“Molly” - born Week 35, Day 4 - One week before Millie is due to become an Elder

Meet Generation 7, shown here with Generation 1.  Molly is Good and Friendly.  I wish there were more traits to choose from at birth.

Radar seems fascinated by the new arrival.  I think he’s using a cell phone to take her picture.

I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to put Radar’s urn into someone’s inventory, as I really don’t want him drifting around waking people up at night.  But he’s been out and about for 2 days straight.  I thought ghosts went back to their urns or tombs during the day!  Not Radar.  He’s a very busy ghost.

W00t! It worked! Must have been a good sign that your dogs barked ;)

Simstar, you have an uncanny ability to read my mind or something!  That's exactly what I was thinking.

I always have live-in ghosts. Not sure why, they disrupt my sims sleep. But mine always go away in the morning, I'm not sure why Radar is out all day.

I agree on having more traits for babies. All mine turn out to be Good, Friendly, or Love the Outdoors.

Schipperke, I had the same issue with ghost hanging around for almost 2 Sim week never leaving lot, and got advised to reset her using resetSim cheat code, but only after I deleted her with move objects. After that I could place grave in inventory. So I guess both options should work with Radar too. Mine ghost even mourned herself ::) not to mention carring babies around through walls.
Anyway, welcome Molly! Congratulation on 7th generation! This is great, you and Pam are soon to open HoF of Immortal dynasty!

Well, you dried my tears for Radar with "Portrait and sculpture of Radar as a ghost".  That was too funny.  Welcome to sweet Molly!
What?  Grannies can't play games?

Right, if Radar's ghost won't go away, just use the resetsim code and he'll pop back into his urn and you can put it in your inventory.

Congratulations on baby Molly!

Thanks everyone for the suggestions on how to get Radar to settle down and return to the urn, but I inadvertently found a way.  It was quite fun watching his antics, and I would have left him alone if he didn’t keep waking people up at night.  He really enjoyed going down to the Immortal Gallery and studying the paintings and photos.  I think all the ice sculptures and furniture made him feel right at home - he wasn’t the only one who was transparent.

Radar was a bookworm when alive, and I presume ghosts keep their traits.  Here he is reading over Millie’s shoulder as she works on her next Masterpiece novel.

After several days of him drifting around looking for something to do, I decided to let him go to the park with Millie and the baby.

Unfortunately, when it came time to go home, I couldn’t figure out how to get him to come with the others.  We left him hanging around the park.

He stayed there until it was quite late.  I don’t know exactly when he came home, but when the others went to bed I checked his urn and he was in it.  Now he and his urn are in Mojo’s inventory where they’ll stay until I think of a better idea.

Waking everyone up is why I put Christopher and Kenny in the family cemetary.  That's a relatively new behavior for ghosts and I don't like it at all.  They've also stopped leaving the cemetary in cars and taxis.  Now they appear in the cemetary and then disappear.  Just poof!

“Vignettes of Everyday Life

This little gnome likes to lie on the floor in front of the food replicator or the kitchen cabinets.  Maybe he got tired of the sims always complaining about him being in the way, because here he is on the kitchen table instead.  I didn’t notice him there until the sims sat down to eat.  He looks like he’s getting ready to grab Wimsey’s salmon.  She’s keeping her hand between him and her plate, just in case.

I’m not sure what Sleuth thought he was doing here.  Was he blessing someone?  Practicing his vulcan salute?  Or maybe he thought Clan needed a conductor and appointed himself to that role.

Molly becomes a toddler and finally has hair.  With two red-headed parents, I was looking forward to seeing red hair on her.  But her hair turned out to be dark brown.

With 6 elders in the household, there is no shortage of people to teach Molly and spend time with her.  As usual, James takes over teaching most of the toddler skills.  He becomes Molly’s first friend.

I hate it when the game gives Sims that hair color. In my opinion it looks disgusting. Sort of a greenish brown. (Don't take this the wrong way, I'm not insulting you or Millie.)

Awww, she's adorable!  I've read that toddlers have more facial expressions now.  I can't wait for my next generation!

I agree with you, Simstar!  I couldn't believe it when I saw that colour with the greenish undertone.  I don't have a lot of experience with multi-generational families - in fact this is my first - but I'm beginning to wonder if children tend to inherit their hair colour from their grandparents.  With all the blondes and redheads I've brought in as spouses, I don't know why I keep getting dark hair.  Oh well.  So much for my attempts at genetic engineering.   ;D

Red hair is recessive and I am not certain about blondes.

Why not change her hair color?  You can do that with the mirror.  Radar's antics were pretty funny but the ghosts seem to be getting more and more obnoxious.
