Chapter 60: Evil Doings

Kelly is thankfully oblivious to all the upset going on around her, she's a happy little thing most of the time, although she can be a bit stroppy.



Grace decided to cheer herself up with a trip to the park.



Seeing Kelly enjoying herself certainly helped.



"Come on now Kelly time to go home."

"No!".



"Just like your grandmother, she never wanted it to end either."



Sense it now Grace? seriously if looks could kill, thankfully they can't.



But two seconds later it was all forgotten.



Pretty soon it was her birthday.



It's not often we all sit down together to eat so this was a rare treat.



It didn't take Kelly long to find the one person who would happily listen to her plots.



But just what are those plots? well for starters she wishes to search for evil doings so we bought her a telescope for her birthday, I made sure to put it on the balcony facing away from town though, I still have vivid memories of that balloon ride with Dallas, some things a little girl should just not see.



I don't know what the future will hold for Kelly, she wishes to learn logic but what she will do with it we have yet to find out, will she be a doctor? or a policewoman? or maybe she will go over to the dark side and follow in MaryKay's footsteps, I hope not but that rebellious streak of hers might just mean she does.



"Kelly come with me, it's time we had a chat about things."

"Where are we going?".

"To the third floor to meet your ancestors."



"Oh that's mummy!"

"Yes and next to her is your grandmother Nadia."



"These are your great grandparents, that's Zebulon and that is Puzzle, she was Grace's imaginary friend just like your mother was your fathers."



"And these are the Shallows."

"Oooh is that Grandad Dallas? is that how he looked when he was alive?".

"Yes, yes it is."



"And who is this lady?".

"That is Dallas' sister MaryKay."

"Why is she all glowy?".

"It's a thing called the Aura of Evil."

"Wow, will I get one of those? it looks awesome."

"You'd think so wouldn't you but it's not as wonderful as it looks, it certainly never made MaryKay happy."



"Listen Kelly, sometime in the future you are going to have to make a choice about where you want to go in life, you have already decided you want to search the galaxy and play chess but that skill will open certain doors for you, one of which will be the same door that MaryKay chose, she wasn't that much older than you when she decided she wanted to be Empress of Evil, It may sound exciting to you now but I'm sure with hindsight she might have chosen a different career."

"But why?".

"Because ultimately getting the one thing she had always wanted made her miserable, and lonely, that fancy red glow can make people dislike you, even your own family."

"I don't think I'd like that."

"Neither did MaryKay, but she had a happy ending, come over here, this is Max, MaryKay's husband, MaryKay was almost an elderly lady when she finally found happiness with Max, despite knowing him most of her life."

"He has very orange hair."

"Yes he does rather, anyway Kelly what ever you decide to do with your life we will stand behind you but think carefully, sometimes things don't always turn out as you expect."



"So what did Grandad Dallas do?".

"Oh he was a police officer, well an International Super Spy to be exact."

"What like James Bond, did he have all the gadgets and stuff?"

"Erm.........no, well he had a pager, and the police car outside was his but no fancy gadgets."

"I bet Grandad could have made him some, he makes lots of things."

"Yes I bet he could have too, Kelly."

Chapter 61: Imaginary Enemy

When Kelly was a baby she received another of those mysterious dolls, his name is Pat.





"Dallas, do you ever get the feeling we are being watched?."

"Nonsense you're imagining things."



By now both Grace and Tad were full of talk about their Imaginary friends but not Kelly, she never mentions him.



She's too busy doing other things, like setting shower dye traps for her grandfather.



And trying to lose her doll "Hey, what are you doing out here?".



"Lets take you back inside shall we, Kelly would be gutted if she lost you."



I'm starting to get the feeling Kelly doesn't like Pat very much.




"Can't I even take a shower without you, get out of here Pat!."



"I just found Pat stuffed in a kitchen cupboard, what is that girl up to?."

"No Idea, perhaps China can have a word with her."



Although China isn't the greatest at negotiations judging by how much she throws her phone about in anger, I'm sure she can get the truth out of Kelly.



But it will have to wait for a bit, first it's China and Tad's birthday, it's also leisure day, we had a nice family day out at the summer festival.





Then came home to celebrate their birthdays.




"Kelly, I just found Pat in the recycle bin, want to tell me what this is all about?."

"I don't know, perhaps he fell in there."

"Kelly!"

"I don't want to marry Pat! he's grumpy and shouts at me, and he follows me into the shower, plus he's always singing like he's some sort of diva when he's not, he sounds awful, please don't make me marry him mum."



