Once you get Late Night, it seems that privacy for your sims is a thing of the past.  This paparazzi spends more time on the lot than most of the family members.

He he he, welcome to the world of Celebrities, Schipp. I've started my own I.D. and my founder, Etna Disgaea, and her family *never* stop getting calls from their agents - Etna's a 4-star celeb, her hubby became a two-star one after delivering some lobster thermidor to Bob Newbie, and her son Prinny turned into one after getting his teen ice Sim sculpture and he and his wife became 3-star celebs after they got married in a wedding party. As my culinary superstar idol would say, Oh Bother! (Alton Brown, I got to meet him personally during a book signing he held in my home town and even got to ask him a couple of things, now I need to get my dad to download the photo of him and me together.  ;D )

I wish there was an option to stop being a celebrity, but then again, if that was available in real life, how many of the rich and famous would take it? I know a few, ha ha ha...

Anyways, I love how you installed Late Night and I love your Scottish-theme Dynasty. I haven't had twins or triplets yet but there will be problems when Laharl Disgaea(my third immortal, now just a baby) marries and his wife pops two nooboos, though Billy's 87 and close to dying. (I mean Billy Caspain, this dynasty is set in Riverview as I am scared of playing Bridgeport, maybe for a future challenge...)

EDIT: Just ignore this post - I dumped that family and started a new one.

Thanks for the comments, Simstar and CJ.  Yeah, I need a name for a band that's part Mortals and part Immortals.  Dynasty, maybe?
He he he, welcome to the world of Celebrities, Schipp.
Celebrity is definitely a mixed blessing.  Personally, I could do without the paparazzi always hanging around.  Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be an option to tell them to leave.  At least the sims don't appear to be bothered by them.  But what's really funny about this is that my founder James, who has never sought celebrity and has never bothered trying to impress any celebrities, keeps getting celebrity discounts thrown at him when he goes to the store.  He does have a single star, which must be from interacting with the family members.  No-one else ever gets celebrity discounts even though a couple of them have 2 or 3 stars by now.

Edit:  Actually I have found a way to get the paparazzi to leave, if only for a short while.  My sims (all with the Friendly trait) are always wanting to introduce themselves to the anyone on the lot.  They can talk to the paparazzi for a little while, and then the paparazzi always runs off.  You'd think the paparazzi would want to talk to the people they're always filming, but apparently not.

I'm going to miss this dynasty when you are done with it.  You have written such an interesting story. I've loved every minute of reading it.

Millie’s Blog

Hi to everybody out there in cyberspace, and welcome to my new blog.  I’ve just been promoted and am now a Professional Blogger, so if you’re looking for a really professional blog site, you’ve come to the right place.

This is a picture of me before my last birthday.  Sorry, I don’t have a more current one just yet.

Maybe you’ve been thinking that being a journalist in SV is a piece of cake.  I assure you, nothing could be further from the truth.  Let me tell you about my latest assignment.

My boss promised to increase my performance if I took the time to befriend and interview a certain local resident.  Turns out the resident, Camilla French, was an old girlfriend of my father’s.  He told me she was blonde (he likes blondes), pretty (yeah, he likes that too),  and said she had a nice personality.  So I headed over to her house.  I was feeling pretty confident about this assignment.  Talk about misplaced confidence.

Camilla invited me in, then she did this:

What on earth!?  Have you ever seen a sim act like that?  And check out those weird eyes of hers.  I’m beginning to suspect there are things that Father didn’t tell me about this lady.

But we professional journalists don’t let a little thing like a creepy interviewee throw us off.  I quickly recovered my cool and started the interview.

Me:  So, Camilla, tell me about that mark on your neck.  Did the tattooist’s hand slip, or is your shower just out of order?
Camilla:  This mark is to show how special I am.  Different from ordinary sims like you.  To someone like me, you are much lower on the food chain.  Speaking of food, what blood type are you?
Me:  uh - I have no idea.
Camilla:  No matter.  I like all types.  My favourite is O positive, though.  You smell like O positive to me.
Me:  Smell?  I had a shower this morning.  I don’t smell!

