I feel very sobered after reading this, although I was giddy a few moments ago. I am so glad you can find things to post about!

It doesn't have to be exciting to be worth posting.  We love this story so much and it's always nice to read something about the Douglas Clan.  :)

“Christie”

Christie is the Dynasty cook.  As Generation 3, she is one of the older Immortals and has been widowed for a long time.  She shares a bedroom with Wimsey, her mother.

I don’t have a screenshot of Christie doing martial arts, but she has reached level 10 and frequently gets wishes to practice or spar.  Unfortunately I can’t let her athletics skill get too high, so, feeling like the Grinch, I usually cancel those wishes.

Christie has maximized the guitar skill and is part of the band Clan.  She has also learned the mixology skill.  I’m not sure what level she’s reached - 8 or 9, I think.  It was useful having her prepare skill-boosting drinks when Molly and Moth were still working on their supermax skills, but now Christie’s magic drinks are no longer needed and she drinks alone in the basement.

Sometimes she goes to the dive bar after work and tells the mixologist her troubles.

Christie has continued to work in her job as 5-star chef at the Diner.  But lately she has taken to leaving work early, for reasons that are a mystery to me.  Here she is sneaking out of work at 3:18, just eighteen minutes after her work shift began.

Sometimes I have to send her back to work several times in a shift.  I have no idea why this has started happening.  The only thing I can think of is that, like the other Dynasty members, she is bored with the same old routines.  Lately all of them have been getting wishes to learn new skills and do different things.  Well, all but James.  He seems eternally content with his daily routine of visiting the consignment store and then going fishing.  The only skill-related wishes he ever has are wishes to learn to prepare recipes.  For some reason he seems to fancy himself a skilled chef, and he’s always wanting to learn to cook things that are way above his skill level.  In the early days of the Dynasty, he had to do some of the cooking and the only thing he could make that was edible was autumn salad.  Anything else he tried to make usually turned out to be “horrifying” quality.  But he’s convinced that lobster thermidor is within his grasp.

Oh my, this immortality seems good only for James. Please, make Christie, Mojo and others as happy as possible. The end is so close and they all seem rather desperate than exciting which is so sad :(

Maybe James is the only one who is happy is because he was the only one who actually made a decision to be immortal the others were born to it. Almost like being Royalty you have no choice it is a duty.
I really hope they all get their happy ending.

“Moth’s Research”

Moth is continuing to pursue independent research studies at work.  Whether it’s his Lucky trait or James’s influence, Moth’s research is always successful and has resulted in frequent promotions.  Sometimes he gets over-enthusiastic about his research and comes home a bit singed.

One day he has exciting news to share at dinner.

Moth:  At last!  My research has confirmed the existence of Dimension H!
Wimsey:  Dimension H?  Really?  I thought that was just a myth.
James:  I always thought those old stories must be based on something real.
Moth:  Yes, there is a race of beings called Humans.  We’ve been monitoring their television and radio communications.  It’s going to be on the news - turn on the television.

They all rush over to watch the news story.

Black-haired newscaster:  So, Ralph, is it true?  Sunset Valley researchers have confirmed the existence of Dimension H?

Red-haired newscaster:  Yes, Andrew, isn’t it amazing?  Now we have an exclusive interview with the head of the Science Centre.  You won’t believe the video shots.

News Announcer:  Professor Simstein, thank you for being with us.

Professor Simstein:  Hello Ralph!  Yes, my research definitely confirms that Dimension H is real.
Molly:  His research?  What about Moth?
Moth:  That’s my boss - he takes credit for everybody else’s work.
News Announcer:  Professor, we understand that most of the research was done by a promising young scientist named Moth Douglas.  Can we talk to him?
Simstein:  Oh, yes, Moth helped.  But as lead scientist, I take responsibility for all research done at our lab.  I am in charge.
News Announcer:  What have you learned about Dimension H so far?
Simstein:  The beings called Humans are very sim-like in appearance, at least the adults are.  The children have fur to protect them from the cold.  Here is a picture of a human female feeding her child.

Moth:  Idiot.  That’s not her child.  It’s some kind of animal species.
News Announcer:  We understand these beings use language to communicate.  Have you made any progress in understanding their language?
Simstein:  Not yet.  Their language is very different from Simlish.  We’re still working on it.
Moth:  If he was really doing the research himself, he’d know better.  We’ve actually learned that different tribes of humans have different languages.  One of the main languages is called Hinglish.  I’ve learned a few words of it.
News Announcer:  Professor, do you think it will be possible for us to communicate with these beings?
Simstein:  Oh, I doubt it, Andrew.  These beings are really very primitive, as you can see.  We hope to be able to understand their communications some day, but they just aren’t intelligent enough for real inter-species communication to ever be possible.  Now, Andrew, I know your viewers would like to see an action shot of me in my lab.  This is where it’s all happening!

News Announcer:  Thank you very much, Professor Simstein.  Now folks, you won’t believe this shot.  See the white stuff in that picture?  It’s called snow!  It appears to be very cold where these beings live.

The Announcer continues:  Stay tuned to Channel SIMS for updates on the Dimension H discovery!  Now here’s Sandi with your weather report.

The French gnome joins them for a round of astounding new discoveries! I think your French gnome is communicating with mine; mine is getting closer to linking sprinkler activity to cloud cover. From there, it's a simple extrapolation to Dimension H and then gnome freedom.  ;D

“Number Eight

The Tartans, the band formed by the younger members of the Dynasty, finally gets a gig to play at Waylon’s.

Molly is a pianist and Moth has been learning the drums, but for reasons best known to them, Molly and Moth decide not to play their usual instruments.

Here’s the whole gang jamming in the park on Saturday afternoon before Moth’s birthday.

Later they gather for the Dynasty’s last birthday.

After a quick trip to Create-a-Sim, Moth is ready to have his last portrait painted.

After the gallery items are completed, the Elders’ Council will meet and then they will all settle into a quiet, uneventful life.  So they expect.  But as the poet tells us “The best-laid schemes o' mice an' men gang aft agley.”  [Robbie Burns, of course]  In other words, it’s not over till it’s over.

I am working on a really long post about Moth's meeting with the Elder's Council and subsequent events.   I'm not sure when it will be ready, possibly sometime this weekend.  When I'm ready to put it up I'll be taking this thread offline for a while to give me time to get it all put together.  (many thanks to Pam for sharing her expertise on how to do this)  So please bear with me - I promise, all will finally be revealed!

Awesome. The information I would like for the Hall of Fame is:

Date Completed
Total Value of your Museum items
Picture of 8 immortals
