It's a pity Radar cannot get a job as a butler then problem would be solved. I feel guilty for wishing Radar to pass on and I bet you feel a hundred times worse

This may be a stupid theory, but:
Maybe all that meditation is increasing Radars lifespan?

I don't think it's stupid at all, Simstar.  Radar has maximized the Athletic skill but I didn't let him complete the marathon runner skill challenge or whatever it's called, so there's nothing there that should be extending his lifespan.  I've never heard that meditation increases a sim's lifespan, but it would make sense to me that it might.  Next to James, Radar is my favourite person in this dynasty, and I don't want to see him die.  But I am getting seriously worried that Millie may not be able to have a baby before she ages up and becomes infertile.

How old is Millie, Schipperke?  And how old is Radar?

I understand your feelings, Schipp. Just a few hours ago, my Bridgeport Dynasty co-founder, Ebenezer Clavier-Cuisine, ghostified and his life ended... an hour before he hit 101! Yeah, he lived a full 10.99 days longer than usual! Here I was saying "Okay, he'll die tonight, he'll die tonight..." and he lived to the next day! I was blowing my virtual brains out on this matter! :(

I blame Grim getting held up by the stunky subway systems. Argh, who thought a virtual New York was a great idea?  >:(

Anywho, be that as it may, I don't think it has to do with the Meditation, or else I'd be a bit worried. You see, my third generation is twin girls, and Honey(the mortal twin) will be trying to do all the super-max challenges for Martial Arts to see how it's done. Yes, she'll become a grandmaster. But if Meditation made her age longer, then she'll be 120 and seeing her great-grandkids! Yikes!

I think you just have an Ebenezer Clavier in Radar, Schipp, only twice as worse. I've heard of Sims living to the age of 120.

If that's the case(and I am not saying it is), your Dynasty is doomed. I don't want to be a doomsayer, but there is no way Millie can have a baby under the rules if her uncle Radar is going to live to 120. That's not gonna happen as she'll hit menopause(four days to elder) before Radar bites it.. If it were me, I'd just reboot and make sure Radar is never born.  :-\ I'm trying to get used to twins in my Dynasty, and with Honey I know things are going to be hectic. But at least she's 3rd gen, so there is room for more babies and spouses.

Then again, I thought Eb was going to live until Sugar and Honey became young adults and married, and he got the point and died before the twins were teens. Phew! Trust me, I'm sure a miracle will happen and Radar will 'get the point' and die off before Millie gets old. Of course, Jerry might ghostify before Radar and she'd have to remarry, right? Is that allowed?

I pray for Radar's ghostification. I know you like him, but I liked Eb too, but everyone has to let go. :'(

EDIT: Sorry, Pam. I'm running off the Sims 2 experiences, where a female cannot Try For Baby once she is four days from elder.

Actually, an Adult female can get pregnant right up until the day before she becomes Elder, unless it's changed recently.  In one of the Baby Boomer challenges, my Sim got pregnant on the last day of Adulthood and it postponed her Elder birthday until after the baby was born.

“Dynasty Twins”

Radar and Mojo have always been exceptionally close.

Sparring together as teenagers:

Showing off their new kilts as young adults:

Dancing together as elders:

Saturday evening, they come home from work and start sparring, when Radar begins to glow:

The last farewell:

Grim waits while the brothers say their goodbyes:

Radar turns to Grim and says, “I’m ready.”

And then there was one.

Radar Douglas, Dynasty twin.  He wanted to marry and have a family but had to sacrifice his own goals for the Dynasty.  He found solace in long hours of meditation.

Radar Douglas, dead at age 108 days.  Week 33, Day 5

After Radar's death, the game froze for almost a minute.  I imagine it was just resetting itself or something, but it felt like a minute of silence for Radar.

I believe my founder is about 84 days old and Yvette Grisby is still around. In fact, her husband Walter died only a day or two ago. Metro, I think they might be in on the Dynasty secret! Yvette was in the culinary career after all.  :P

108 days is a long Sim life. Schipperke, sorry for your loss and congrats on a great Dynasty, I will be back to read more.

“The Dogs Barked”

The Douglas family members are reeling from the loss of Radar.  But for Millie and Jerry, there is no time for a lengthy mourning period.  They have urgent business to attend to.

Millie:  Jerry, finally there’s room in the house and we can Try for Baby!   Are you ready?
Jerry:  Mills, I’ve been ready since we got married, you know that.
Millie:  Ok, here goes.  Are you sure you know what to do?
Jerry:   Just watch me, girl!

Millie:  So, did you hear the music?
Jerry:  Uh … I’m not sure what I heard.  What did you hear?
Millie:  It sounded like dogs barking.
Jerry:  Dogs?? There are no dogs in Sims 3!  But that’s what it sounded like to me as well.

Millie:  Well, if we didn’t hear the music, maybe we should Try for Baby again.  Are you up to it?
Jerry:  I can if you can!

Much later …

The womenfolk cluster round Millie, eager to hear her report.

Christie:  Did you hear the music?  Well?
Millie:  If I tell you what we heard, you’ll think we’re nuts.
Christie:  Well?
Millie:  It sounded like dogs barking.  I know it’s impossible, but that’s what it sounded like.
Wimsey:  No!  Could it be?
Christie:  What?
Wimsey:  When I was a little girl, Dad used to tell me stories from the old country, where he was raised.  Some of those stories were about a race of beings that lived in another dimension.  In the stories it was called the H Dimension.  I asked Dad once what that meant, and he said his grandmother told  him it was “h’unknown”.
Christie:  Fairy tales!
Wimsey:  Scoff if you like, but Dad told me that sometimes sounds come through from that dimension.
Christie:  Well, since we aren’t sure whether Millie’s Try for Baby worked, what should she do?
Wimsey:  She should definitely start eating watermelon.  Lots of watermelon.  We know that makes the best babies.  And we’ll just have to wait and see.

[Editor’s note:  Yes, the dogs - the ones in the Human Dimension - barked at the crucial moment.  The music could not be heard.  We’ll just have to await developments.]