"Oh Kelly nobody is going to make you marry Pat, whatever gave you that idea?".

"Well you married dad."

"Because we love each other not because we were made to."



"What will happen to him if I don't make him real?".

"Honestly? I don't know Kelly, I think maybe you will just outgrow him and he will go back to being nothing more than a doll."



Reassured that she wouldn't be forced to marry him Kelly returned to playing with Pat once more and stopped trying to hide him.



But Pat just doesn't play nicely.



I can't help but wonder why Kelly's imagination conjured up such a mean person, it's almost as if she has an imaginary enemy instead of a friend, is it because she is evil? can a child's personality affect their imaginary friend I wonder, maybe Grace's neurosis made Puzzle insane, we shall probably never know.

I hope Kelly makes the right decision about the future, when she's much older of course. I felt sorry for her being terrorised by that doll.

Pat is like every kid's worst nightmare, an evil, grumpy, diva, possibly the worst trait combination I've seen in an IF. Evil on it's own isn't too bad, I don't like diva's much in any case but pair that with evil and it's just awful, then to add grumpy on top was just rubbing it in

Of course when they are toddlers you don't know the IF's traits, I thought insane might be a problem with Puzzle but she was no trouble apart from her flirting and China had good traits, just got unlucky this time.

That really is a bad combination, would have been fun in a non-dynasty play to see how it'd go.

That's so sweet of Kelly that she wants to be like MaryKay. I can understand why! Nothing wrong if she wants to be like MaryKay the Bear as long that she already know and ready to face the consequences. The Immortal Museum looks good

Hmm, I never had Sim child with Evil trait so I don't know. I hope Pat will be nice to Kelly or they will end up doing something evil together.

Chapter 62: The Rebel Rides Again

It's Kelly's birthday, she reminds me a lot of Dallas, she may be evil but it doesn't define her, she is a very family oriented girl.



Of course when Kelly grew up so did Pat, his temper hasn't improved any.



Nor has his sense of privacy, I have a feeling Pat will find himself stuffed in a chest again before long.



I can see a lot of both her parents in her, she has China's nose but Tad's bone structure, or should I say Triggers, his cheekbones live on for yet another generation.



And she loves Dallas more than anybody else, I guess he understands her better.



Tad is a superstar now, it wont be long before he is up there with his grandfather as a sports legend, he really has had an easy run of it, barring anything untoward happening to his best friends he will be eating ambrosia on his birthday instead of cake.



Good thing Dallas can no longer have a heart attack.



Kelly on the other hand should be more careful.



Tad had some big news for his dad when Stone met him from work, he had got his final promotion.



Stone had some news for Tad too, his sister Sheryl was there as well but Tad had walked right past her without realising.

"Ewww that's not my sister, she's all.........fleshy."



After he got over his shock at another fleshy simbot he went to say hello, it's the first time he's met Sheryl.



Of course she is very close to Stone, and he couldn't wait to show off Kelly.



Kelly is a sweet girl, she's always hugging everybody but she does have a mischievous side too.



Pat is still hanging about for now, although she mostly ignores him.



"hmmmm hmmm hmmm"



"Huh?"



"Kelly!"



She had her prom the other night, it was pretty uneventful although she did win prom queen after coercing them to give it to her, deep down this girl is a real Shallow.



Now that China has taught her to drive she's riding her great grandmothers rebel ride about town.



No idea what she gets up to when she's out but the police haven't been round yet so it can't be too awful.



"Guess what, I toilet papered Gran's office."



"Oh Kelly that's awful, but funny."



"But that's just between us right?".

Chapter 63: Little Sneak

"Oh god is he still here?".



"Look Pat I don't want to fight with you, please, just let me get ready for school."



"You'll never find anything, don't know why you bother."



"Well that's where you're wrong Pat because I have found something."



"Oh look at me I'm the great galaxy explorer, pffft, it's probably just a speck of dust on your lens."



"Pat please, can't we just be friends, why do you always have to be like this?".



"Because it's fun!".



"No Pat, it's not, not for me, I can't take it anymore, I want you to leave me alone."

"But Kelly.....".

"Sorry Pat, I think you should go now."



"Why couldn't you have been more like mum."



"See I did find something Pat, and it wasn't a speck of dust either."



There's been talk of supernaturals in other towns, not sure if I believe all that mumbo jumbo, although I didn't believe imaginary friends were real once either, City Hall must see some truth in those rumours though as they have built an arboretum in Four Bridges Park, they say it attracts fairies.



"Gran will never believe this."




