I was looking forward to not being the only old person in the house.

Dungarees are apparently the latest fashion trend for the country gent, or at least I'm assuming they must be as everybody is wearing them, even Dallas.

Back home again he ditched the dungarees for something far more flattering.

"Hmm I wonder if I can get hair dye that colour." Dallas you can get anything you want, including an eyebrow wax, how do such neat eyebrows suddenly become a pair of hairy caterpillars overnight?

A quick spruce up and he's as good as new, a little more wrinkled around the edges maybe but still my Dallas.

Both Grace and Puzzle are doing well at work and earning steady promotions, but in other matters Puzzle is easily outdoing Grace, the situation in town hasn't really changed much since they left high school, if anything it has gotten worse as the last crop of children have grown up and as yet none have replaced them.

I guess she was feeling lonely and that is why when Bob asked to meet her at the library she mistook his invitation for something else.

Bob let her down gently but she still felt a fool, I guess I should have told her about his engagement to Betty but I only just found out myself.

"I can't believe I just came on to my boss, what must he be thinking?".

Dallas had already come to terms with his mothers death but MaryKay was still finding it a bit hard, a trip to the Gazebo had some rather unexpected results when she ran into the McDermott family.

In a way Max has always been there, in the background, dancing with her at our parties, even sitting next to her at school sometimes, but until now that is as far as it had ever gone, but a few kind words from Max opened a floodgate.

Before she knew it MaryKay was in his arms crying her heart out and Max just let her.

It was quite telling that he didn't pull away, even when she glowed, most of Riverview hated her by now but not Max, he was still there just as he had always been.

It had taken her a long time but finally MaryKay had found something, or rather someone, that made her happy.

Chapter 30: Retirements

Dallas is on a mission to get his lost muscles back, I don't have the heart to tell him it's a waste of time, he'll find that out for himself soon enough.

After her faux pas with Bob, Grace decided she wanted to go clubbing, but it seems she was the only person in the whole of Riverview who did, so instead she just spent the night spilling her sorrows to the mixologist. She did learn a new drink recipe though so it wasn't a totally wasted evening.

If Grace is getting no attention Puzzle is getting too much, even Kurt and Tom are trying their luck now.

"And it turns out Max is a kleptomaniac, no wonder he didn't run away from her." Kurt likes to keep up on all the latest goings on.

And just how do I know that little piece of information? well because Max has moved in, and just in time for their joint birthday, I do find it odd that four kids in our class share a birthday, MaryKay, Maximus, Bob and Betty, amazing timing by their mothers.

The fates were not kind to MaryKay, not only did they make a magicians hat magically appear on her head.

They also gave her a sudden bout of incontinence, welcome to old age MaryKay!

Both siblings had achieved their dreams and in doing so it had driven a wedge between them, it was time to remove it. MaryKay made the first phone call.

And Dallas the second.

Although I think he had a few second thoughts about retirement afterwards.

But hopefully now they can start to rebuild the friendship they once had as teenagers.

I don't think it will be too hard, MaryKay seems like a different person now Max is around, I've honestly never seen her so happy.

Ah, just look at you! More updates!

26
I suspect that you didn't notice about Puzzle and her action, so you had no chance to cancel that queue ;D
It's nice to see recurring character in this episode. Well, I'm happy for June & Tom.

27
June has been live for a long time. May peace be with her, at last we know she will still wandering around the house :)
Is interaction option with Grim Reaper still available due to recent patch? Well, you know somebody might use that as a chance to bring out surprises :P

28
That was clever! Using zeneport to retrieve Pangu's Axe from that confusing place! Unfortunately I took that confusing route instead using meditation (-3-)

29
Bob isn't a bad choice either, Grace. Just go for him or wait for someone else :P
Finally! MaryKay found someone! *dance happily*

30
Too bad there's no chance for nooboo :( That romantic interaction also happen to my Sims, well other Sims who's not in my control.
Well, at least glad to know that everyone is happy even MaryKay and Dallas will rebuild their friendship :)

Chapter 31: Unexpected

Love is a strange thing, it can hit you when you least expect it, that is what happened to Grace today, she had been asked to do do an opportunity by Trigger Broke, now I'm sure she must have met Trigger before, after all he's been to several family parties and has been a dear friend for years, but something strange happened when she went to tell him she had finished what he asked, she had the overwhelming urge to kiss him, a man older than her father and just barely younger than me. What's more she got the feeling he wanted the same.

With her shift about to start she had to leave him but as soon as work was over she went back with a bunch of flowers.

She never came home that night.

And when she did finally come home the next day she brought Trigger with her.

As much as I would have liked Grace to have found somebody nearer her own age if she's chosen Trigger then I shall stand by her, I just worry how much time they will have as he is already 84. I offered him a new wardrobe but he refused, saying he's comfortable in his shabby shorts, he always was a slob, he did let me dye his hair though.

Max and MaryKay went away to China for a few days and came back married!

