Why Is The Sims 3 on Console So Hard To Find?

I wanted to buy The Sims 3 for PS3.  Something different from Pets and it would be nice to play The Sims 3 without pets sometimes.  I mean, you don't necessarily have to have a pet I know but there are other pets around and it would be nice not to see them sometimes.  I check my local Walmart, Target, etc and no Sims 3.  I see plenty for PC but not for console.  Do you guys think they simply didn't order anymore after it's original release or is it so popular it keeps selling out?

Sims 3 for the PS3 was released in 2010, my guess is the box stores don't carry it anymore since it is an older title.  And you don't need a base game like the PC does to play newer expansion titles.

But if you're okay with ordering things online and you can wait a few days for it to ship, I just checked Amazon and they sell the The Sims 3 for the PS3 for $23.17.  So you'd be able to pick it up there if you really want it

Also, if you have any Gamestops around where you live, you should check one of those.  You might be able to find a used version, which would also be a little cheaper then buying it new.

Really?  I thought The Sims 3 came out earlier this year or last year.  Wow time flies.  I usually don't shop at gamestop anymore.  Even if a game has been out for 10 years they still keep the $60 price.  At least Walmart and places like that mark it down over time, but maybe I'll look anyway.  Thanks for the help and the info everyone.

As far as console versions go, I liked sims base game better than Pets, mostly due to the fact that the colours were weird in Pets, no matter what you did to the settings in the game, or your TV, you could never get the colours right. Stuff that showed as black in CAS would end up this strange shade of grey. I also had a lot of problems with saved games in Pets, I'd get frequent freezes that would wipe my saved games (even after I resorted to making multiple saves, it would wipe them all).
I know here in Australia it's still pretty easy to get Sims 3 for console, but like you said, the game is quite old now (by gaming standards) but it's still not cheap (but then neither is the PC version, even when Sims 4 is on the horizon)

I agree about Gamestops price, but do check Amazon. I've had really good luck with them.

OMG Yes, I have that same issue with colors.  I get so angry when I create a cool looking Goth sim--all in black then she is ready to move into her house and she's a shade of gray and it takes the creep factor away.  It's like her clothes faded from too much washing.
