So my 6th generation heir just had their child birthday and I noticed something that seemed to start in generation 5 and has me a bit concerned for the future of my dynasty.
There seem to be very few kids in town and the ones my heir has met at school don't appear in map view. I've even spent time clicking on every house to get an idea of who lives there and still can't find where these kids live. My heir has tried inviting them over, and they accept but immediately cancel because something else came up. In the past I was able to overcome this by stalking visiting the potential spouse at their house and becoming friendly. Once the relationship meter was a little in the green it seemed that they would be more likely to accept an invitation.
I also noticed that SV seems to be practically a ghost town - there are very few people at public venues like the park, and the LN clubs that I placed are empty except for bouncers, mixologists, and the occasional pianist. The paper is full of people moving in or moving out, but I rarely am able to find the newcomers. When school lets out for the day, my sim is the only one who comes out of the building. It's really kind of creepy.
Is this normal? This is the first family I have played for this long so I have nothing else to compare to. Is there anything I can do to get new families to move in? Is it possible that there will be no eligible (e.g., YA/A, non-vamp) female sims to help my heir bring in generation 7?