They decided against having a big ceremony and just had a private wedding at the Scholars Garden.

It sounds like they had a wonderful time, there was just one slight problem though.

"Who's a little sweety then, yes you are."

"Oh no!".

"You killed my Izzy!".

"Help! he's attacking my wife."

I don't think Max quite understands the family he married into, if he did he'd know this is normal and not to take too much notice, besides MaryKay is more than capable of taking care of herself.

Trigger had a little secret, before he met Grace he had been seeing Lulu Mather, but now he wanted to ask Grace to marry him and he couldn't do that with Lulu still around, they had never gone beyond flirtation but even so if Grace found out he already had somebody else she might think he was cheating on her. Understandably Lulu was upset at being dumped but it had to be done.

And it meant he could now pop the question with no worry of any nasty skeletons appearing.

I'm afraid with a nearly full house the ghosts had become a bit too troublesome and so reluctantly I had removed the urns from the pedestals and put them onto tables, it meant they didn't stay out all the time now but the moment Tom put in an appearance Grace just had to tell him her good news.

She was finally getting married.

Did you change Trigger last name before he end up propose Grace? Or you just let his last name as he is. I always love when seeing a man proposing woman. But, that doesn't mean that I dislike the other method.  I think that just the way they are or should be :P

MaryKay the bear just like to be herself, I believe that Dallas also enjoy that kind of relationship. Congratulations Grace. I can hear that the wedding bell and nooboo will come around soon.

My internet died shortly after I posted that this morning else I'd have had more up today, it's still a bit intermittent but I'll try and get the wedding up at least.

Did you change Trigger last name before he end up propose Grace? Or you just let his last name as he is. I always love when seeing a man proposing woman. But, that doesn't mean that I dislike the other method.  I think that just the way they are or should be :P

I too prefer the men to propose, so yes Grace is now a Broke, surnames change throughout this dynasty but at the heart of it is Tracey and Dallas hence me calling it Shallow.

MaryKay the bear just like to be herself, I believe that Dallas also enjoy that kind of relationship.

That's partly why I only downgraded hot headed to grumpy, she's just not MaryKay without at least some bad moods, as for Dallas well I do notice he is quite different without Tracey around, he's more like the other members of his family, picking fights, insulting people and stuff, she seems to be a good distraction for him that keeps his more evil tendancies in check  ;D

Grace and Trigger totally came out of the blue, she did literally roll a wish to kiss him after handing in that op, she'd shown no interest at all in anybody else so I thought okay lets go for it, a few hours after he moved in he rolled the wish to propose so maybe they were just meant to be.

I always try and let my sims choose their partners, MaryKay was the same, all those dates and nothing then suddenly she wanted to kiss Max, secretly I was hoping she would as in my failed townie dynasty the game had put them together and whenever I saw them around town MaryKay was all over Max so I really wanted to give them another chance but I wanted her to want it as well, she just took her sweet time about it  ::)

One thing I find going back over this story is the timeline of how the game changed with new expansions and patches, at this point the dresser ban was in effect which was why I couldn't change Triggers clothes so I just wrote it in as him being the slob that he is  ;D

Chapter 32: Till Death Do Us Part

A wedding is a nerve wracking time for any bride, for someone like Grace it's a nightmare.

But she didn't need to worry as it all went beautifully.

Unlike my own wedding we had remembered to roof off the reception area, no melted guests this time around.

"The wedding's over now Travis, you can stop throwing rice you know." It was strange how our three families were now so totally intertwined, what with Max marrying MaryKay, Trigger marrying Grace and his sister Susie being married to Travis, I never dreamt it would end up like this.

They do make a lovely couple though.

All these weddings have made Puzzle feel romantic and so she ended up doing something she had wanted to do for ages and proposed to Zebulon.

I don't know if and when they will get the chance to marry, I hope that one day they will but at the same time for that to happen people have to die, and I'd rather not think about that just yet.

Besides I have other things on my mind right now, like my husband flirting with Betty.

"Argghhh, what did you do that for?".

"Because you were flirting, and not with me."

He always looks like a sad puppy when I tell him off, it's strangely satisfying.

Of course it meant he had to do the apology dance, it's very popular at our parties.

"So am I forgiven?".

"Well I'm not sure I might want you to grovel a bit more first."

"I'll take that as a yes then."

It's not easy being married to a compulsive flirt but he could be far worse than he is, and at the end of the day he could have married any girl he wanted but he chose me, take that Betty Simovitch!

Glad that you can post the wedding though! You might want to change the title later or people will not notice about the update ;D

Congratulations Grace! May you end up happily with Trigger even for a short moment! So it's not decided yet for Puzzle to move in together with her lover? I believe household matter is the one problem here. Well, at least that they're engaged! I still can't believe that Dallas flirting over someone than Tracey!

Congratulations on completing your Immortal Dynasty, Turoskel!
You started off with rather 'difficult' characters, but you handle them beautifully.
It makes up for good entertainment and I'm very much enjoying your story. :)
