One evening, while Rhett and Jenna are playing chess, Rhett suddenly begins to glow:
Everyone is quite distraught except for Christie, Rhett’s wife, who stands in the back beside the desk, apparently oblivious to what is going on. At first I wonder what’s going on with her, then I remember that Stone Hearted was one of her LTRs. Well, now we know it works - she shows not the slightest concern over her husband‘s death. Or maybe it’s because she never really forgave him for that daughter in France.
If you look closely at the right side of the picture where Wimsey and Sleuth are standing, they appear to be occupying the exact same space. Wimsey looks like she has three feet, and look at Sleuth’s arm - is he picking his grandmother’s pocket?
Wimsey and Grim have a discussion about good versus evil. Neither is convinced by the other’s arguments. I think their life view is fundamentally incompatible.
Rhett is laid to rest in the family plot in Summer Hill Springs.
Rhett completed his LTW of Physical Perfection including the Marathon Runner Athletic challenge, which doesn’t seem to have extended his lifespan significantly. He also maximized the Painting and Sculpting skills, and completed several items for the Immortals’ Museum. Rhett was 92 days old when he died.