Then Camilla opened her mouth and bared her teeth at me:

Whoa!  My brain was whirring, trying to come up with an excuse to end the interview early and hightail it out of there.  You know that hunted feeling you sometimes get when someone sees you as a prospective meal?  I had it in spades.  Luckily for me, Camilla was late for her job at the bookstore and had to run off.  What a relief.

Boy, I hope my interviews won’t all be like that!  I mean, they don’t give me danger pay.  I am a married lady, and I have a duty to preserve my DNA for future Dynasty generations.  I’m going to insist that my boss give me better assignments in future.

Millie Douglas, Intrepid Journalist - signing off for now.

Thank you very much, Joria!  But please - let's not even think about being done.  The clan has been such a big part of my life for the last few months, I don't want to think about being finished.  Anyway, we have only 5 immortals (not counting Millie, who still has a lot of work to do before she qualifies), so there are still 3 to go - there's a lot yet to come.

Jerry meets his Mother-in-Law

Camille learns of her new son-in-law and visits the lot to check him out.

Jerry (to himself) Wow, what a strange-looking woman.  I wonder if she’d let me paint her portrait.

Jerry and Camille have a lively discussion, then she suddenly vanishes:

Jerry:  Was it something I said?  What an odd woman.  I’m sure glad Millie doesn’t look like her mother.

Later, Jerry and Millie relax in the hot tub.

Jerry keeps having to empty the water out of his boots.  It doesn’t seem to occur to him to take them off before he gets in the hot tub.

Actually, it's just the clothes he wears.  It seems very odd to me to have that outfit as swim clothing, but it's the outfit he was given.

Don’t be Rude to Reporters

As a newly-promoted Investigative Reporter, Millie has to go where the news is.  Sunday afternoon, she dashes to the Stadium to review the game.

After the game, Millie seeks out the Team Manager, Vaughn Strawberry, for an exclusive interview.

Millie:  So, Vaughn, another win for the Llamas!  You must be very proud of the team.
Vaughn:  What?  Who are you, little girl?
Millie:  Millie Douglas, Investigative Reporter for the Sunset Valley StarPhoenix.
Vaughn:  They have girls doing sports reporting now?  What happened, were all the big boys busy today?
Millie (biting her tongue to get the story):  Vaughn, to what do you attribute the team’s amazing win record?
Vaughn:  Well, honey, it’s hard for a girl to understand, but I’ll try to explain it in a way you’ll be able to comprehend.  Winning is all about leadership.  If you have the right man at the helm, the team will succeed.
Millie:  Let me guess - that would be you?
Vaughn:  Aren’t you clever.
Millie:  What about the players?  Aren’t they important?
Vaughn:  Oh, they do their part, but they’d be nowhere without someone to tell them what to do.  You know, you’re a cute little thing.  Why don’t you buy me a drink at the plasma bar (you can put it on your expense account) and we’ll get to know each other better?
Millie:  I don’t think so.  So, let me make sure I understand:  my father and uncle, who are the best athletes this town has ever seen, had nothing to do with the winning streak?  My great-great grandfather who owns the Stadium will be interested to hear this.
Vaughn:  … you’re one of those Douglases?  Look, honey, I was just kidding.  Say, look how late it is.  Gotta run!

Millie returns home to write up her report on the game.

Excerpt from Millie’s report:  “In closing, Sunset Valley is fortunate to have such a high calibre of athletes.  Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the Team Manager, Vaughn Strawberry, who is a pompous self-important windbag.”

Millie’s boss reprimands her for that comment but not too severely as Millie’s family also owns DooPeas Tower and the newspaper at this point.

Lol! Just caught up on several of the updates! I love the outfit Millie is wearing at the computer writing up her report! Have you decided the final outfit she will wear or are you still mixin' and matchin'?