They also added a Vault to Plaza Park, it contains all sorts of knowledge about supernaturals, well while I may be a little skeptical new things to read are always welcome.



"Oh no! how tragic, poor thing." Maybe all those Llama stations weren't such a good idea after all.



Stone made such a fuss about Kelly, Sheryl just had to come and meet her.



"Sheryl! what a nice surprise, we don't get many visitors."



"Kelly, why are you glowing?"

"It's fairy dust Gran, it's great you really should go in that place, you'll be able to get about so much quicker with a bit of this."



Just when Tad thought it was safe to go back in the shower.

"She wont have come down here in the basement surely, ughhh what's this yellow stuff, curse you Kelly I've got a game this afternoon I'll be a laughing stock!".



Meanwhile his father was having his own problems

"Hello Stone."

"Please tell me that's not your mother behind me?".



Stone did the best thing he could think of to avoid an awkward situation, he got out of their as fast as his old feet would take him.



Weekend over it was back to work but I had a nasty surprise waiting for me when I got there.

"Some student pranked my office with toilet paper, it was like snowflake day in there."

"Oh no! who would dream of doing such a thing to the Principal, I don't suppose you know who did it?".

"No, they were far too clever about it the little sneaks."



"Oh yes, far too clever, you'll never catch me out Gran."

Haha, Kelly gets away with it. Poor Stone, still running from Puzzle.

The last part about chapter 62 just made me laugh! It seems Kelly didn't know who else was there

I just love Kelly interaction with her family, especially with Dallas. They are so perfect each other. It's so good to see another recurring character too. Kelly life was interesting; maybe I should try them too in real life. Being good and sweet is boring, but nah! My computer will be confiscated if I do that

If you get annoyed by Pat why don't you just keep Pat in inventory, I believe that Pat will not bother Kelly again.

Oh I did keep Pat in inventory a lot, just got him out occasionally as it made for interesting screenshots.

Didn't get around to updating yesterday as I got all involved with alien babies in the future but I'll try to get a few up today.


Chapter 64: History Lesson

Grace and Stone have the most free time of any of us, they often get a little stir crazy so a trip to the local sim fest was a bit of a treat. Although Grace got quite upset when she saw Rosanna.

"What is wrong with this town? why can't they just accept my grandchildren for what they are? why do they insist on making them dress up as humans?".



Both Sheryl and Rosanna have bought houses in town, not sure where Teddy is staying, but all three now have jobs as performers, Stone is so proud of all his children.



He worships Tad, since Nadia died Tad has become his world and he follows him about like a lost puppy, Tad finds it hard to do anything without his dad interrupting him for a chat.



Grace finds lots of things to amuse herself with on her days off, there's virtual adventures.



Pool tricks, although I'm sure when work gave her that state of the art food mixer they didn't expect her to use it like this.



Perhaps it should have stayed in the kitchen after all.



And of course they have each other.



If things had turned out like they did for her father and great grandmother Kelly should have had a best friend forever too, instead she got Pat.

"Pat, I'm sorry I didn't mean it, please can't we try again."



But try as she might this is one friendship that is never going to work out, within moments it had devolved to arguing and the Shallow in Kelly surfaced once more.



Pat didn't even wait to be told to leave this time, he went of his own accord.



Dina Leyva was one of my toddlers, she's now one of Tad's teammates and she invited us to her spooky day costume party, I was amazed to find I can still fit in my old costume I wore to Oscar Alphender's party when Grace was just a child, it made me feel positively young again.



Party over we headed off to the festival.



Grace almost gave me a heart attack when I saw her ghost but it was just a temporary change thankfully.



You'd think I'd be more than used to seeing ghosts by now as we have our fair share of them.



I took Dallas across the road to his old home, it was empty now, Eva Farmer had died recently and her daughter Barbara had long since moved out.



We have more money than we know what to do with so I thought it might be a nice thing to buy Terra Bella and keep it in the family, unfortunately Dallas didn't agree with me.

"You're joking right? I have nothing but bad memories of that house, I don't want anything more to do with it, you are not to buy it, do you understand?".



"But Dallas I thought you'd be pleased." I never expected him to get so angry about it, I guess even after all this time his early childhood is still a very bitter memory.



"Can you believe your mother, how could she think I'd want anything to do with that house after what happened there."

"It's part of our history, she just wanted to hold onto it, that's all."

"Yes well it's a history I'd rather forget, this is our home now, that place can burn to the ground for all I care."



It's not often Dallas puts his foot down but when he does he means it, I learnt my lesson, I won't mention it again.

Pat is just never going to get his break, he'll be stuck in IF mode forever.
